  2. Foreign key blow out sale! Need to build up some money quick, priced to sell! All pricing includes shipping here in the states. If outside of USA shipping will be a bit more. First and it is yours! Fantastic Four 48 Dutch CGC 5.0 signed by Stan Lee. 275.00 Brazilian EBAL All Star Western 10, cool book not often seen...... some rust on the staples but this is pretty usual with these older Brazilian books. 200.00 Australian Yaffa Iron Fist 14! A killer digest size foreign key. Def on the rarer side...... 115.00 Swedish Pocket FF48. Another neat little book...... 35.00
  3. Yes that thread should tell you a bunch about these books. THey are not variants but editions. Filipino editions depending on bookstore. That Xmen is a National bookstore book. Very rare, these books are some of the rarest Marvel Bronze/Copper books on the planet. Great book!
  4. The French and the one from Chile..... Hoping one day to finish.
  5. Thanks man, I shoot all my sets against that backdrop. One more and I am done..... Smaller set but still cool cuz of the variation.... still building this one! 2 to go.....
  6. Dude Marwood, if this type of thing turns you on.... the foreign niche is taylor made for you brah!
  7. Yea true... This thread was made for foreigns man. My 300 set is another favorite of mine.....
  8. This thread needs a bump.... many foreign niche collectors are still doing what we do! Some recent adventures in set building. Updated sets..... 1
  9. Yea in the early days we used to call them variants.... after much soul searching within the niche though we chose to adopt "edition" as a more accurate classification. As far as pricing the foreign market it is extremely chaotic. Sometimes foreign editions of the same book will sell for more then the American in the same grade. Other times not so much.... depends on a lot of factors.
  10. Now this is getting ugly, CGC could have handled this differently. Just paid him what he wanted when he showed up angry as hell at their booth and worked out with the customer later. With the Infinity war movie about to hit and the amount of peeps wanting his sig? Just doesn't make sense.... I think I have recognized an underlying resentment from creators for quite some time now, wether it is justified or not doesn't matter. This could snowball into changing the way fundamentally this is handled? Could a grading company pay a creator a small percentage for every book authenticated and then those costs extended to the customer? Who knows... but I smell change in the air.....
  11. Thanks man! It is quite cool to sit there and lay all of these editions out on the table. One of the neatest thought experiments I like to engage in is thinking about the journeys each one of these books took. Most of these books had to find there way here, forced by me as facilitator, to end up in one solitary place on the planet. Geek gravity I like to think of it as.... its one thing to see pictures of it. But I gotta tell ya whenever I pull out this small stack of 300's to show people you should see the way people react in person. One of the tougher ones to find is the Greek. A digest sized book that has a neat Greek title.... here is a closer look!
  12. Thanks!!!! Has taken a few years but well worth it....
  13. Yea, im crazy for it..... check out the Hungarian up close. I love the Superman title in there, comes with a backup Supes story! This copy is rough but I don't mind... cant be a grade chaser really in the foreign niche world.
  14. By the way guys... there is big news out of the Phillapines hunts....... Huge news. We have always suspected that a All Star Western 10 existed in a bookstore edition. No scan or anything close had quite been found with the exception of the Weird Western. Well I got my Weird Western finally! I was amazed at the condition too..... So of course I am stoked..... but even more important.... We had proof the Weird Western existed from a picture we found of a bound version..... but no one had ever found a All Star with Jonah. Well, now we know..... I helped broker the deal that landed this book with my buddy and these are most likely the first pics to hit the internet of the All Star 11!!!! So, this begs the question? DOes a 1st Jonah Hex exist? Me and the other foreign guys think it is mighty likely..... if so it would be the rarest ALl Star Western on the planet. Even scarier... we seem to be edging closer to the HOS92 being a possibility..... scary stuff indeed....
  15. Nah... though I do have the highest graded Italian in a 9.4! Ill send ya a PM to show ya! One of the complete foreign sets is slabbed though and most are signed by Todd. Pretty killer.....
  16. Well many in the hobby have different ideas about classification... but those in the know like to consider these issues editions more similar to the book hobby. The reprint classification doesn't do these books justice. To many different elements that make them very different from the originals including translation. This is a argument those in the foreign niche have been fighting for quite a while.....
  17. So it looks like the Dutch and Filipino could have been the closest having come out in 88. The Mexican came out in June 89 and the Spanish in Sept of 89. The Italian everybody loves came out a few years later in March of 92. And most of the Nordic countries a little after that.
  18. Yes I can find them... right off the top of my head I think the Mexican was probably the closest to the original date.... maybe that same year actually. Then a decent group got printed in the early 90's with the latest being 1997 I think? Id have to check.
  19. Its done! Spiderman 300 foreign set complete. Every non-American Spiderman 300 that was created on the planet now resides in my collection. At least known.... there is always a chance in this niche that a new book will pop up. But, this is it as far as known 300's. American, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Sweden, Poland, Greek, Dutch, Finnish, French, Danish, Filipino, Norwegian, and finally the Hungarian. This set is 1 of 3 known to to exist in a complete state as far as the foriegns go. Very happy to be done…..
  20. It is.... I dont know of anyone currently selling this book. I do know that another in this condition exists because a scan of one was on metarogs site a few years back. I can say with full confidence that this is the rarest of the XMen 101 foriegns. Ill keep an eye out for ya....
  21. Thanks man! I am pretty stoked..... I always love talking with James. I spent 40 minutes before the show even started talking industrial music history with him, updates on the new Crow movie, just chillin. So approachable and down to earth, easily one of my favorite artists to talk to.
  22. Hey guys, I thought you might appreciate this...... The saying in Greek is "Fear is for the enemy, fear and bullets....." Its a quote from the book and James was super cool in reproducing the phrase in Greek. One of a kind collectable I think. It is currently at Voldemort getting a yellow label. While speaking to James, he commented that Greece was one of the few places in Europe he hadn't been to. I have contacts there and specifically a guy that is involved with the one big show they do in Athens. Im currently trying to get him an invite to the show.... fingers crossed I will get James to Greece. That same Greek buddy of mine also got this.....
