  1. I have to say I agree with you. Reserve auctions are really little different than the "Buy it Now" option on Ebay. Whomever put the book up was not going to lose money, so he/she was banking on either keeping the book or making a quick profit with the upcoming JL movie on the horizon. I think there is a lot of upside to this book - I'm not saying to pay $110K for the 9.0, but 5 years from now we are likely wishing we did.
  2. I knew my $50K bid wasn't going to hold up
  3. So, no profit, no loss. Interesting that the bidding didn't go beyond 80,500...was it because it was auctioned off through Pedigree? I would imagine the reserve was probably set somewhere around $110K?
  4. That is an amazing price - with so much time left, you would think it has a lot of room to move.
  5. Higher grade SC4's don't come along every day. I'm going to win this one!
  6. I will find that auction VERY interesting as far as the B&B28 goes. I noticed the sale on Greg's site a little while ago and was wondering if that price was an accurate representation of what it would go for in an auction. Does whomever sold it make a profit or take the loss?
  7. I would say they are both more than achievable, considering Japan is still to come from an international standpoint and domestically $400 is not even a question even more. Quite a feat considering the DC movies that preceded it.
  8. I finally saw the movie again this afternoon for this first time since the opening night. The theater was full - it was probably the smallest one in the multiplex (around 100 seats I would guess, but it was still full. I couldn't believe it. As for the movie itself, I actually appreciated it more on the second watching than the first. As for all the estimates as to where it ends up, I still maintain it will get just past $400 million -the numbers thrown out there approaching $410 million just seem a little optimistic. $401-$405 million seems to be the sweet spot.
  9. $450 million is out of the question - good holds or not. At best it will limp past $400 million. Not that I wouldn't want to see it do better...
  10. I compare them because they have been released within about a month of each other. If you want to compare it to the first Guardians, it has already grossed more than that film did in its entire run.
  11. With the last 5 days, it is now a horse-race between Guardians 2 and WW. After 33 days of release, Guardian had grossed $358,116,014, while WW is now at $354,602,300. WW has made up an amazing amount of ground considering Guardians had earned $43 million more after the first weekend. Who woulda thunk it? It seemed people were ready to hate WW before it even came out. Quite remarkable.
  12. I think that WW has a chance to surpass GOTG2 if it continues the strong holds it has been getting. Spider-Man will decide the race. I suspect it will be extremely close between WW and GOTG2 at the end of their runs.
  13. Great performance by Wonder Woman so far. In its 12th day of release it has caught and surpassed the Man of Steel's totals through 12 days: Wonder Woman: $221,460,034 (domestic 12 day tally) Man of Steel: $219,812,745 (domestic 12 day tally) So far WW is holding much better than any of the other 3 DCEU movies, having out-grossed all of them in each of the last 6 days.
  14. I don't normally collect Batman, but, I made an exception for this one:
  15. I won this book last night...just love this period in the Wonder Woman series:
  16. I had my eye on that Flash #128 9.0 in the just completed Comiclink auction, but that was a STRONG price on that book at $3,150. I wasn't even in the ballpark on this one.
  17. Here is my one silver age Green Lantern issue, it has a JLA appearance so...:
  18. I received this pretty comic via Fedex a couple days ago:
  19. I've got to go with Flash 123 as well. Iconic cover along with the introduction of the multiverse.
