  1. I watched this last week, and it lost my attention quite quickly.  I love funny stuff, I enjoy old horror stuff.  I guess I just really don't enjoy the mixing of the two and that goes back to Evil Dead 2.  I was a kid when those movies camne out and I wore outy a VHS copy of the original Evil Dead.  I saw 2 in the theatre asap when it came out and I was really disappointed, and I was 14 or so at the time.  So I guess it's just me ;)

  2. The last episode was very good, and was my least favorite episode overall at the same time.  Good to know the back story, and the show runners are consistent in how they tell their story.  Maybe it's nitpicking (and I'm the least nitpicky guy) though I've never seen people so noisy in a post-apoctalyptic world, ever.  Maybe is so long after they don't realize the danger, or the impetuousness of youth...it drives me a bit nuts though ;)

No one wants dealer stickers on their slabs.  If the dealer is big enough to have a sticker in the 1st place, then I would think you could trust that dealer to buy slabs from.

Understandable, though the sticker should/woud be along the edge of the case, bridging the two halves of the case together.  Would not be visible from the front or the back.

I thought of this as well, however, the problem is routine handling and rubbing could easily tear a frangible tamper evident  sticker on the outside of the slab. They would have to figure out some way to put the sticker on the inside of the slab to show that had been cracked or the label and/or inner well have been removed.

I don't thing that would be necessary overall.  The goad would be an added line of defense,  Looking at the sticker, and it being compromised or worn would simply give a potential buyer another reason to dig deeper into the actual book being purchased.

That said, maybe dealers can start making their own tamperproof stickers and put them on books they sell, as a seal of quality.  If the dealer is big enough it could make them stand out from the crowd.  Could also prove provenance.

I hope this prompts Marvel to scrap The whole multiverse movies.  I didn’t really like those stories in the comics and after Dr Strange was such a train wreck I hope they go a different direction.

I keep praying that this phase will break and kill the Multiverse with the defeat of Kand.  They can/will have remnants from all the universes squished together and from there can restart things without ever having to revisit the Multiverse again.  Unless it's to directly start Marvel Zombies ;)

  6. Again, scammers at this level will try to prey on the FOMO phenomenon.  All scammers in all fields do this.  You get offered a good deal on something and a lot of people will get excited and jump on it.  It's not a big deal with a $50 item that looks good though turns out to be fake...big deal.  Seems like this deal was for a good amount of money, though with just such a discount that the buyer probably figured that if he didn't pull the trigger that moment, he'd lose that more than decent deal.

  7. I think the episodes are getting better and better each week, and I'm still llooking forward to each new episode.

I have no issue with the lack of people/infected being seen.  I feel like people forget how BIG our countries are, and I totally believe people could go as long as they did without seeing anything or anyone.  Heck, we could do that now...nevermind after an apocalypse.  One thing annoying is the girl makes LOTS of noise, all the time!

I would think if you are paying 50k for a book, or anything similar $ wise you'd take the time to ensure what you are buying is not a fake

if you are concerned about fakes, better to pay more from a trusted and established seller (of which there are a ton of)

I cannot tell you the # of times I've seen an amazing fantasy 15 (or similar) listed on CL, FB that the price seems to good to be true

I never made an attempt to contact because it was more a gamble that a "miracle buy"

the CGC label and case should not be a reason for people for them not to do their homework

not trying to be harsh, but people do your due diligence when making substantial purchases

The thing about this is that those scams were there to try to get you to send cash before getting the book, hoping to catch someone with a heavy case of FOMO.  Here, you're getting a tangible (fake!) item in hand.  This is something we haven't really seen before in our arena.

I think there's gonna have to be a new kind of way to identify books...an RF chip embedded with each book in the the case might work.  Like pets!

I had a question about this-- when I left gas in my lawnmower tank over the winter, the thing wouldn't even start in the spring until I drained it and refilled with fresh gas.  Here, it looks like you just have a mpg efficiency issue with old gasoline.  Do I just have a crappy lawnmower, or were the writers taking liberties with the actual physics of 20-year-old gasoline here?

Also: it seemed odd that the characters saw no one on the road the entire way from Boston to KC.  But the brother made it out to Wyoming not long ago?  And the reputation of the KC Fedra was well-known to residents of the Boston QZ?  Maybe they will address this in future episodes (very occasional well-armed convoys moving back and forth, perhaps)

Yeah, I have 5 cars and 3 sit for 6 months+ each year due to our outrageously cold and snowy winters (parked outside).  My cars fire right up.  I actually like to keep them as empty as possible before parking them (against many people's conventional wisdom), that way I head right to the gas station and fill up with fresh gas and wash the older stuff out.

As well, some cars will run on any crappy gas, and some won't.  A Chevy pickup like that will run on whatever ;)

I'm cautiously optimistic it will be a good time, but Kang always seemed like such a minor villain to me - not remotely in the same league as Dr. Doom, Thanos, etc.

Same.  Been collecting and reading for over 40 years and Kang was never even a blip on my radar.  I'm waiting for The Brood to make their appearance in the MCU when the X-Men finally join properly...THAT'LL be some good stuff if done right.

    Great episode

But hey, in that world the very last place youd cut for blood would be the palm of your gun hand

Its a small thing but cmon man

Really amazing episode again, and it's the only show I look forward to watching anymore at all.

And that bugs me as well...in ALL movies and shows people are always cutting themselves like that for their specific reasons.  I try to imagine all the characters who die from septic infections a few weeks after ;)

  12. BAck in the very early 90s when we had our comic shop, an older guy walked in with a manilla envelope asling if we bought comics.  I said we did indeed...he pulled out high grade copies of all the late 50s DC books in pretty darned high grades.  Action 252, AC 245, Flash 105, etc.  We unfortunately didn't have the cashflow at the time to grab those books and had no choice at that point but to let the collection walk :(

As well, at Astro Books here in Montreal (my longtime LCS), I walked in to pic up my pull list...and a few people are fawning over a pretty sweet looking copy of Action Comics 2 that was actually missing it's back cover. One of the guys was buying it...for the hefty sum of $600.  This was mid 90s if I remember correctly.
