  1. I cab remember waiting and waiting for that first set to arrival...and when it did...it blew me away....what an achievement.
  2. We lost a "giant" this week. He played a very critical role in getting comic book art accepted as just that..COMIC ART..his publications were FIRST class all the way. The EC portfolios were to me....amazing. In my many contacts with him and Bruce he was always fair and honest. His gusty move from a university professor-to comic art publisher was unheard at the time. I salute you...for the many many things you have done to promote comic books, art, and class. A true comic book collector has left us..........
  3. E-Bay has come a long way...down The best way is collector to collector...always will be..BUT auction is my second choice...no longer comic book conventions and comic book shops.. "the times they are a changing"
  4. My Top 5 in the upcoming auction 1-Marvel Tales #95 9.6. The best book in the auction. The condition is incredible. 9.6..what person buying that book would NOT READ it....a freak..best copy on the planet of one the greatest monster covers of all time. One chance to get this.... 2-Famous Funnies #214..one of the top ten comic book covers of all time..the color of this copy is amazing...great stuff 3-Forbidden Worlds #1--I believe undervalued..great condition 9.6..GREAT CONTENTS as well....cannot go wrong. 4- Jumbo 16..9.8..go back with a time machine..and it would be still hard to find a book that condition...bought..never read...stored in a basement for you..... 5- TIE: Superman 1 3.5...a very strong 3.5 it is...great copy and of course Cap1 7.0...Catman do you hear me....pull the trigger on this copy...before it doubles in the next 5 years.
  5. not me...but it looks like some type of "investor" flipper...my gut feeling
  6. 2 million wont cut it..he turned down over 1+ million years and years ago, when I spoke to him....if you lucky lowest price would be 3 Mil in a fire sale...probably 3.5 but i think it worth every penny of 4-5 million in that unique condition . Good Luck
  7. you have a point here....maybe best candidate for upgrade.
  8. They do not buy the platform, they pay a user fee or a % of the auction results. I am talking about the next generational platform...which will separate the Men from the Boys. You never know...but the next Gen stuff is going to be mind-blowing
  9. Maybe a CL or smaller firms uses the platform first..either way it is gonna take time, HA is attempting to get a bigger share of the market by adding additional auctions...time will tell
  10. I can remember XM Radio vs Sirius..they were big time rivals. both going on forever in war..and then BINGO.....$$$$ became a issue. At some point since Ha is a billion dollar company..its platform is going to dominate even greater...I see if calm minds going for the most effective $$$$..something down the line is gonna happen not a buy-out but some time of sharing. Same with the CGC and the other guy...look for industry consolidation at some point in the future.
  11. I can second that opinion, BB was qualified as an "expert of the court" for the comic book valuation to determine the value of the stolen items.
  12. If you look at the volume of 1350 lots the number is low...it is 1500 plus...so until they catch up...the number of auctions might mean more material minus the size. There is no doubt in my mind that Ha/CC will someday either merge or share the same platform since Ha's is so much superior.
  13. GA rock GA rocks...cover in Frank R Paul style...keep them coming
  14. what a amazing book...very undervalued in my book...
