  1. Gotta get this thread back to the top of the Boards...today was a three different packages day...yay This batch I think that even a certain Roy Delic can appreciate...even sober WM J.I.M. #107 WM J.I.M. # 120 WM Thor #139 WM Thor #149 and a lowly Tales to Astonish #70 Thanks for the forum members who made this purchase possible. Jim
  2. Namisgr: Freakin beautiful book but what else would I say. When you decide to splurge for one without that silly number 63 written on the cover in pen, please LMK Jim
  3. The first J.I.M./Thor comic I have ever owned in my life arrived on the doorstep yesterday thanks to one Captain Tripps. Looking forward to many more in the years to come. Jim
  4. But that one wouldn't be stamped with your birthday and it's only one issue off Jim
  5. Red: Wouldn't that be like your grail book then...thats so cool. BTW Teddie thats a freakin awesome run you've put together. Jim
  6. Brass: I love that TTA #59 Northland which smokes my POS WM 9.2 that has "64" written on it...what a dummy Seriously though BEAUTIFUL that I think is no longer an off white pager. The cover itself looks really white as well. Congrats on those smoking Western Penns as well. Peds + keys = goodness. Jim
  7. These two arrived on my doorstep this morning. Thank you, Telepath. Jim
  8. Plus this reader copy of ASM #42 thanks to Donut. There is a WM #42 9.2 floating around out there so this was a secondary copy. Jim
  9. Three more out of the way for me...thanks to MCMiles Two more should arrive in the next few days thanks to the Flaming One over the pond. Jim
  10. 666 12 cent Marvel Superhero White Mountains exist 203 of these have been graded No Daredevil books have ever been graded Only 1 Tales of Suspense is graded...#39 in 9.6 Only 4 books have grades of cream to off white pages, the rest are all off white or better
  11. Thanks guys...KC you pass on the $2,500 book due to lack of funds, but then pull the trigger on the $35,000 book...uh okay :) Jim
  12. Just negotiated a deal to pick this up today...can't wait for my first WM X-men. Theres only a half dozen White Mountain X-Mens graded, so it is quite a treat. Jim
  13. Arex: Thanks for the compliment. Brass: I am going to hold off for a while getting them slabbed, if I'm sitting a hundred points behind Korvac or something and need to overtake him than I'll do it. Ah who am I kidding, I wouldn't even do that Rich. The 500 points I would get out of them wouldn't even make a dent in the registry scores. So I'll enjoy them raw for a while longer. Jim
  14. I've been told for months they have their own distinctive smell. So one would imagine a beautiful cedar chest aroma or musty basement. Well mothballs it is!!! I'm not one for mothballs but for now on when I enter my Grandmothers basements I will just think White Mountain goodness :) As soon as I saw the centering on the Mass copy...I just couldn't pass it up. Add old label White Pages and you know you're holding something good. Jim
  15. As promised (I know, like anyone cares). First off two Heritage wins from last weekend. Then I was able to pick up these 5 raw White Mountain copies from JHV Associates (amazing guys) this past weekend. It's going to really screw with my registry score though as I have no intentions to have them graded. I so enjoyed opening up the book and getting that White Mountain smell that up until now I had only heard stories about. I love this cover, and picked it up solely as a place holder until the WM copy shows up. It's the Mass copy and it really, really pretty but I can't understand why 67 isn't written on the cover in pen :) Thanks for your interest. Jim
  16. I have almost 10 to add to this thread that I've picked up from Heritage and Chicago but it took me 2 and a half hours to read all the Chicago posts and I need to get to bed. As Arex would say...see ya'll tomorrow. Jim
  17. It would be mine....yay me I put in $1,700 and I guess a floor bidder and I went at it. So far, a pleasurable experience for my 1st time as a Heritage bidder Jim
  18. Noooooooo.....don't post a link to the White Mountain book. I beg you, please no action on that book. It's my first foray with Heritage and I don't want it to end bitterly Jim
  19. Thanks Fazy...hope to add some more to my collection soon but seems I may have some stiff competition for White Mountain Avengers Jim
  20. FF#56-60, but issue #55 is pretty integral to the whole Cosmic Doom storyline. Jim
  21. Angelo: Thanks...I'm trying. I was afraid to post what I was trying to collect before the Heritage auctions end in early August but then I thought maybe people might actually leave the 2 books I'll be going after alone. Here's crossing my fingers and hoping I'll have another couple of additions to this thread in early August Jim
  22. I know, I know. #62, 63, 64 and 65 are all 9.6's..#67 is ONLY a 9.4 though not sure what #68 or #69 are, as I haven't found details on those in my research. I wish they could all be 9.0's and 9.2's...of course then it wouldn't be a pedigree BTW I accidentally stumbled onto this one, and it is currently in transit as well. Now I have to include Ebay.UK in all my searches as well. Jim
  23. No Chips: I know, my wife, children and employees remind me every day ! :) Jim
  24. In the past two months, I've decided to really concentrate on pedigree copies, especially White Mountains and have picked these up recently. and this is currently in transit, and should be in my greasy mitts by the end of the week Jim
