  1. And I'll add my #14 to the thread, this one tied for highest graded with 1 other: (note: I haven't bothered to crack out this copy to get that ice cream coupon worth 10 cents)
  2. That is a NICE copy of #11. Yeah, I don't know what's up with that particular issue, but if you didn't include my collection in your statement above, then there are 3 HG collections that don't have this book. I guess I've just been waiting for a book like yours (nudge, nudge). It's too bad the Toths aren't mentioned as such on the slabs. Here is my #12, acquired in my summer of 2018 big purchase. It is tied for highest graded on the census with 1 other at 9.0.
  3. Yes, issue #10 (Danny is right - this one is indeed special). I remember when Roy (Vintage Comics)posted about a number of books that he had come across back in November 2018 - among them this particular book. I pm'd him at the time and tried to make a deal on it, but the sellers wanted to go to auction with the book to see if they could get a better return. It was an entire year before the book hit Heritage and in the end I paid slightly more than I had offered (due to HA's buyer premium) and the sellers would've net slightly less at their end as well. Not that I blame them - sometimes 2 bidders will really drive up the cost of a book - you just never know. That November 2019 auction had a lot of good B&B's - more than I could afford to go after, that much is sure. So with all that being said, here is the book - it is the highest graded copy of any book in the first 22 issues (it takes until B&B#23 for another graded copy to equal this book's 9.4 and until B&B#28-the holy grail of the run-for a book to grade higher at 9.6):
  4. On to issue #9. Won this book last Fall - another great Silent Knight cover. It is really quite a treat when a high grade copy of these early issues becomes available. In this case, there is only 1 graded higher by CGC (an 8.5):
  5. Ask and ye shall receive...my #8 - another Robin Hood cover - an upgrade I picked up last November. There isn't a finer copy graded by CGC on the census (although there are three others just below at a grade of 8.0)
  6. So, I don't have a #6, but I do have a #7. It was one of a bunch of early B&B's I purchased in one transaction - one of my most favorite transactions as these books in high grade just don't come along very often.
  7. Perhaps they gave it a little premium in value because it is scarcer than the already scarce issues around it? I don't have one yet, and I think opportunities have been pretty much non-existent.
  8. I never have that problem with Heritage. You can simply tell them to hold all books you win automatically until you authorize shipment. Then they ship all the books at once with one shipping cost. Since I live in Canada, this is extremely helpful. Now, I had to learn this the hard way, when they charged me $70 to ship a $100 book and I complained (since, I had also intended on winning another book in an auction closing within a couple of days. Just email them and request this option.
  9. Only 29 copies of this issue have ever been graded by the CGC. Mine is the single highest graded on the census. I have no doubt that there are better non-graded copies out there, but until one of those people decides to share a scan, here you go.
  10. While I don't have all the issues from 1-200, I have managed to accumulate quite a few thus far. Here are my copies for issues 1-3. I have to echo Silver's comment on #2 - it is very hard to find in high grade. Well, I suppose that pretty much goes for all the pre-Suicide Squad issues.
  11. Agreed - B&B 28 in particular is really affordable right now considering how key a book it is. If you can get it, I would say go for it. Marvels rule the collecting world, but this book will get its due again in the future.
  12. This price was so good last night, I was almost considering bidding on it myself (would love a copy of this book!)
  13. Considering the final 2 parts are after the New Year, I don't think I'll have the patience to not watch the first 3 like you will.
  14. I won this book yesterday (and it will be held at HA until some future point in time when I have purchased enough books to make the shipping palatable):
  15. Yes, those are beauties! I have all of these but the Ghosts one. Of course, I bought mine at the Drug Store back in the 70's, so they are VERY WELL read! For some reason, while my other comics were either thrown out or sold for pennies on the quarter back then, I've always managed to keep the Treasuries.
  16. Boy! Trying to complete this mini-run is an absolute exercise in patience! These books just do not fall out of the sky in 7.5 or above, do they? Or in the case of the #2...there are no 7.5's out there yet, but who is holding on to the 3 7.0's out there? I'm right here, ready to buy one of them , just let me know and let's make a deal!!! That being said, it feels like it's going to take ten more years to complete this run - you guys just don't want to give up your HG early B&B's do you? Don't you want someone to complete a HG run? Let's work together people! We can make it happen - sell me the issues I need! My newest acquisition in this mini-run:
  17. Well, those last two images seem to reinforce the worldwide popularity of Star Trek! Here's another from my collection:
