  1. Might want to look for a coverless copy to replace your interior. Your cover looks great. I'd wager you could up the grade to 4.0 - 5.0 Restored copy with a halfway decent coverless copy.
  2. Wait a minute. This just sold on ebay for $275. And there are FOUR 9.6s available as buyitnows for under $700 with one going for $400. What kind of Shenanigans is this??? Is someone trying to manipulate this book? The "white pages" can't add THAT much to the price. Having said that...... I've always loved this comic and was hoping StarHawk would be a bigger character in GOTG
  3. I just found a complete Suspense 8 in a stack of coverless GA comics. Pretty happy about that.
  4. This one ended yesterday on CL for $280,000 I really wish GPA showed some of these CL results. Their last price for a 6.5 is $24,977
  5. The problem with prying up the tines on a "rusty staple" is that the tine is weak and usually snaps off. Sometimes it works though.
  6. Coming up with this comic ad for "Cloverine Brand Salve" would have made such an awesome episode for "Madmen". - Cloverine executives: "Mr Draper, how can we make our Salve..... EXCITING???" - Don Draper: Takes a drag off his cigarette, stares into the distance, and then.... snaps his finger and says... "I've got it! An all-american 10 year old boy with a machine gun at the Zoo, and an escaped man-eating Gorilla!!!" - Cloverine executives: "What does that have to do with our Salve?" - Don Draper: "We're not selling Salve... we're selling testosterone & masculinity!" - Cloverine executives: "Isn't a machine gun a bit much, I mean..... it's a 10 year old boy!" - Don Draper: "Ok.... .22 calibre rifle. And let's add a girl with a bow & arrow. That'll bring in the female demographic."
  7. The Batman movie release has been "paused" in Russia. For right now.... they get Vladman
  8. ComicLink DD 1 9.2 Sold for $41,000 yesterday. I believe that's a new record high. Sweet.
  9. I'm trying to wrap my head around seeing 100 ten year olds running around the Zoo with their .22s and Bows and arrows. Imagine the chaos.
  10. Advertisement on the back cover. Gorilla escapes and a boy just happens to WALKING AROUND THE ZOO WITH HIS .22 CALIBRE RIFLE????? Not to mention the girl is walking around the ZOO with her bow & arrow. AND..... of course the cops rush in to shake the kids hand and say, "You deserve a medal" HOW did this ad make it past the Comics Code?
  11. That's pretty much the send off that ALL of us want to have if we choose to leave the club.... a record sale. Maybe, because it sold so high, you should consider taking a portion to rejoin the club with a 2.0.
  12. A couple of lucky recent finds for me. Great Crandall covers
  13. Anyone have any early WDC&S wraps? -I need not one, not two, but THREE copies of the 1st wrap to WDC&S #1 -I need a CF for WDC&S 2
  14. The foxing or whatever those stains are takes it down to the 7.0 - 7.5 range for me. A press will work wonders on those spine tics
  15. Looks great, but I don't think I can give it more than a 6.0 with that stain.
  16. Nice tight clean flat comic. Cover & CF are snug at the staples. Worst flaw is a 1/8" tear by the guys wrist on the free edge. A couple of small creases in the lower right. You should be able to see all of the minimal flaws. I love these Reed Crandall covers.
  17. Nice comic. Back cover has two tiny 1/16" tears at the top left. Thanks in advance for your opinions.
  18. This is one of those comics you look at and think "Does someone have a time machine?" It looks fresh off the news stand. As nice as this is.... the staples do have a 'hint' of rust. The rust does not travel to the inside. When you look at the staples at the CF they are shiny. What do you think?
  19. Well..... she bought it 15 years ago back when drek was drek. Drek is way less drekky now.
  20. I have some beater comics from the late 60s that I can use staples from.
