  1. I wanted to show these high grade issues off. Came in a 90% complete run from 1-150. CGC seems to show minimal copies graded. Is that due to rarity, higher grades, low prices, collector preference, or all of the above?
  2. Here's issue 5, tough to book to find in grade or otherwise.
  3. Just bought this collection of a near complete run of House of Mystery's 1-150 Shown below is 1-80. Wasn't cheap but some of these are the nicest I've seen. I'll scan a few too.
  4. From the first 50 issues of Forbidden Worlds. I just sold most of.
  5. Need a complete coverless for NY Worlds Fair 1940 version.
  6. Just joined the club tonight. Guy calls me about a collection of 1960s comics all cartoon books and a Hulk 1. A couple calls later and I never heard from him for over a year. Then he calls me last week, tells me a hard luck story and wants to sell it and the rest. I'll believe it when I see it and either its total BS or the book is going to be a piece of work. All the books are in real nice shape VG/F to VF. This plus one other had light water damage - Grrrrr. I am always flabbergasted how many collections deals can take over a year to consummate. He did say that he sold all of the superhero books back in the 1980s with the exception of the Hulk which he wanted to keep. I paid a fair amount for it but the cartoon comics came with it so that made for a sweet deal. This is my first copy of this book too which is very cool. But for the stains this is a really nice copy. Great colors, spine, no chipping or tape, and white page quality. Well centered with no major distractions. Really pumped to get this.
  7. I already posted this as a copied pic from the seller. Here it is now safe in my collection. Bird in hand and all that. Interior shot too of Heckle and Jeckles 1st app. Tough book to find, man this made my day.
  8. I've always thought the Worlds Best 1 is an iconic book and a number one of a long running series. The think I like about NY Fair 1940 is it is the first cover with Superman and Batman on it as well as a much better cover than the 1939 version. So while they don't share a story internally until Superman 76, it's still significant in my book, and similarly iconic image as the WB 1. Still 1939 gives you get a 1st appearance of Sandman which is pretty sweet but the cover is. I always hated the reference to "blond haired Sueprman, like who gives a mess. All 3 of these tend to be heavily overpriced in Overstreet and often restored with color touch or something. And they are in plenty of supply though in reasonable demand if you can get the book VG or better unrestored. Part of the problem is they seem to be on every dealers wall, priced at guide or more, and never sold even after 10 years. Like Bill, I like the book and priced right it's a sweet book to own and even resell. Any book you overpay for or with undisclosed restoration is always going to leave a bad taste in your mouth. Bill got the book from me for a very good price with the c.t. disclosed so I imagine he's pretty happy. The book I showed off was where I got the cover for just under $200 off ebay and had to pay Metro for a front cover missing issue of $400 which I thought was too much but hey, a nice low grade married copy of this iconic book for $600 seems pretty decent. Everything has it's priced, just not priced correctly in Overstreet. Ed
  9. Oh yeah, I now have a Worlds Best 1 back cover available for sale, cheap. Ed
  10. Just married up this book. Loose and married cover but complete, no restoration, nice cover and nice interior. Now I need a complete interior to Worlds Fair 1940. Anyone? Ed
  11. I need a coverless for a Worlds Fair 1940 (yellow cover) Ed
  12. Just picked this beauty up. I buy about 1 comic a year for the personal collection of GA 1st appearances of cartoon/cartoony characters in VF or better. I have my eye on another book right now so things are moving pretty good. This one took a while to find even available, let alone affordable. 1st Heckle and Jeckle
  13. Add kevin109 to the list. Bought about $250 in Classics over a month ago and haven't heard from him since. A 3 post member who posts about once every 2 years. A coinee too...... bleeeeacch!
  14. Just some great books. Here's one more
  15. Got in a short box of 12 cent GI Combats. Here's one of the better ones.
  16. Nice books. So does it count if you have a double cover with the outer cover detached at the staples. It is clear that is it's a double based on wear. Curious anyone's thoughts. Not a killer book but a double cover none the less. Outer then Inner.
