  1. Bought them both off the newsstand. Back then, ST ann#1 caused quite a stir....looking at the newsstand I said "what is THIS" WOW a 25 cent giant. Same if with FF annual #1 but by that time...the secret was out...Marvel comics overtook DC as preference for collectors
  2. That is a book once you own it, you cannot top it..so why get rid of it....I think two copies max next year in auctions.
  3. those could be dupe sales copies, I think CC has them on the early sales .. and of course DD
  4. told you....I know he came mighty close....but it would of been amazing
  5. There is only one original..Steve Dikto.....everybody else bow to the king
  6. Buy the best grade you can afford and still be able to buy more comics down the road, 9.8 is as good as it gets but I would reserve that quest for covers that are you all time favorite.
  7. I bought these new...during that time they were considered reprints with little value other than you can put one in your collection as a substitute if you did not have the issue which were hard to get at point. As they stayed in record stores for 5 years or so..it was at the tail end that collectors began to buy them up as the reprint became more valuable than 1.99 they were charging and the record by the way was terrible.
  8. It is a great issue and great point but I would go with Action 252 still..close but no cigar
  9. As I recall, Robert's store was used in the movie Crumb also as well as knowing him. Both very serious about Jazz 78's
  10. Besides comics, Robert has one of best original 78RPM Jazz record collections still. My understanding is that possibly Robert will travel to France and bring some of his collection there for a second trade. I know he still has thousands of items including original art in storage after his big E-bay store shut down and that he sold some of the duplicates but keep all the Good stuff. I think he wants to sell it in one big lump and continue with his comic book history book which the funds would help launch. You are gonna need a Big truck to take it all. I agree classic Crumb.
  11. The annuals definitely took it up a level...FF1 annual is in my top 3 FF's of all time...the quality of these books are astounding. I started with the big Strange Tales Annual @1 in 62, But in 63 when FF1 came out it really was unlike any comic book I had seen before...I think 36 pages...what a deal for 25 cents....Buying and reading that created such an impression, I can still remember where I bought, whom I bought it with)my Mom)...and seeing on the drugstore rack....saying WOW
  12. I would second that along with its exact size
