  1. Couple I picked up in San Francisco. Nothin to spectacular but they fit in the collection nicely til I get better copies. And... sorry to see you go hawkman. Hopefully you decide to stick around here for awhile longer. There's great stuff here, despite some of the d-baggery that goes on around here.
  2. I love this cover. I have a pretty nice copy of this one.
  3. I'm not sure if this is off topic or the right place to post this but I'm looking for some info on this book. I found it today in an antique store in Santa Cruz. Here's the info on the book. "Bringing Up Father" by Geo McManus Seventh Series Cupples and Leon Company Publishers, New York The copyright info says "1923 by Int'l Feature Service, Inc. Great Britain Rights Reserved" Thanks for any info
  4. While some people have to keep their word to keep something like their job, there's other people who's morals are low and don't care at all about their word. Haven't posted a bats or tec on here in awhile. goin to San Fran tomorrow and hopefully I'll have some killer deals to post on here wwhen I get back.
  5. I already posted this comics general but I love it so much I'm just gonna post it everywhere.
  6. I thought so too. Looking forward to reading it to find out what's going on.
  7. Those Avengers are beautiful copies. My girlfriend bought this for me today. And I got these at a local antique shop. Money is super tight right now but there was no way I could pass these up for a dollar.
  8. The only L.B. Cole cover that I have. I'm hoping to change that this year. Its a beater but I still love it.
  9. Very nice. Can't get any better with a price like that either. Great pickup.
  10. AWESOOOOOME!!!!!! Great find buddy. If you ever get tired of looking at it you're more than welcome to send it my way.
  11. I'll trade you dads Wait, I'm sure we have more collectors who share this thought. We could have a bidding war to be "adopted". Amazing book by the way! Or a fight to the death?
  12. Very nice paintings. Portraits (faces in general) were always a pain for me so very nicely done.
  13. WOW, those phantom strangers are beautiful. Ive never even seen a pic of a full run together like that. Very nice.
  14. Those would be "Atom Age" right? Very cool books anyways. Im extremely jealous.
  15. Im currently reading two books. Drood by Dan Simmons and The Ten Cent Plague. (Picked this one up again after getting about 70 pgs. in and not reading it for a couple months. Its been really slow but has been picking up. Getting more interesting.) Yeah, all my customers love it. Heck, even the NY Times liked it and they never like King! Is 11/22/63 out already?
  16. All 3 of those are awesome. thanks for sharing.
  17. Non-keys are almost invariably much more difficult to find than the keys. +1 Agreed. Its the obscure "acid trip" covers that im always on the hunt for and can hardly ever find. Im always running into key issues that are beyond my price limit. I would take a VG/F #301 for $40 over a VG/F #225 for $400 anyday. Its the ones that i never see that get my inner nerd goin.
  18. Nice copy, ive had that one on my list for awhile now too.
  19. That was the issue that topped my Batman most wanted list until I scored a nice enough copy five or six years ago. Not only do I remember buying that at Ken's Variety on Wharncliffe Road as a kid, but the cover is just so wild! : It is an awesome cover, and a great story to go with it. , thats to bad. I know how hard the older ones are to find at LCS though, before they started getting these in, they were next to impossible to find.
  20. Hey, everyone. Christmas is around the corner and I am broke. Good news for you. Also I'm sick of spending all my money on nothing but comics, so I'm going tto be cutting my collection down to a few titles I really wanna collect. I'm hoping I'll be able to list quite a few books on here over the next week. Ages of these book will mostly be in the silver and bronze age with a handful of golden age. It pretty much breaks down to about 45% silver, 45% bronze and 10% golden age There will be books from all different publishers. ( D.C., Marvel, Dell, Gold Key, Carlton) with titles such as Avengers, X-men, daredevil, fantastic four, superman, superboy, Batman, detective and genres such as horror, western, sci fi, romance, and much much more. Prices for these books will hopefully be anywhere from 20%- 50% off guide. Grades of these books will be from NM/M+ all the way down PR- I'll be getting up early tomorrow morning to start taking pics of these books and grading and pricing them for you guys. Hopefully I'll have about the first 20-30 books being listed at noon (pacific time) tomorrow (12/04/11). Hope to see all you guys out here tomorrow afternoon. Lets actually get this ball rolling right now. I'm gonna post a few books as a preview for what's to come for you late nighters.
  21. A Joker i sketched out in about 10 min. Its from the Batman Masterpieces book. This is my attempt at biomech when i was working in a tattoo shop. This was for a project in my art class. We had to use watercolor. I drew it out first, inked it, made a photocopy of it and painted with watercolor on the copy. This is my latest work. When i bought this comic i knew immediately i wanted to draw it just because of the perspective. As you can see my lettering needs some practice. This is just a copy of it after i inked it and before i colored it. I gave the original to my girlfriend and im pretty sure she lost it.
