  1. Tell that to the people trying to buy an affordable copy of Mystery Tales #40 now.
  2. I think it was a really bad day and time to end both those auctions, I always try to end mine Sundays 10-11PM to take all time zones into account.
  3. And this is why even if it was proven to be a "first appearance", it would never reach the heights that BA12 has. There could never be a 9.8, never a Signature Series copy, or never even a .5. CGC doesn't consider it a comic.
  4. I don't think that's any more relevant than the copyright date. I mean the lead time for having a golden book published could be significantly longer than the lead time for a comic book...or not. Either way, when the art was drawn wouldn't prove anything. Shhh. These guys are going to unprecedented lengths. Logic may slow them down.
  5. This thread slowed down quick when the copyright Divad showed had BA12 listed as being released a week earlier than the tape book. I wonder why?
  6. Every time I see his signature I think the same thing.
  7. Compared to the Cap trailer, this just looks boring and cheap.
  8. Right now the plan is to keep one and sell one, but it depends on the grades. I'm confident of at least 9.6 on both, possibly 9.8 if the stars align.
  9. My two copies are sitting at CGC as "Received", but they're fast tracked so maybe they'll be graded this week.
  10. Both covers of Cap #34 (Bucky becomes Cap) signed by their respective cover artist, Steve Epting and Alex Ross:
  11. I'm thinking the episodes will get better after they burn through what they've already filmed. Now that it's picked up for a full season and new episodes will be written and filmed, I think they will answer the criticisms leveled at it so far. They do need to take the Marvel characters up from z-listers like Scorch up to people who are at least c or b-listers though.
  12. There is no way that is below a 4.0 unless the back cover is off.
  13. That copy is probably a 1.5-1.8 in all seriousness.

  15. I can't wait to hand it over to you
  16. Wow... would absolutely love to have that one. Now, just get a stan lee sig on it (it's his first published work for timely) while he's still giving sigs, and that would be my ideal book. Mind if I ask how/where you came by it? I do plan on getting Stan to sign it on the splash page right beside Kirby's sig. I came by it two weeks ago when I saw it pop on my eBay feed (I had saved Cap #3 to show up when one was listed) and within a minute of it being up, I shot the seller a quick email to get some more background on it since he hadn't ever sold anything on eBay and only had 9 feedback altogether. He told me about how he had Jack Kirby sign it himself at a San Diego Comic Con in the late 80's and told me the things that Kirby had mentioned to him it the time. It seemed pretty genuine and more than what a common scammer might know about the history of the issue, so with that in mind I decided to take a chance and go ahead and buy it. Needless to say, I was very happy when it really came. Hey it can happen, just stay focused, and constantly stay on the lookout. I was able to buy it for cheaper than what a Walking Dead #1 CGC 9.4 goes for, so you just have to set a focus and priorities when chasing books that are like white whales.
  17. The Harley book I'd want after BA #12 would be her first appearance in the normal Batman comic continuity.
  18. Hey, you've gotten me to jump on the Harley bandwagon, so that's a plus. I'm going to fast track my two raw copies to CGC next week, both are strong 9.6, possible 9.8 candidates.
  19. The eBay auction for the blue 9.8 ended today at $747............. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Batman-Adventures-12-CGC-9-8-WHITE-Pages-1st-Harley-Quinn-1993-DC-id-9766-/360756052847?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&nma=true&si=0W53uhog9xJhk009cFcwn%252FHX86I%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
  20. I had my eBay set to alert me whenever a Cap 3 popped up, and within 2 minutes of this going up Monday I hit the "Buy It Now"!
