  1. Jimmy Olsen 31 has a House Ad for "Next Month's Superboy" (Superboy 68) which will introduce a character named "Bizarro" Well, nobody told the artist for the Ad that Bizarro has White Skin and a backwards "S" on his chest, so this is what the Ad looked like... Flesh colored, and a "B" on his chest. Does it add any value to JO-31... probably not (unless Bizarro get's super popular I suppose), but I do find it pretty interesting.
  2. One thing I like about the Top Notch 22 Archie Ad, is that the artist who put the ad together was not given important information about who Archie was. It's Archie, but he's missing his iconic red hair and "R" on his sweater. I think it adds interest to this "1st appearance". Whereas the ads for Action 1 are simply copies of the Action 1 cover. Imagine if, when More Fun 31 was being created, the "Ad guy" for the comic was told to put together a promo ad about a super powered alien that looks human, but wears a cape and comes from a planet called Krypton.... and he creates a Green-skinned alien with a "K" (for Krypton) on his chest. Can you imagine the extra interest & desire it would generate for MF31?
  3. According to the GCD... Detective 15 has an "On-Sale Date" of 4-10-'38 More Fun 31 has an "On-Sale date of 4-5-'38 New Adventure 26 doesn't have an "On-Sale Date" listed in the info, but later issues usually came out a week after More Fun. So.... I believe More Fun 31 might be the actual 1st appearance of Supes. I'm just speculating of course... I'm sure a boardie with way more knowledge than me will know more.
  4. More Fun 31 came out 2 weeks before Action 1. It has an image of Action 1 on the inside cover. Also New Adventure 26 came out before Action 1 and has an image of Action 1 on the inside cover. A 7.0 of MF 31 just sold for $8000. That's CHEAP considering it may be the 1st image of Superman
  5. Adventure Comics 40 CGC NG Slightly Brittle "Cover is a color copy, 1st 5 wraps are missing". IT HAS THE CENTERFOLD!!! Even though it says "Slightly Brittle" I handled this book quite a bit when I was figuring out what it was missing. I found it to be supple . Perhaps the existing outer wrap had a little brittleness, but the center wraps..... I think they are supple. Certainly the CF would be desirable. $3000 $2650 shipped
  6. Doctor Strange 169 - CGC 9.6 with WHITE PAGES Old Label goodness, which probably means it wasn't pressed. Are you bold enough to CPR it and go for the 9.8???? I added closeups of the corners in case that thought crosses your mind. $6000 $5725 shipped
  7. RedSeal Comics 20 - CGC 3.0 "Qualified" : OW pages The ONLY qualification is "STAPLES REPLACED" Does that really merit getting a Green Label? You can probably take the staples out and still get the same grade, but with a Blue label. $1000 $885 + $15 shipping

  9. That's a tough set of PEPs to put together. I love em.
