  1. Cheers Glad you had a good time...Didn't Stan have a 'Senior' moment and signed the Mylar instead of your comic Stan is nearly 90 now so it was a major coup to get him to come over. Fingers crossed for the London Con becoming the premier annual event in the UK for years to come.
  2. You never forget how...it's like riding a bike.
  3. Cheers Garry, Dad is busy critiquing my tea making ability at the moment...Somehow his cuppa is never hot enough
  4. Thanks mate (thumbs u Yeah I don't know what all the fuss was about
  5. Well I'm still in Wales! I missed the Con and the rugby but my dad is now out of hospital (he had a fall and has broken his collar bone) so that's a relief! Glad to hear that everybody who went to the con had a great time
  6. I'm just about to head back to Wales at short notice so not sure if I will be able to make the Con now. Hope everybody making the pilgrimage has a great time and the event is a smash! Have a good one PCC
  7. Btw If anyone manages to entice a scantily clad Stan Lee back to their hotel room treble points will be awarded...
  8. I'll take the pics of the scantily clad women then, and if they're lucky, back at my hotel room too I'd stick my neck out and say if Bane manages to entice a scantily clad female back to his digs it would be a first on this board and he'd be seen as the con's
  9. It's a great room but those Turkeys scare the "fu@k" out of me!

Brings back memories. Or half memories at least. Had the worst hangover ever from drinking ouzo as a teenager so I now give it a wide, wide berth!
  11. Yes...Well until the show starts and then if it's anything like the first 6 or so episodes of series 2 I'll give you 10 mins until you are sleeping like a baby!

  14. I actually think for a sig series, the grade is less important than the sig. In other words, where you wouldn't normally get a non key bronze age book in say 6.0 slabbed, if the writer or artist is signing it and it's getting a yellow label, then that makes it worthwhile. Also, if you've got an eye on profit, getting a CGC yellow label with an in demand sig can add value to an otherwise (more or less) worthless book. you raise an interesting point
  15. Bat #181 9.4... (thumbs u Bat #232 9.8… I’m bringing some books for Dai Still toying with the idea of having a Swamp Thing signed by Wrightson but its too low grade to really be worth slabbing but then whats the point of an unverified sig. That's the main reason why I haven't been bothered with getting anything signed in the past
  16. Hi Gaz Good luck with setting up the business, be sure to tell us UK boardies when you have everything up and running. cheers Dai
  17. Just had my memory jogged in another thread so will now also be keeping my eyes peeled for 'Tales of the Zombie' Mags
  18. Hope this helps David Lloyd Thanks for the link (thumbs u. Weird though, because it gives David LLoyd a cover credit for Warrior # 11, but according to Dez Skinn who is selling a NM copy on ebay, the cover was by Gary Leach. Confused.com That is confusing but I suppose Dez Skinn would be in the know
  19. After some technical glitches I'm back. Very similar to you in that my main focus will be relatively HG bronze age plus bags and boards. Looking at early Defenders issues (#10 in particular) plus Byrne era UXM. As for DC I'll be after some nice Jim Aparo stuff!
  20. or will it be a case of 'after the lord mayor's show comes the dust cart' No one will be posting as they will be too busy drooling over their purchases...or nursing hangovers...or both (thumbs u
  21. Best get those drinking muscles back into training.11 Days to go... Was the rugby any better live than on TV?? At one point I was about to curl up into a small ball and try and drink myself into a Guiness-based oblivion. Well the 2nd half was a lot better than the first!...but it was the result that counted
