  1. Those sigs are sweet. I was able to sell my puzzle for $650 on the Bay which shows these puzzles have some nice value. I'm sure your signed puzzle would value well above $1000.
  2. AC1 CGC census = 67 copies 'tec 27 CGC census = 65 copies AF15 CGC census = 2686 copies Just thought I'd show the rarity comparison according to the census.
  3. as per PM I picked up a GA Subby 1 last week so this will make a nice companion.
  4. My point is, that this could be the back cover of an inexpensive comic like Kid Colt 106. You can pick up that comic for $10-$20, rip off the back cover and send it in to PGX and apparently call it an AF15 back cover. And people are bidding on it
  5. OK, this one seems a bit "scammy" to me. Tell me if you agree. A PGX AF 15 "Back Cover Only" on ebay. It already has 10 bidders and the bidding is over $100 with a day left. Correct me if I'm wrong but there's no way to know for sure if that's an AF15 back cover. It could be, but it could also be a Kid Colt 106, or a TTA 35 or 36, or a TOS 33 or 34. Right? Has CGC ever slabbed an AF15 back cover? It would be one thing if the spine partially wrapped around to a piece of the front cover, but this one goes no further than a tiny piece of the black line that many comics have going down the spine http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Fantasy-15-PGX-Back-Cover-Only-1st-App-of-Spider-Man-1962-Original-/201880267594?hash=item2f01006b4a:g:MHUAAOSwfVpYugGz
  6. When I saw how high that BV40 went for I immediately did a search and 10 minutes later picked up this beater thru a buyitnow for $74. It's got problems but I had to have one before they're impossible to get.
  7. This seems like a shocking price. I guess nothing should shock me any more. How do think this one compares to the CC 4.0?, just curious (cuz it's mine).
  8. I love this storyline they're doing right now. If this is the end of MAOS on TV then at least they went out on top.
  9. Obviously, Thor recognized the Hulk, but did anyone see a glimmer of recognition as the Hulk looked at Thor? Or is he mind controlled or something.
  10. If 8 months is "quick" then yes, Goodman was quick about finding out who were the stars of the title. After issue 12 it was all Torch and Subby. By contrast it took DC 19 issues until they figured out to put Superman on the front of every issue of Action comics.
  11. In the 1st 8 issues of Marvel Mystery Comics..... I was looking at covers this morning and noticed the Angel gets the most appearances on the covers of the first 8 issues of Marvel Mystery Comics (including Marvel Comics 1) Is that because at that time the Angel was getting the most feedback from readers? Did Marvel/Timely/Atlas think the Angel was the breakout character? Angel Cover on #s: 2, 3, 6, 8 Torch cover on #s: 1, 5, 7 Subby cover on #: 4 I wonder if they came close to having Kazar or Electro on any covers?
  12. Wow, that looks nicer than a 4.5. Looks like at least a 6.0 from the front.
  13. This came in the mail today. Super low grade, and missing the CF, but I am SO happy I got it. Someone please sell me a CF.
  14. I picked this up 2 nights ago for $2650 so I guess that answers the OPs question for me. Needs a CF, but I'm pretty happy. Namor is such a great character and has such a rich history. Plus a "Fighting the Nazis" cover.
  15. Number 135 is a great one to have because it's an origin strip. You can find the numbers around it for as low as $10 on ebay, but the 135 strip always pulls quite a bit more. Maybe $75-$125 for that one.
  16. Thanks Robot Man. How many of these puzzles do you have in your "junk" collection?
  17. Is it ok to sell something like this in the Sales Thread or is this a no no?
  18. I used to have a pretty full set of the early black & whites (I wish I still had them). As I recall they have a more complete origin than both Action #1 & Superman #1. All of the early strips should have a number on them. I think they started in early 1939. On ebay you can buy the "dailies" book which has strips 1-966: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BOOK-3-Volumes-in-One-SUPERMAN-The-Dalies-The-Strips-1-966-1939-1942-op-2006-/131499539283?hash=item1e9dfbbb53:g:ygcAAOSwBLlVMpyv Or if you're looking for the Sunday strips buy this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Superman-The-Sunday-Classics-Strips-1-183-1939-1943-/142195948496?hash=item211b89fbd0:g:i9gAAOSwo4pYPpaF
  19. Take a good look at that back cover and tell me if you still think it is a 4.0. CGC should buy this and get it off the market.
