  1. Pricing can get even more challenging to calculate when you have even less data points or conversely anything that was even close sold 6 or 7 years ago? Also when you have the highest graded copy and everything else is at least one full grade away from your copy. Nice position to be in, but pricing can be a challenge unless you send it off to auction and take your chances and let the buying comic public decide.
  2. Yeah, when you have been looking for a book for a while, sometimes you need to jump on it when it comes available, particularly for many GA titles. SA and BA you can usually find another pretty quickly for similar pricing assuming it was not a crazy inexpensive deal being offered.
  3. This breaks my heart to see this happening. Stan Lee has contributed so much to the comic and entertainment industry over so many decades. He is being paraded around like a cash cow and is obviously not doing well, its not right. Not sure where the responsibility lies here, but this man is not being treated with the respect he deserves.
  4. One of my favorite films of all time, a Canadian production too
  5. Have fun with the thread Rick. I will be driving on the highway for a 5 hour road trip when your sale gets up and running. Hope I don’t miss any Planet Comics upgrade opportunities ? Warmest Regards, Jason
  6. Not that common to see a slabbed copy of this book that does not have a PQ that includes cream pages
  7. Thought you might enjoy this, pretty rare recording format for this album ?
  8. Curious to gather the groups thoughts on key issue price run ups and potential drops in regards to first character appearances. It seems if 1st appearance issues of villains are much more prone to heavy swings up and then down dependent upon movie release dates and market hype (with the exception of a few blue chip villians, ones like, Dr. Doom, Green Goblin, Lex Luthor, Major Batman Villians etc.). Issues with first appearances of non Villain characters seem to hold their value a bit better even if they are B level characters? I usually hold my books for a long time, so I don't get overly fussed over fluctuations in value too much but would like to hear the thoughts of other board members on this topic.
  9. Its feels like its been a while, maybe time to buy some PCH again
  10. It’s not the most exciting group shot, but this is the entire run of Planet Comics that has taken me a little over a decade to assemble ?. It’s feels pretty cool to have them all together. I will put together a separate thread at some point to share more details of the run and my process I undertook to complete this challenging task. Still a number of issues I would love to upgrade at some point, and some that I plan on having placed in new slabs, but overall I am very happy with the run I have put together ?
  11. Heritage Auctions has a few issues that they have sold in the past. If you look up the historical sales data for them you can see the sold prices. I believe they sell for about the same amount as the regular US run issues. They are not as common though by any means. I cant speak to the interior content. Warmest Regards, Jason
  12. Wow, what a thread! Phenomenal books ?
  13. As a Canadian collector I am always happy when the Canadian dollar is closer to par as my purchasing power increases for most of the books I am interested in. I have always tracked book value however in US dollars, as most of my purchasing is done through these forums, Ebay or the other big comic auction houses (all of which are in US dollars really). Lets face facts, collecting many of the high grade vintage books have become progressively expensive (sometimes exponentially) over the last 5-10 years, regardless of any currency exchange. If you want to collect cool funny books, you are going to have to pay, either with your hard earned $$ or your time, or both.
  14. It may not be as romantic a setting, but free breakfast would get my vote.
  15. 6 hours ago, Sqeggs said: Cole romance has gotten hot, although still not as hot as Mr. B. Lol, get a room you two
  16. The strangest threads get new life breathed in to them sometimes, although I find it usually involves insults or tittles
  17. Sure! I have assembled my Planets today but recently cleaned up and reorganized a lot of stuff, including my collection. My #35 and #28 are MIA, lol, they will show up, I just need to sort through a mountain of stuff
  18. Although I have a Universal copy of Planet #2, its low grade (2.5) with Brittle pages. #2 is one of my run that is definitely on my "want to upgrade" list. It will likely be financially painful when that finally happens I anticipate.
  19. Twisted Tales #9, Spade the Werewolf and Me is the story ?
  20. I have a full story of original art from one of the twisted tales issues, can recall off the top of my head. Not by a famous artist but I still love it ❤️
