+1 I really believe that LSCC has given the UK industry a well deserved kick to the nadgers. Wandering raound the stalls and listening to the conversations between buyers and dealers there were obviously a lot of noobs / starters asking genuine questions about starting up a collection and grading (Every time I passed Nick he was giving someone advice on what to buy). Combine that with the sudden lack of Forbidden Planet and the other usual suspects **cough-Incognito-cough** (Probably due to the self awareness that their own stock and grading would be laughed out of the water) it shows that UK collectors are now becoming more decerning and demanding of quality. With demand comes supply Well said. Incognito and Silver Acre have had it too easy for too long and have gotten away with murder. Hopefully, this fresh competition coming in offering deep inventories of properly graded, fairly priced books will put them in their place. It's up to us to support the good guys and make our fellow collectors aware of the bad ones. Back in the dim and distant past I had some decent transactions with Dave Finn of Incognito. I don't know if Dave even does the grading anymore or whether it's a case that he's become complacent over the years but I probably wouldn't buy from him currently. As for Silver Acre I wouldn't touch Darryl with a barge pole. The back issue scene in the UK was due a shake-up and it can only be good thing for us when the established "names" are given a swift (hard) kick up the collective arse...

i wonder if that person was they same ones opposite Nick last week, they had the same thing I think it was Scott's Collectables OT - Darren, those Bat books are on their way however I forgot to include the scan disk, it'll follow 1st class Back On Topic. I stopped going to the Golden Orbit marts several years ago. They are great if you are after low grade readers (I managed to pull the entire run of Animal Man for about £30 once). After my slight overspend at LSCC, I'll be giving Kapow (And the rest) a miss in 2012. I'm already saving for LSCC 2013 Should be going to the Hudderfield Giants V Wigan Warriors game the night before so might pop along to the Golden Orbit Mart in Sheffield on 19th of May for a browse Should be a good game that, I will be watching on SKY, if they put it on. Yes, both teams currently going well in the league so fingers crossed they can keep it going until May. I'm a Wigan fan but I must admit to being impressed with Warrington...they are a pretty good team to watch and if they can get their heads right could challenge the big three of Wigan, Leeds & St Helens! Agreed, and Huddersfield can beat anyone on the day. Yeah, they can be a handful alright!

I won't be going to Kapow as I'll be Up north...I have a feeling it will be alot quieter this year due to LSCC being such a hit earlier in the year.

I doubt that I'll go to Kapow this year, I went last year and there doesn't seem any point I going after having been to LSCC especially since they put their ticket price up this year. I'm planning to set up at the Royal National later in the year for the first time in four or five years. I'd be interested in knowing how the show is doing since being under new management.
