Well no, because agendas and butthurt are in play. This sales thread moving thing seems like a recent development. I know Dale's thread was initially moved to the Mixed section before it was given a reprieve. And my thread was living happily for 10 days before a kind soul decided to report it. And having the occasional mid-eighties book in GSB has never seemed to be a problem before. Just call a mod and have it moved back

Its not my practice either, but in fairness to those who do it, it is the nature of the marketplace that expenses are passed on to the consumer. And even if most do not ask for +3% on a Paypal transaction, I have to believe they have already factored that into their asking price, or, at least, their bottom line discount. But considering the boards don't take a 10%+ cut like e-bay does, they should just suck it up and not charge the additional 3%. It's almost like they're not smart enough to just "build it into" the costs. Let me ask you then, if they didn't ask for +3% for Paypal, but rather gave "3% off" for those buyers that don't use Paypal, would it be less offensive, or the same thing? What about this one: Paypal (you pay fees) Money Order (3% off) Cashiers Check (3% off) Personal Check (must clear first) Local Pick up (5% off) I hate the +3% and feel its part of doing online business.

No sale at $28k. Opinions? Was it the cream pages? Did the reserve turn people off from bidding? 28k is right middle of last 2 reported GPA so price was correct imo. As others pointed out was a weak 8.0 and the cr-ow doesn't help nor does the reserve.

pretty weak 8.0 I was thinking the same thing too. I don't like the centering as much as I wanted to. Too many tick marks on spine to warrant an 8.0. Seen better looking 7.0/7.5 copies ...and call me crazy but I would like to see a back cover scan without having to ask for it at anything near this price point. -J. Worst thing about Clink. Scroll all the way down in the auction though Argh. Missed that. Doesn't show up in the main pictures section when accessed through the mobile ebay app. -J. Ya the app is still lacking some features for sure. More bids coming in. Over 30k might be more of a possibility now wonder what the reserve is set to

Yes!!! The marathon? Ya ... It was my son's first time seeing the classic Home Alone and he was cracking up laughing. It was better than normally sending him to his room with his ipad so I can watch TWD which is the typical Sunday night routine. Then catching him peaking around the corner so he can see his favorite character Carl... I bought some stuff at HMV for christmas presents...they had a deal on the complete Home Alone series (all 4 but really one 2 matter)...couldn't pass it up...now to sit down and watch it

That's really too bad - what a historical figure, and to end up doing something so unethical taints that iconic status. It's sad to think that one of the best, the most visionary and innovative would throw it all away so easily - especially at an age where people, fans and collectors deeply respect your experience and wisdom. It is my understanding that Beerbohm himself wrote that wiki article. Either Bob or Mitch, no one else could be so oblivious to reality . Can one not edit the wiki page and link it back to here showing how much of a tool he is?

You will see the winning bidder has 100% bid history with them. Ok- so this lead bidder "o***e" has 100% activity with the seller. An obvious shill. One may just not bid much or has a seller they like. The guy has only bid 15 times on 14 items. Hard to say with a big seller like that but I would definitely keep me on the radar.

Yes that's kind of odd but I think it will top $30K easy. -J. That much better presenting than the last 2 8.0s? Doesn't have the nice PQ the last 2 did. True. But 8.0's aren't exactly falling out of the trees and a CR/OW book can easily come back an OW book or better on a resub if it really bothered someone that much. Me personally, I give PQ the least amount of weight on a label, so long as the pages aren't brittle or noticeably Tan on the edges. -J. Wasn't there an 8.0 on CC that sold for $30K+ recently? Or was that an 8.5? Yes Barry did just make his debut on Arrow. Good times. -J. There was a Showcase #4 CGC 8.0 that sold on CC for 29K & change. I was on the prowl for that one, but decided to go with an IH #1 CGC 8.0 White Mtn pedigree copy instead! That Hulk 1 was a sweet pick up, good job on that one. After hearing those GPA results, I am inclined to agree with you guys now, it will probably go a smidge under $30K. But it only takes two squirrels fighting over the same nut to push it past that. We shall see.... -J. Well looks like there is already a bunch of movement on it (which is always a good sign for the seller). I still don't get why they wouldn't start it where they are happy selling it and not set the reserve, as that always scares off a number of bidders. Hopefully not that many with a book like this. Maybe over the holidays will catch up to be current...fill the void of nothing on TV.

Here is my copy. Since I imagine at one point the good sir who gave me this book will read it. Words can't honestly do it justice. I don't think you can find a better sig placement on this book and is by far my most awesome bronze age book I own. As many of you know I am a huge arrow fan and know Neal is a big reason because of that. I don't need to pimp this book or the significance of it. Once again to the individual who gave me this book you have no idea how much it means to me! I will find a way to get you something as legendary for your collection as you have given to me.
