  1. I remember very vividly when 175 hit the stands My best friend at the time who lived a couple of houses down called me and told me it was on the rack at the depanneur (that's Quebecois for corner store ). I literally slammed the phone down on him and RAN to the store to buy it. Good times!
  2. Holy smokes! I came here to post 176 as well! It's almost unanimous...interesting.
  3. Here's a group shot of my #1s (both are quite nice), and my copies of each Omnibus. The gold edition is limited to 3000 copies, individually numbered, signed and sketched . I haven't seem any of these around in many years.
  4. I've got a couple copies of the regular #1...I'll post pics tonight. I also have The Tick Onmibus gold edition, that's signed, numbered and sketched by Edlund. I haven't seen another in many years...
  5. From another forum...not me and not taking credit for it. DArn funny though
  6. I could have sworn I posted on here years ago... I've had my copy for well over 20 years. Beat but complete
  7. Strangely enough, I was just consigned by a friend who is now living in Australia to sell all his original toys...Transformers and a HUGE He-Man assortment. Just reading up on the value of these things and it looks like I've got a pile of cash sitting in my spare room
  8. I posted this in the foreign thread in CG, but I'll put it here for you as well. Pretty hard to find, so I was happy to grab it... Éditions Héritage, printed here in Quebec. Really nice shape as well!
  9. Got my scanner up and running...here are a few: Fun books to dig up
  10. I picked up a clean 1st gen PS3 at a garage sale Saturday morning for $20...it's got the YLOD problem that I can either fix myself or have fixed for under $50. This is a fun box as it plays PS1 and 2 games as well ...
  11. It's in really nice shape...I couldn't believe it. I'll scan it and post it later on. I read the story as well, and I have to say the translation is terrible.
  12. Here is a quick group pic of a few Heritage editions I had handy. There are a couple there that I haven't run across another copy of, particularly the GI Joe 21...
  13. I've been picking up the Heritage French Canadian editions for a few years now as I always found them fun to have alongside the originals. I'll try to post some pics tonight
  14. Just finished The Fountainhead, and have just started We The Living (both Ayn Rand). I read Anthem first, and then read her 3 novels in.reverse chronological order, and it's been quite rewarding seeing the evolution of the three books. Again, beautiful stuff
  15. Almost finished Atlas Shrugged. Starting The Fountainhead right after. Beautiful stuff
  16. Just finished Anthem, and am pRt way through Atlas Shrugged. On an Ayn Rand kick...truly great stuff. Everyone who isn't a socialist should really read Anthem
  17. I have a Wolverine #2 (1990 series) that I bought off the newsstand myself, and when I got home I realized it was a double cover. Only one I own. And I still have it.
  18. I always wanted an Axis cover, and on my trip to NYC in 2008, I picked this up for the same price 3 or 4 moderns would have cost me, so I couldn't refuse (sorry for the crappy pic):
  19. I think the issue showed just how badass this group has gotten at surviving. Great book!
  20. Here's a blurry pic of a Kurt Busiek/Scott McLeod letter in Marvel Spotlight #1 (let side letter):
  21. Thanks. Wine is another one of our vices. BTW, the open armoir was the home to the Can. Ed. Ghost Rider #1 for quite a while. We have expensive coasters as well...
  22. I have some not-so-great pics of my setup at my place where I've been for a year and a half. It's a second floor, big 5 1/2 of a duplex though not quite as big as a house to one's self. I had to be a bit creative, and have a girlfriend who likes my stuff to get things to where I'm at (and happy). I've got my 3 comic armoirs beside each other along the inside wall of the dining room where they fit just perfectly. They are 6 feet high, 2 1/2 wide and 16 inches deep. The best stuff is organized in dividers (see open door pic), and the rest are arranged inside 2 rows deep...they hold A LOT of books, and hidden from view until you want to see them. On top is my sketch and original art collection.
  23. Would you consider maybe selling the coverless Whiz 1?
  24. Not sure I've ever posted in this thread. 27 year X-Men collector here and I prefer quantity over quality. I'm slowly trying to fill in my 1-66 run with complete but cheap low grade copies. All I have left to get a 15 or so issued from 20-up. Here is a group shot I've posted on the boards before:
