  1. I think all confirmation/denial is at the studio's behest. The studio might be speaking to more than one actor in consideration for the role and the actors are asked/told to keep it quiet but for some reason "insiders" keep coming up with Momoa and in response he's sort of just going with what he hears from his representatives about the casting. At one point in time it may have been close to an agreement and another not so much. Personally, I really hope these rumors end up being true because this role definitely needs someone with presence.
  2. Blue Beetle? That isn't very exciting... Why not Nightwing??
  3. Khal Drogo as Aquaman? SOLD. Momoa is definitely going to bring an energy and an intimidation factor to the screen as Aquaman. This is exactly what the character needs in order to be memorable and to erase all the stereotypes about the character in the general audiences mind.
  4. Im catching up after a few days and I'm a bit confused. The article says the release date for BvS: DOJ is scheduled for May 2016 release with Shazam set for a July 2016 release, is that correct? Isn't that cutting it a a little too close to one another? Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of not having to wait a whole year for a DC installment but I figured it would be better to space them out more. But if DOJ is rescheduled to 2017 (bummer) I wouldn't mind Shazam filing in but boy is that movie going to be difficult to pull-off. Also, this Flash/Green Lantern movie is personally my favorite one of the bunch because I absolutely love those Silver Age funny books. I can't wait to see the castings for those two roles, that's assuming Grant Gustin isn't their decision for the cinematic version.
  5. I just finished reading the second issue and it was just as good as the first. It's definitely a a new favorite.
  6. +1, I hope he contributes to the variant covers as often as possible.
  7. I don't know how I feel about the art on this one. I enjoy the writing for AWA but its the art that really does it for me. I'm intrigued by the Sabrina storyline but I don't know if it'll become a regular for me given that Francavilla wont be involved with it. We shall see, can't judge a book by its cover.
  8. Marvel and Johnny Depp rumors about Doctor Strange have been ongoing for a while, I think that would be a great casting.
  9. This definitely sounds like something Sony would think is a brilliant idea. . Here's to hoping that working with Joss Whedon all these years has rubbed off on Drew Goddard and he can put something decent together . I love the idea of seeing The Sinster Six together on the big screen but after watching ASM2 I've lost all confidence in Sony.
  10. I'm just thankful for this film and CA: The Winter Soldier for showing everyone that you can still produce a quality comic book film that appeals to everyone and that movie can be both financially and critically successful. *cough*take notes Sony*cough*
  11. This. I knew it was bad but I didn't know it was this bad... That is huge. Merchandising revenue is incredibly vital, just ask George Lucas.
  12. Is this the same guy from Winter Soldier? So he'd portray two different villains in two different movies? I don't know, I'm skeptical of anyone trying to portray the Joker after Ledger but this guy definitely doesn't seem like the actor to tackle the role.
  13. , I wasn't aware a thread for this was already up and running.
  14. Think about that statement... Four days ago, if someone would have told me I would walk out of that movie loving me some Quicksilver, I would have smacked them silly.... As I keep thinking about this movie, I am actually liking it more and more. I gotta go see it again. No choice. +1 I was first in line at the bar serving haterade. I was wrong and could not be happier about it. He really stole the show. That's the kind of stuff that catches a kid's imagination. to the actor and the writers. You guys aren't alone in this. My sister couldn't care less about the X-men but she loves American Horror Story and therefore loves the actor who portrayed Quicksilver. That's the only reason she wanted to watch this movie and when she told me she was excited to see it because of him I said she was crazy and started going on about his costume and all this other stuff. In the end, after watching the film, his brief part in the film was worth the price of admission alone. , just goes to show you that you shouldn't rush to make judgements about something you haven't yet seen.
  15. Jackman is very briefly nude. I can't think of much else.
  16. There are definitely scenes in the XO: Wolverine movie I enjoy watching. And although different than your comic-based Sabretooth, I think Liev Schreiber really captured the ferocity and deviousness of the character. When I ran into Schreiber at the airport the previous year, I so wanted to ask him about his performance. But I wasn't sure if he saw it as a high point in his career, or a failure because of the performance of the film. So I left it alone. But I probably should have asked, as I am sure he felt good about his part in the film. It's the mess that the -script became that really took that movie down a horrible path. Liev Schreiber was definitely one of the few highlights of the film. He was far superior than the seldom speaking-often growling version of Sabertooth ( ) from X1.
  17. I have yet to hear back from Sony about my refund for ASM2 so those numbers may yet again change, .
  18. Since I stop reading your post at you didnt like First class and you are the first person to say you disliked DOFP over the many that have liked the movie I would say you are def in the smallest minority possible. Most were split on ASM2 but DOFP seems to be well liked (even loved) across the board. I felt ASM2 was pretty bad as well but I thought DOFP was amazing. I think this may be another case of trailer/footage overload where you may have seen most of the film before walking into the theater and that took away from the experience while at the same time raising your expectation levels to unrealistic heights. There was another boardie a few pages back who expressed the same sentiment. This is why I go in blind to films which I know without a doubt I'll end up watching and its really heightened my experience. Do you perhaps think this had anything to do with you not liking the film?
  19. I think there was a thread dedicated to just spoilers or for the people who had already seen it to have discussions about the film but I couldn't find it.
  20. It is, everyone should see it as soon as possible. I just got home from watching it and I thought it was terrific, it's definitely top 5 of all time territory. Some notes:
  21. Nothing. I read more unless there's a sport I care about on, or the very rare occassion where a good movie is playing. catch up on your cable shows, you can't possibly have watched all of them - Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Silicon Valley, Americans, Archer, Justified If you've got a ton of time and HBO Go you should go back and watch the Wire or Sopranos, pretty much the best TV EVER (aside from maybe GOT and Prison Break Season 1) Or go back in time and watch some nerdy older stuff u missed out on like Fringe, Firefly, Jericho? I've personally seen all of that except The Americans which I haven't gotten around to watching. It takes place during the Cold War era, if I'm not mistaken, and that just doesn't sound interesting. I'm taking time out right now to watch Seinfeld for the first time. P.S. Silicon Valley is probably the funniest show on TV right now. It really should have its own thread to bring awareness to the show.
