Copper's Heating/Selling Well on Ebay
Legion HQ replied to fastballspecial's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
I get the feeling you didn't live through the Copper Age. I grew up in the 80s and fell in love with comics during that period. Byrne, Miller & Perez were the three kings of the era. Zeck to a lesser degree. Then you saw the first flickers of the rock star artists arrive with Art Adams, Peter Hsu & Tim Vigil. And then finally the true rock stars of McFarlane, Lee, Liefeld & Gang arrived on the scene to define the transition away from the Copper Age and into the Modern, or whatever age lie in-between. -

You joke. But that was another hard one to find. That was the other book that I HAD TO HAVE from this auction. -

What in the bowels of hell??

No, they were long gone by the time I visited the Kickstarter page. Would have been very tempting though if any were available!

Jeff Smith started a Kickstarter campaign for his upcoming Tuki graphic novels. The top pledge ($5,000) was limited to 5, and the reward included a Mint copy of Bone #1 1st printing. Jeff had personally pulled those five mint copies from the box 30 years ago and bagged & boarded them at the time, and would include a COA stating so. Needless to say, those 5 pledges went immediately. So, we may see five new 9.8 graded copies pop up on the census this year. Can you imagine if one of those ends up being a 9.9 grade?

The whole Scourge saga fascinated me as it unfolded when I was a kid, so had to pick these up. Justice is served! -

Finally joining back into the Giant-Size X-Men 1 Club thirty years after selling my copy in college. -
They're still in business. I just received my weekly order today. That 'Permanently Closed' note may just be for that particular location.

Black Widow 6 is doing well. Came out today. I like that A cover. -
Holy cow, the first Albedo 9.0 is up to $8400! Interestingly, there's a second 9.0 up a few days later. Wonder how the first sale will affect the second one.

Bronze age comics that are heating up on eBay...
Legion HQ replied to PeterPark's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Micronauts 8 is popping suddenly. Must be some news. -
I thought the same thing bidding on them. What are the graders seeing that I'm not?? Are the back covers bent in half? Those books present REALLY well from the front. A lot of other books did too in the auction, so I'm not sure what's going on with these graders lately. I've noticed it on my own submissions this past year as well. Very tight grading of late imo.

Won in this week's ComicLink auction the two Marvel 25th Anniversary Star issues that I've been mostly wanting, especially the Heathcliff 12 one....

That Usagi Yojimbo 1 CGC 9.8 at ComicLink is up to $1700 now. Am I missing something? The previous high was $750 in November, and the handful of sales since then have come in under that in the $600s.

Issue 1 9.8 (Direct Edition) just sold for $2,980 at ComicLink.
