  1. Both great covers! Like the casual use of "chicken" referring to Jughead's date. Also interesting to me is that Jughead was sometimes shown in potential romantic scenarios in his first two decades, and his dislike of girls didn't seem to be played up as it would be moving into the 60's and 70's.
  2. That is good advice for sure! Exactly Whaaaaaaaat?
  3. Reminds me of the inexplicable "nutscaping" that seems to be all the rage.
  4. Looking at photos someone took of somebody else taking selfies is more boring than baseball though, right? That sentence confused me and I'm not sure how to answer. I'm practicing forming "infinity" sentences.

  6. Your post count seems pretty high. I guess it's all relative.
  7. Really? Where do they do that? I'm seeing a lot of misinformation on this thread and not a lot of clarification. Did you go to comics.org? If you had, you'd have gotten the clarification. Here it is. Comics.org's listing for BB 54 clarifies its relationship to the Teen Titans with the following: "Indexer Notes "Kid Flash, Robin and Aqualad - later to become the Teen Titans." I did go to comics.org. There are no stated "factors" for what constitutes a first appearance. As I said, a lot of misinformation on this thread. Not the least of which the claim that wikis are authoritative, something my middle school kid knows is not the case (he'll get down graded for citing wikis as sources in his papers). I never said there were factors for what constitutes a first appearance. I said they explain what factors are relevant to the Teen Titans' first appearance. It lists the three individual superheroes who appear and explains that they later become the Teen Titans. Calling something misinformation does not make it so. Impugning an industry source does not make them un-credible. I'm well aware that it's a wiki. Overstreet is not. In my experience, Overstreet has more errors. The fact that something is a wiki doesn't just address the fact that it could be wrong (as can ANY authority), it tells us that it has mechanisms in place to fix those errors. And calling them a wiki doesn't mean they're wrong. Or else by now you'd have shared the BB 54 panel that proves them wrong. Which you haven't. My apologies if I'm being dense, but I don't follow what the bolded statements mean. What exactly explains the relevant factors of TT's first appearance? The second bolded "explains" loses me, too. There's no explanation, just a statement.
  8. I'm not trying to debate which was the first appearance, I'm more trying to learn in this instance. That being said, comics.org is not infallible. I think the indexers and editors there do a terrific job of compiling data, but how would they know any more than those of us here which comic was the first appearance other than by their own interpretation and perspective?
  9. OK it's either this or something to do with that song by Musical Youth I thought all those "lefts" were just an example of the most basic sort of military marching cadences.
  10. I probably just have a high tolerance for dorkbutters.
  11. I've never done that. I kind of want to know what someone is saying. I take no pleasure in seeing people make incendiary, condescending, or deceitful posts, but I feel I'm better off knowing how someone behaves. It's why I wish sometimes posts or whole threads didn't get poofed. It'd be nice to have a public record to look back on.
  12. To the Jungle? The "P" word makes me uncomfortable Steve... Seriously... If the "P" word makes me uncomfortable, that song will send me into a It shall no longer be mentioned.
  13. To the pleasuredome? The "P" word makes me uncomfortable
  14. Take it to Phil's. We don't need any trouble in this thread.
  15. How were you able to tell they played it? What is it, three notes?
  16. But I'll bet all those kids tell their friends about it now!
  17. Napalm Death's "Scum" is a classic to my mind. It sounded so different from everything else coming out at the time. Napalm Death once appeared on a children's TV music programme to demonstrate different types of music... they didn't play Scum. Leatherface appeared on Emmerdale. Steve or Steve, could you guys tell me what kiddy programme nd were on? Thanks for the link!

  20. Just wondering if anyone went to that big concert/festival in Winchester? Not finding much online about it as far as reviews and such. I saw a poster for the 16th that had loads of punk bands like Subhumans, MDC, Snuff, Restarts, Ruts DC, etc. and thought it sounded like a pretty cool event.
