  1. I think that if you're going to look for people to "break out", they have to do more than comics, or have a status that's beyond comics. There are a limited number of names that I can think of like that. Maybe someone like Chris Ware or Jamie Hewlett. Or someone who's appreciated by the non-collectors. Like Alex Ross.
  2. Wait until a Justin Roliand drawing of Rick and Morty out-sells Kirby covers. Then we'll know the shift has taken hold.
  3. I think i'm really starting to feel the Superhero movie fatigue. Spider-Man and the X-Men are my jams, and I have no interest in seeing either movie until they're on Disney+ or FX (or whatever). And FFH doesn't look like a bad movie at all.
  4. Does Gaiman own Morpheus as Sandman? Does he own any of the characters? I know Vertigo was a lot of creator owned stuff in the beginning, but since this was an "update" to Golden age Sandman, is he a DC property?
  5. As someone with kids, he's a very big deal. The thing is entertainment is very segmented, if you don't go over to Disney jr you'd never know, but Mickey, Minnie and the gang are alive and well
  6. I don't think that is true at all. He was one of the 5 cards you got in x-force 1, none of the "throwaway" characters got that!
  7. Funny, I was fiddling with the site this weekend hoping that they had a mailing list to keep up to date, but it looks like you have to keep track via social media. Stinks, I keep missing the one at Great Adventure, which looks like it could be fun.
  8. Nothing setting off alarms to me. It's a lot more common to fake sketches than published pages. Grab a copy of the book and look at the details of the published page, should line up exactly. That's what I did when something looked off in an old purchase, turned out there were 2 inked copies because of mail getting lost and and I had bought the unpublished version.
  9. I hope this works out! The original animated series was great (at the time, it doesn't quite hold up)
  10. Wonder if it was Liefeld flashing some of that Deadpool movie money! He's posted on Facebook several times that he collects pages from that issue.
  11. It took a bit of pestering but I did get my label. I sent them in about 2 weeks ago and have not heard a word since, thanks for the reminder that I need to see when my replacements are coming. I have a bad feeling i'm just going to get 9.8 rejects or someone else's returns and wind up with copies no matter what though.
  12. I had one =) It took forever to make, and only worked a few times, but damn if it wasn't great! Kismet + Stasis was magical!
  13. There better be some rage quits and arguments over whether the Chaos Orb touched something! And at least 1 wizard walking around with a Stasis deck!
  14. One of the best reps I bought from. It's a loss.
  15. This might be my favorite thing I've seen this year. It really gets going around episode 3, but overall a lot of fun. Can't wait for season 2!
  16. Another fine print thing about Paypal. Partial payments are not eligible for buyer protection, so if you have the person send over payment #1 and note it in the notes / invoice, then a 2nd payment a week later or whatever, they can't screw you over. I found this out as a very young collector when I sent a bunch of money as payment 1 of 2 to an artist in Brazil and then it took nearly 18 months to get the art. I contacted paypal to get my money back after month 6 and they told me i was SOL.
  17. The time i can think that I've done this recently is I wanted an early Spider-Gwen page. Robbi stuff from ESOV2 isn't "out there" that I've seen. So I felt like the next best was a page by the guy who did the high value variant, plus one of her 1st half dozen issues in print. So I grabbed 2 Greg Land pages from Spider-Woman and have not regretted it.
  18. that was not clearly stated in your post at all. I had no clue that page above was the same penciler and inker.
  19. A big part of it for me is who worked on the physical object i'm holding. If it's pencils and inks by the same artist, give me the inks (usually this is only if they do digital pencils and then physical inks, like Jorge Molina or Mark Brooks) if it's inks by a different artist, most of the time, I'd rather have the penciled page vs the inks. In this hobby the penciler is more prominent figure in the creation process, and I want their step in that process vs the Inker. I've had pencils and spent years finding the matching inks, but never gone after the inks 1st then look for the pencils.
  20. I wonder how bad the ratings were that they canceled the show, i thought they really stepped it up season 2 and it was really good! I'm so mad, i'm going to kill all my PC's this weekend as i DM our monthly roleplaying session! Someone must pay, and I know who's getting the bill!
  21. wow, I was surprised, this story even made the BBC world news podcast this morning. https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-48265450
  22. Cool, I finally got a response and sent them back. Hopefully the replacements are not just 9.8 rejects.
  23. Unless it's a mis-direct (which 100% it could be) the next phase is going to be about the multi-verse. A good way to intro a different set of established heroes.... maybe an X-Man or 2? Should we start a (dead)pool on what cameos we're going to see? Wolverine Fantastic Four Spider-Gwen Toby as Old Man Spider-Man?
