  1. Can anyone tell me if this Strong #1 (1969) from Spain is anything special? I noticed it has Smurfs on the cover so I thought maybe it's the 1st appearance of Smurfs in Spain.
  2. Spain version of Defenders 3. It's got an original variant cover based on the Splash page for Defenders 3. I got this "cover only" with the above lot. If anyone wants it I'll give it to you for free (just pay 1st class shipping). PM me if interested.
  3. Picked up a small lot of comics from Spain. I like the original covers for Kung Fu Fighter 16 & Captain America 158
  4. After a poisonous sting from the insectoid, our hero's tongue begins to swell up. And yet, before his throat swells shut, he's just able to get off a cry for help.... "Sam, Edi, jueneese to geet theese affemee!"
  5. Yes! Exactly... or maybe "Buy one, get one free, plus pocket some extra profit". I think the one on the left might be a $200 comic.
  6. I found these two gorgeous Pence copies on ebay (mislabeled so I got them for only $75 total ) The one on the left is especially nice.
  7. Ha! Yes, I forgot to mention there's an indentation of Charlie Browns head (gonna try to press that out)
  8. Does the comic feel "thick"? It looks like it's been in a high humidity environment. There's hint of mold on the inside. What kind of tape is holding the cover on? Masking tape? I'm going to say it's a "good looking" 3.0 restored. Remove the tape for a Universal grade. And then check about how much conservation would run (it may not be cost effective on this one). With conservation I think the inner pages could be cleaned and the cover reattached in a conserved way.
  9. I'll say 9.0 right now and 9.2 after the press
  10. Everything is solid at the staples. What you see in the photos represents the comic really well) One thing you may not see.... a couple of "indentations" near the words "all brand" where someone laid a paper on top and drew Charlie Brown's head (I'll try to press those out)
  11. Nice looking comic. Everything is solid at the staples. This has not been pressed yet so it will improve.
  12. I've got the same OCD, but for now..... it stays
  13. When I posted the PGM it was folded back inside. I unfolded it for this thread
  14. Here is a ST 115 I just got. On the top edge it has a chip that is hanging by the tiniest dot of paper. So when you guys get one of these (or a marvel chip that is about to fall off) do you leave it alone or do you remove it? I just don't want to submit this comic and then have the chip fall off inside the slab. It's hanging on by... paper fibers
  15. Structurally pretty nice. the cover & CF are very secure at the staples. Flat comic with no creases except for some spine tics. The obvious flaw is tanning. The inside pages have tanned, but they are supple even at the edges. So the question on this one is... How hard will they/you hit it for tanning?
  16. Aaaaaand here's the comic. I can't believe this survived. I don't see any damage from getting run over. It's a victory for cardboard!!!
  17. Now we're at the Cardboard.... Less damage but....
  18. Good News and Bad News... The Good News is.... There's a second padded Envelope inside the first envelope. The Bad News.... There's still Tire marks.
  19. Here's a new one...... Just got this today........ This time it's not the senders fault though, but USPS.... are you having fun running over my comics with your truck? So besides writing "Don Not Bend" and "Fragile", do we now have to write "Please do not run over package with your Truck"?
  20. I was able to steal this one in a mislabelled ebay auction for a really good price. Looks really good from the front but there's foxing on the back cover (not water stains) CF poster is present and everything is snug at the staples.
  21. Not to bad mouth your book but.... how can it get a 6.0 with that kind of fading? Even if it's structurally nice.
  22. I just saw this faded comic on Ebay and had to post it. Wow, faded all the way to Black & White. The seller had this quote in the description... "Not Perfect but a good investment."
