Got a call today about some old comics.....within an hour picked up this little 40 book Fawcett lot....happy with the transaction! -
I used to love to go to this show when it was in Dayton and then Columbus OH but Pittsburgh is just too far for me to travel so unless it changes back to a former location unfortunately probably won't make it to this show again.

Don't think any big Vans have that feature.....otherwise I do recommend a Transit for hauling a big load of comics or whatever. Loads like this.....no problem! -

A Ford Transit Van will haul 100 long boxes.....and a smooth ride to boot! -

I should have made a poll....who wants to pay $20 to clean out someone's trash! (Truthfully though on another day if I hadn't already had a full van and it would have been earlier in the day I might have taken that $20 plunge....) However, in one of the flats I bought in the main auction ring had this little surprise....a Creation Con program from 1979....not valuable but what makes it cool to me is that this was the first Comic Con I ever went to. I actually still have my original booklet signed by the guest of honor Jim Shooter! My Dad took me to that convention....only one he ever went to....but it ment the world to me that he would drive a couple of hours to Chicago so that I could get my geek on when geek wasn't cool....he's been gone a long time now but I still Love you Pops! -

Wouldn't be the first or last time I made a bad call.....it is possible and even probable that there were a couple hidden gems in that steaming pile.....however my time is worth way more to me than to haul someone else's garbage way. I was more than happy to pass up that room and the 4 other rooms they sold for nothing....good luck to the couple people that bought them. Hope they find some good stuff to make it worth their time! -

This room cost $20 at an auction today.....I was tempted just for the tubs alone....but in the end I passed as it would have taken me hours to go through the stuff and I didn't want to be in that house that long! -

Ever had a comic creator purchase his/her book from you?
Bearcatcoach replied to Aweandlorder's topic in Comics General
Many years ago at the Motor City Con Jim Shooter bought the big Marvel Try Out Book from us.....his stories about how people used it to get jobs at Marvel were classic.... Rob Liefeld bought a book off our back board last year's WW Chicago.... The guy who plays Constantine on TV (Matt Ryan) bought a Hellblazer comic from us at WW Columbus last year and at the same show John Barrowman from Torchwood & Arrow bought a small stack of books from us. Sold stuff to many other professionals through the years like Steranko, Waid and so on..... -

It was an estate auction so I had to bid against a couple guys to get them. There were other comics but mostly trash....I got the ones I wanted! Averaged around $100 each so while not a steal it was a decent enough price.... -

I waited till I got back to my booth for the gloating to occur....everyone there was like "whatever" so it was anti-climatic for me....lol Of course I am sure that years ago I probably had them in my $1 boxes so what goes around comes around.....
