  1. The bidding might be fierce.... there's bound to be many collectors with coverless copies.
  2. HOW can you play the piano when your fingers are wider than the keys?
  3. I've had about 8 of this particular flaw in my collecting life. And it's always frustrating because I feel like if you submit to CGC they will automatically assume you've married the cover. I found a TTA 27 with this flaw and decided to sell it raw. In my description I stated it was a production flaw and NOT a married cover, but..... it still held the price down. Frustrating It's good to see CGC recognized the Spidey 194 as a manufacturing flaw.
  4. These are GREAT. I've never seen them before. Thanks for sharing
  5. That's a beautiful perfectly placed stamp. I love it. If it's modest in size I don't think it will affect the grade.
  6. The 1946 Roly Poly dancing girl cover was swiped from Alex Raymond 1934
  7. Here's an Alex Raymond swipe from himself. Or maybe this is the first one... it's from 8/12 1934
  8. Did anyone else notice.....
  9. I agree with what's been said. They might have been purposely covering the date cuz it didn't match distribution dates (like why pence copies don't have the date) I love the V2 - 4 stamp
  10. They missed out on a great gag this episode....
  11. Who could have seen the direction Gunn was going to take Vigilante? I love it.
  12. I found myself laughing out loud many times during this episode. Basically any dialogue between Peacemaker and Vigilante is pure GOLD.
  13. A 9.2 purchased at the end of 2020 would have been an AMAZING investment if you were able to find one.
  14. I now believe, because of all the press this story has gotten, that the Tennessee board who banned the book has inadvertently created a situation where tens of thousands of tweens and young adults (who maybe wouldn't have picked up the book) are actively searching out and reading this book. It's a classic "reverse psychology" event...... "YOU CAN'T READ THIS!!!!" and then everyone goes out and reads it. So..... um..... thank you Tennessee Board of Education. Art Speigelman thanks you too.
  15. Captain Marvel was a Billion dollar movie. I think it was a mega hit. I personally loved Shazam. And I believe it was a big hit too. Enough, that they've made a sequel. I agree with your point though. If 0.1% start collecting (which we all hope they do) it's a LOT of people. Like yourself, they might make some mistakes in judgement (although "buying what you like" as you did, I don't think is ever a mistake). If they stay with the hobby (which we hope they do) they'll get educated and make better purchases. Remember it's a "hobby" so enjoy. If you happen to make some money at the same time, that's cool too.
  16. From what I've seen, today's 12/13 year olds seem more like 16/17 year olds from one or two generations ago. Having all the data of the internet on their handheld devises has aged them up a bit. The article mentions "8th grade". I wonder if the book was banned from the High School libraries too.
  17. Yeah, my timing was off..... I was given the book to read by a coworker "back in the old days" It must have been the late 80s. It really made an impact on me.
  18. Oh my lord, this is hard to find in this high of a grade. It's like a unicorn. Congrats. I see 7.5 and with a c&p 8.0
  19. 50% 4.0 50% 4.5 I hope you pull the 4.5
  20. I remember when Maus came out in the early 90s. A friend recommended it and I devoured it (I wish I still had that original copy, but I had the habit of giving great books like that away to friends so they could read it). History class was my least favorite class in High School (bad teacher), so my grasp of WWII was hazy except for "Nazis bad, US & allies good". I had no nuance or depth to what was going on. You don't get that from watching reruns of Hogan's Heroes. I was out of HS when this Maus came out, but I remember thinking it should be required reading for students. The Graphic Novel format really worked for an Attention Deficit guy like me. Remember how impactful Schindler's List was? Well Maus came out 2 years before that film and was just as impactful to me. Tennessee???
  21. I've got a Modern Tier Submission that was received on 8/11. It's been in G/E/I for at least a couple months. Should I expect it'll ship soon?
  22. FF 4 CGC 1.8 with OW-W pages - UK price variant (Only 36 of these price variants have ever been graded according to the census as opposed to 1594 of the ''Cent'' versions) It definitely has not been pressed and has pressable defects. $2300 $2200 shipped
