  1. In happier news, the HoS 106 made it through the postal system with no mishaps.
  2. Yea, this book is killing me. I'm totally bipolar about this transaction. One moment, I'm like yea f it I'm sending it back to the buyer. The next moment I'm like, HoM209, I've been looking for you for about year and luv you.... I emailed CGC to get the grader notes on this book to see if that corner is a preexisting condition. I mean other than that, it's a nice copy.
  3. Unfortunately, I ran into some shipping issues with this book. The seller shipped this book with some less than stellar packaging and the post office shattered the case and possibly did a small amount of damage to the book itself. HoM209
  4. I scored another Bernie Wrightson cover on eBay that I think I'll be pleased with.
  5. Thanks for the welcome and I plan on sticking around for a while.
  6. It is about time, IMHO. I started picking up copies a couple of years ago, but chickened out on that 9.6 that was sitting on Clink for a while. The ask price was $1500, but when I put in lowball offers it triggered a confirm purchase at $825. Wish I had done it, because a 9.6 might be a $1500 book now. After selling these two all I am down to in hand is this copy: Top 5 Adams Batman cover IMO. Not easy to find in high grade either. I don't usually go after 9.8 insanity but this was too nice to pass up. Great looking book. Love the wrap on it. (thumbs u Yep, that's a fantastic cover on a nice book. I assume that's Talia that's tied up in the center of the guards setting batman up for the kill? I've never seen the inner story. Is there a nice HC trade that collects all of these stories on some decent quality paper?
  7. Thanks much. I'm pretty happy with my sets but when I explore the registry I can only look on with envy at everyone else's awesome books.
  8. Just plucked this one from eBay back on the 12th. I'm still waiting for it to arrive in my greedy paws. I think it must have taken Magellan's route from Knoxville to DC. This appears to be the only documented 9.6 sale on GPA since the Don Rosa went back in 2005.
  9. Thanks. Here is book #3 of my Wrightson Sig Series adventure. My very favorite Wrightson cover of all time. (The things that look like tears on the right edge are production wrinkles.) Man, I love that book.
  10. I love my 9.4, but I'm tempted to see what would happen if I listed it on eBay myself. . . . . . . . 'Course, I'd probably regret it the day after. Your's is the Rocky Mountain copy right? I'd totally try to snatch that one up and return my 9.2 back into the wild.
  11. 227 I'd imagine. Yep. I was actually surprised it lasted that long. I wonder if i left money on the table. Either way, it's a new GPA record. Wow! Congrats on the sale, Supa. Yep, congrats. Plus, now I'm not the only person_having_a_hard_time_understanding_my_point who's paid just under 1k for this book in 9.2. Thanks for making that happen for me. (thumbs u
  12. If the economy continues to "appear" to get better", I imagine you'll see more people willing to release the strangle hold on their wallet. Who knows, I've certainly never seen more than one nice 227 floating out on eBay at any one time.
  13. Wasn't that a TV show in the seventies? I haven't thought about that in years.
  14. Ahhh, it was a simpler time back then. I'm sure folks weren't saying to themselves, WTF, is this NAMBLA marketing material?
  15. I bought the Oakland copy of Batman 241 in the old case late last year on eBay. I sent it in when the PO busted my case for 253 while in transit. Both just came in today looking, IMHO, fantastic. And of course my 253 from Rocketeer, not an Adams but happy to have it back after a near fatal run in with the post office.
  16. Is that a Dominguez cover. If so, that's got to be the first one that I've seen that I actually like. (thumbs u
  17. Good luck finding a decent Tec 395. This is a real tough one to find in decent shape. Even more so than the 227 because it doesn't get as much press. In the last 9-10 months or so, I've only seen about three 9.2s and one 9.6. Of the 9.2s, two out of three had either crappy PQ or horribly mis-wrapped. The one 9.6 was a Twin Cities copy that sold over at Heritage for $3700+. I had a winning bid of $3585 on the TC copy until my internet connection came to crawl and someone else took it. Wounded up having to overpay for the one 9.2 with W pages at CL. I had two 9.2 Tec 395s last year and parted with the miswrapped copy. This one cost me $20 raw on the boards a year or two ago. Not for sale, but these two will be sent to Joey then CGC in my next batch of Adams. I love the content and colors of this book. I would be interested in finding a decent copy of this.
  18. Nice TDMoFL #1, that series is certainly on my list! Especially issue 3.
  19. $40 for two small cracks does seem excessive. Perhaps USPS could use a good fisting to help tighten up their package handling techniques.... I'm just saying....
  20. Just won this one from clink last night. Now if I only I can get a copy with the J. Catherine Jones cover.
  21. This one?... I prefer the colors on this one much more than the original green. I agree, I think if I was planning on dropping 1-2K on a book I would want it to be some color other than green. The brown would do fine.
