  1. I'm posting this for a friend. These are the only photos he gave me and he didn't tell me anything else about it, so just go by what you see. I'm thinking 2.5 - 3.0 myself but I wanted to get other opinions.
  2. I'd rather go on a date with Bob's Veronica.
  3. I love this cover. Tough to find in High Grade
  4. I just picked this one up too. Tough to find in high grade.
  5. I just picked up the Laugh 120 1950 on the left, 1961 on the right. I like the Montana cover more.
  6. 1950 on the left. 1961 on the right. I like the Bob Montana version way more.
  7. I saw this on ebay...... The guy is promoting his SW1 comic as special cuz it has Mark Hamill's booger on it. "Star Wars #1 LUKE SKYWALKER'S JEDI BOOGER SIGNED BY MARK HAMILL. The true story, according to my modest, honest and a little obsessive late older brother, goes like this: After paying God knows what for a pass/ticket to some type of private Star Wars signing, my brother apparently brought a number of items to get autographed. Two of those items were the 1977 Star Wars Issue #1, one original first print, and the second being this 2nd print edition printed the same year. He was able to get a signature from Mark Hamill on both. However, it was the second edition where Mr. Hamill blasted a Luke Skywalker sneeze that catapulted some Jedi snot onto the comic he was signing, which was this one. Mr. Hamill/Skywalker duly dubbed the loogie "the Jedi Booger." Thus, the first and only Jedi Booger was born into The Force! It's snot on the Dark Side! It has been encapsulated in an old UNBROKEN CGC slab to preserve what is now a dried booger similar in appearance to an old Master Yoda. Now this incredibly rare Star Wars relic of snotty proportions and booger legend straight from the Skywalker Nostril is up for grabs to the highest bidder! No collection will ever be complete without this item, which is just about the quintessential summary of my later brother's exact type of luck he always had, lol. Good will bidding! °NOTE: This comic is not graded to any certification for it's current condition as seen in the pictures. It is however genuinely signed by the real Mark Hamill, and the booger residue is that of Mark Hamill. It is encapsulated. Any questions or requests? Feel free to message."
  8. I know it's "must see" viewing..... but I am one who has never seen even 1 episode. But if Madissyn recommends it, then I'm in.
  9. Yes..., I humbly apologize for sidetracking this thread with posts that have nothing to do with it. I will stop with that. I look forward to your Madissyn post. I personally found Madissyn to be annoying but maybe I'm missing something or am wanting more from the show or something. I know the show is supposed to be light with comical elements but I think I've only chuckled once and I can't remember what it was about. it definitely was NOT the twerking. After seeing the "Secret Invasion" trailer I'm already looking ahead.
  10. Arggggh. You're killing me. I thought they were making an effort to catch up.
  11. This has been the story with my friend's finds (like with the Caulder Mobile). But with the Basquiot painting he brilliantly found the fingerprint on the painting.
  12. Picasso had some rare limited edition "signed" art books published. In some of the books, besides his signature he put one of his famously simple 5 second drawings. My friend has found 2 of those books with the quick sketch. Yes, I suppose you can argue that the simple sketch was faked (even though the sketch medium seems to match the signature medium), but the limited edition signed book is real (and rare). My friend has spent years collecting these giant limited signed art books from scores of artists, because he's found, not all but many of them, have added sketches in them. On a smaller scale, I have bought a few collections of comics... and when I was slowly going thru them later I found some comics that were signed and had a small sketch on the cover. I found a few Bone comics this way that Jeff Smith drew on.
  13. Ah crud..... they're not even to Oct 21.
  14. Anyone have any new info on what day from last year they're grading now. Last I remember it was around mid Oct '21 Anyone heard of any progress? My 11/10/21 sub is still at SFG
  15. Yup... but I'm not going to submit any of it to you. You can choose to believe me or not. I don't care. My friend struggled to authenticate his Caulder Mobile because the experts in the art world are such snobs. "Off the record" they all told him it not only was real, but was an early one that Alexander actually personally did the welding on. He told me when he presented it to Caulder's son, the son actually asked him to give the sculpture to him. When he said no, the son said he would never sign off on the authentication (which had to go thru him). My friend ended up selling it to a Saudi for slightly over a million as an (un-authenticated Caulder piece). But it may have been worth about $50 mil (if authenticated). The Basquiats he found were similar. He struggled for authentication (again because the art world is filled with hypocrites and snobs). In a brilliant move he had forensic work done on one of the pieces where he thought he saw a fingerprint. Bingo! Basquiat's finger prints are in the database and matched the one on the painting. I virtually never hear from this friend anymore. He's a bit of a hermit. But a couple years ago he emailed me to say he wanted to buy an Action 1 and a Detective 27 (he's a comic fan too). This is before he told me about the Basquiat find. I texted him back and told him it would take millions to buy those comics (I thought his email was a joke). His response to me was "I think I'm a Billionaire now". When I asked him about it he told me about the Basquiat find and how he proved the provenance. He's actually done some exhibitions of some the Basquiat pieces in GA at some galleries. I'm not going to link any of it cuz he's trying to stay as low profile as possible. It all seems impossible, but it's real.
  16. I've got a friend with an Art History degree. In the wild he's found an original Degas sketch (thrift store for $10), more than one original Picasso sketch, an original Alexander Caulder mobile (crumpled in someone's front yard he recognized the pieces and asked them if they wanted to get rid of it.... they said $1000 and it was his), and a trove of multiple Basquiat paintings. The guy has a nose for sniffing out and finding original art from the masters. He's definitely not flipping burgers.
  17. Before the repulser rays.... not a hint of boobies or small waist. After the repulser ray.... you simply can't hide the boobies or small waist any more in any of the panels.
  18. Yup..... works now. I think I clicked on it for 3 days and couldn't get it to work.
  19. I keep getting a "Host Error" page. Is this just me or is it happening to everyone?
  20. Avengers 145/146 I hate when artists/writers pull this kind of thing... They set the Assassin up with these drawings. There's simply no doubt that the Assassin is a man, UNTIL.... IronMan blasts "him" with his repulsers and the costume shreds to reveal..... a woman. Come on.... Are these the Avengers or the Scooby Doo Squad?
  21. Jimmy Olsen 31 has a House Ad for "Next Month's Superboy" (Superboy 68) which will introduce a character named "Bizarro" Well, nobody told the artist for the Ad that Bizarro has White Skin and a backwards "S" on his chest, so this is what the Ad looked like... Flesh colored, and a "B" on his chest. Does it add any value to JO-31... probably not (unless Bizarro get's super popular I suppose), but I do find it pretty interesting.
  22. One thing I like about the Top Notch 22 Archie Ad, is that the artist who put the ad together was not given important information about who Archie was. It's Archie, but he's missing his iconic red hair and "R" on his sweater. I think it adds interest to this "1st appearance". Whereas the ads for Action 1 are simply copies of the Action 1 cover. Imagine if, when More Fun 31 was being created, the "Ad guy" for the comic was told to put together a promo ad about a super powered alien that looks human, but wears a cape and comes from a planet called Krypton.... and he creates a Green-skinned alien with a "K" (for Krypton) on his chest. Can you imagine the extra interest & desire it would generate for MF31?
