Stay safe and keep your insurance and records up to date.
Pete Marino replied to Garf's topic in Original Comic Art
Glad you and yours are OK Garf. Wishing you well, what a horrible thing to deal with! -
there's a guy on instagram that has some, calls his page the sleepwalker online museum. i think it's @pjswithsleepy

I've been lurking around these boards for over 10 years now, it feel like this same discussion happens every 3 or 4 years. IMO, the hobby has "matured" from art collecting to collectibles. and with that in mind, the context of the page is as if not more important than the quality of the content. Everyone can still collect what they like, how they like, but times, they have a changed....

Time to bar dealers from buying in YouTube claim shows
Pete Marino replied to a topic in Original Comic Art
everyone knows you don't buy rooster man pages for his beak! you want the "<edit> a doodle-doo" panels! -
Wow, does this sound familiar, 3rd act issues.... A great story, with heart, meaningful action scenes and character building. Then they go to an airport and fight some dude with a silly mustache for 45 minutes.

got busy with life, but finished episodes 1 and 2 and am sold. I think they are going in a great direction. Someone better tell Beast Boy that Shark is taken! Don't want to step on any other team's toes.

3rd act cameo teasing the sequel.

Exactly, I was hoping for more of a "Mr Mom" vibe from the Flash movie. Jaws as the major villain.

as a complete mark for Grant Morrison, and the fact they take from his run liberally, you won't get any argument from me on that.

It might be an unpopular opinion here, but I think the HBOMax / DC Series are superior to the D+ / Marvel offerings. I am really looking forward to this and Doom Patrol.

Disney's JUNGLE CRUISE starring Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt (2021)
Pete Marino replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
Watched it with my kids this weekend. The whole movie i kept saying "this is like a bad version of Indiana Jones", the action was also difficult to follow at times. My 9 year old said it was "good", my 5 year old fell asleep during the movie. So, i'd give it a 5/9? entertaining, nothing special, and fun at times.- 31 replies

Mark Millar's JUPITER'S LEGACY on Netflix (2020)
Pete Marino replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
The show was OK. And that was kind of the problem. As I watched it, all I kept thinking of were other shows that did the exact same beat better, quicker and with better FX It's fine for what it is, I hope season 2 picks up the pace and the stakes. Nothing felt like it mattered, and they talked about doing stuff vs actually doing stuff way too much. The show also lives somewhere in a weird place between a CW show and The Boys / Titans. It might be better to choose a lane.- 69 replies

Since I'm on the boards, I'll just answer you It's an aggressive price for sure, heritage was a horrible place to list the art and didn't even mention rifts in the title. Lesser covers were already selling private for 50% more than the hammer on this cover. Plus, over the last few years just about every rifts cover has been snapped up by several collectors and they are impossible to find. The only ones you'll see on caf are John zeleznik's old listings that are gone as far as I know. It might also be the best rifts cover offered for sale in the next 5 years, most are in black holes and will never come out. The game has a fairly small, but rabid fan base. I'm floating it out now, because it's the only one I've never framed, if it gets framed it will be off the market again as well. I watch this market like a hawk, and it's been growing quickly. Do I expect to get 8k? No, but it's worth a lot more than I won it for.

Slowly making time to scan my latest purchases. this is one of those spreads that I was just blown away by. Most of the major MU villains in an insane DPS! I usually don't buy pages when the inks and pencils are on separate boards & can't buy them both at the same time, but this is one example where I think i made the right decision to break my own rule! Pencils: Leinil Francis Yu Blueline Inks: Gerry Alanguilan https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1710338

Really happy to add this one to my collection. I have really enjoyed Hickman's reinvention of the X-Men so far, and wanted to get some good pages from the run. It took a long time to iron out a deal, but dang! It was worth it. X-Men issue 2, page 20 - by Leinil Francis Yu (digital pencils), inks by the late/great Gerry Alanguilan (Ink over blue-line) https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1708791

This was one I was waiting a little while for. It is the 1st published image of Ragged Robin from the Invisibles. This pinup was used in a bunch of the promotional stuff at the comic's launch, including the main poster and the centerfold for the preview comic. I also love that Jill Thompson drew it, since she was the model for the character's design. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1693891

Comunication problem with Cadence Comic Art
Pete Marino replied to Xouman's topic in Original Comic Art
Exactly this, I think anyone who's been in this hobby a while has deals that take months to years to do. But they have some communication. A simple, "we're waiting on the artist and it will be in the mail about 2-3 weeks after we get it" would have put me at ease. That's 30 seconds of work that would earn a return customer. I also want to add that they put a dummy tracking number into PayPal after I paid. I had no idea if it was real and my package was in USPS limbo or not, which only added to my consternation. -
Comunication problem with Cadence Comic Art
Pete Marino replied to Xouman's topic in Original Comic Art
So, no email responses, but a package did arrive, and it had the correct art in it! Very happy with the art, not so much with the communication from the rep. -
WONDER WOMAN 2 directed by Patty Jenkins (11/1/19)
Pete Marino replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
This movie cleared out the room faster than a stinky fart. I was the last one standing to finish the movie. It's not even horrible, it was just... meh.- 1,311 replies
