    That's it for the albums!

The entire collection was close to 1800 records, not much rock but lots of late 70s-80s albums and maxi singles, comedy and more soundtracks.  I have some like Prince's Purple Rain (sealed) HERE, let me know if there's something specific from that time frame anyone is looking for.

Thanks for the purchases & for looking, let me know if there are any questions!

    Any other 80s horror soundtracks?

  2. I own one (numbered, no letter though) and am ok with that result. Had no idea unnumbered but signed ones were floating around. Maybe a one off or just a few?

I wasn't even sure a #'d print would go for that amount. It's a very nice print and is signed... but as someone said earlier in the thread - it is still a print!

And just because I can, what you have here are:

    • CM4, CM6, CM7, DL4, DL6, DL10, I8, M2, WG8, WGR3, WGR5, X6: First (and only) printings.
    • Q1: Third or fourth printing. If there is an ISBN on the back cover, bottom left, then it's 3rd. Else, 4th.
    • S1-4: On the back cover, if the TSR address is on Rathmore Road, it's a first printing. If it's 120 Church End, second printing.
    • T1-4: Hoo boy. This is one of the first five printings; after that, they changed to the gold tablet TSR logo. On the back, look for the bar code. If there's an ISBN and a Product Number immediately above it, then it is either a first or second printing; they are indistinguishable on sealed copies. If the PN is inside the bar code, and there is NO ISBN, then it's either a third or fourth printing; they are indistinguishable on sealed copies. If it has no PN, but an ISBN above the bar code, it's a fifth printing.

As far as value goes, none of these are great rarities, although most modules of this era in original shrinkwrap sell quite well. CM7 goes a bit higher than most of these. Your most important modules, value-wise, are WGR5 Iuz the Evil and both superadventuers (S1-4 Realms of Horror and T1-4 Temple of Elemental Evil). In particular, T1-4 is a very popular book. Assuming that it appears sound inside the shrinkwrap, that's conceivably a several hundred dollar module, especially if it's a 1st/2nd printing copy.

Wow, so a tiny bit of knowledge! I will check them. S1-4 is on church, so 2nd and T1-4 looks like a 5th. Barcode has a # and above, outside the barcode box, is the ISBN. Oh well. I have 60-80 open ones (probably on lower end) and hardcovers. Those vintage books and modules are just so classic.

Is any of that documented anywhere or is that all Qalyar-fu?

Otherwise, AFAIK, shrinkwrapping is indistinguishable across the product line. I wouldn't break wrap to get modules slabbed because, at least right now, the "SW" grade is a bigger cachet in the module collecting community than encapsulation. It'll be interesting to see if that holds true 5 or 10 years down the line.

Would CGC not grade a SW book and consider it sealed, similar to video games? Or do you feel CGC would not grade it due to inability to verify the seal was original?

  5. Never really occurred to me that you'd get these graded, but sure, why not. Especially for a sealed example unless you plan to open it -- might as well slab it if that's your thing. The questions of grading and validating all the details will be an interesting thing to watch. Were these all wrapped similarly, etc? I have 15-20 sealed modules, but not sure I'd ever grade 'em.

  6. The cards largely remain worthless though, right? This is about the PSA 9 and 10 chase, so pristine examples of "key" cards and sealed boxes/packs are hot. Binders of loose cards even in good shape do not seem as much a draw, though obviously moreso than 3+ months back.

I figure the market remains hot until the graded cards start popping the census and the commonness of the cards becomes more obvious

  7. May be checking out a small collection with solid keys. Theyre a bit sparae on info despite having a pretty precise list. Just a few pics of individual books (not the ones I wanted to see) and general good/fair condition assessment

Books of note, ASM 129, Avengers 2, Conan 1, Ghost Rider 1, Nick Fury 1-6, Dardevil 5-9, Cap 100-104. Just under 100 books total.

Despite the warning flags I think its legit and think the books may be in a bit better shape from the pics though not by a ton. Only sent pics of Cap 100 and DD 5 of those.

Given those books along with late SA/BA mixture, what might be a good price if all in good shape only?

Will post back if I make the pickup!

  8. Magneto is definitely #2. Great character, powerful, longevity. Hes got it.

Of course the Sentinels are #1.  As a creation of the sixties the X-men have always been a proxy for race relations and other cultural Strife in our nation. The Sentinels are the personification of this struggle with regular humanity. For me they have always represented the greatest villain or threat that the X-Men and mutants face.
