  1. I doubt the validity of this. Sony has already announced several upcoming films. ASM 3 is already being written with Marc Webb and Andrew Garfield contracted to return.
  2. Good to know, thanks for doing the digging! This Afterlife With Archie title is going to be troublesome because the more I see of the Archives universe, the more I like,
  3. An excellent article from USA Today with both writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and artist Francesco Francavilla discussing Afterlife With Archie and the upcoming Sabrina spin-off series coming in October. I was surprised to see Sabrina in the pages of Afterlife because I only knew of her because of the TV show "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" that use to come on when I was a kid. Has she been present before in the Archie universe?
  4. , you aren't alone in this. I was excited to pick this up and see if he had gotten back in to form but with this it only seems to have gotten worse. Sadly, I think his best work is behind him.
  5. (thumbs u good to know and you're absolutely right about Francavilla's art, it's something else entirely. I've never hunted down an artist before at a CC but the next CC this guy is at I will be waiting in line for a signature.
  6. correct. given the $425MM+ production and marketing costs, will not break even on BO receipts even if it does $550MM Int'l. Where is that $425 MM production and marketing cost coming from? UPDATED BOX OFFICE: ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2′ Casts $92M Web; ‘The Other Woman’ Holding Strong; ‘Rio2′ Passes $100M The production budget is said to be around $255M, with about $185M-$190M spent on marketing. That means all in it needs to make well over $752.2M worldwide (which is what the first installment grossed). About 65% of that came internationally. Does that mean in addition to the $255 MM + $185-190 MM? yes OMG! Financially, this may be Sony's lesson learned for not focusing more on a stronger story. ASM 2 topped by Neighbors at the box office this weekend, link. When it comes to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 it has crossed $400 million internationally, but domestically it fell 59% to $37 million this weekend. Not exactly the best news for Sony, Captain America: The Winter Soldier fell 56.6% in its second weekend, though it also opened a little higher than Spider-Man 2. No matter what, this film is still going to be successful, but Sony is going to have to take a long hard look at what they are doing with this franchise if they want to beef up momentum for their expanded, Spider-Man universe.
  7. I'm reading this for the first time and just finished #10 (NOOOOOOO!!!!!). This is an amazing series. It was recommended to me in another thread and I didn't even realize BKV was writing this until the second issue . I only recently read Y: The Last Man so it's good to be along for the ride on this one. Hopefully, it'll be a lengthy journey.
  8. Facebook says it will be out on the 15th of this month. How many issues are they planning on having for this series? Anyone have any ideas?

Who cares if this movie makes it's money back? It's a licensed property that will make a billion dollars in merchandising until the next one. Think t-shirts, Halloween costumes (multiple villian choices), video games, dvd/blu ray sales, back to school stuff (binders, portofolios, pens, etc), soundtracks, cable rights sale (which could be upwards $120 million), birthday party favors, it's a really endless amount of Amazing Spidey 2 junk we will see in the next two-three years. The problem for Sony is that they gave the merchandising rights back to Disney/Marvel, so Sony has to make all of their money on the movie itself. Disney makes all profit from the merchandising. WOW....I did not know that. That's huge...
  10. There is plenty of positivity around comic book adaptions on the board. Everyday a thread pops up following a newly announced television series or major motion picture. People post about everything from casting rumors to the most insignificant things because we're all excited and drooling with anticipation to see the next comic book adaption. There's some negativity in this thread because a few people (including myself) just weren't a fan of this particular film.
  11. Check this out Thanos Final Threat : Reprints Avengers Annual 7 and Marvel Two In One Annual 2 - Awesome Thanos lore story. Great, much appreciated!
  12. Is there anything else worth reading with Thanos other than the Infinity Gauntlet saga? I came across something called "Thanos Rising", any good?
  13. scheduled to run for a couple of years five or so at this point. Great to see new readers. (thumbs u That's what I wanted to hear. I've caught up with all the issues and it only got better and better. Now to play the waiting game like everyone else...
  14. I just started reading this myself. It's a great series. I've only read a couple of the first few issues but it feels like a cross between Trigun, Kill Bill and Darksiders. I hope they keep it going for a while.
  15. I'm not familiar with the material but any comic book property being adapted to television or film is exciting news but Syfy's involvement has me a bit skeptical.
  16. This is exactly what I had in mind, thanks!! P.S. The art in Afterlife With Archie is just amazing BTW.
  17. I would definitely love to do that except I'm traveling through SE Asia right now and that isn't an option. I only have access to digital comics at the moment and it would be a bit more pricey. That's why I would much prefer reading popular story arcs or preferred issues but given your suggestion I may just have to wait until I get back home. Thanks anyway (thumbs u
  18. This is a really good series. Any other Archie recommendations? The original series is at its 900th issue or something, right? I wouldn't even know where to pick up from. Any suggestions?
  19. I've read a little bit of Archie but not a lot. I found the story to still be pretty great with my limited knowledge. I'd say all you need is a quick read on wikipedia to understand the main characters and their relationships with each other. I think the comic would have more of an emotional impact on someone who's been reading the character for years but it's still a great story on it's own. Good enough for me, thanks (thumbs u
  20. I've never read an issue of Archie. Should I read something before picking this up?
  21. This would look pretty damn good IMHO: Gal Godot in Classic Wonder Woman Costume
  22. That has been the structure of the show for the majority of the season. 38 minutes of someone crying or some other nonsense that usually amounts to nothing and then Slade being brought in for the last 4 minutes to salvage the episode by being a complete badass. I'm very frustrated with this season. Season one of this show was absolutely amazing but this season has been a let down. The Suicide Squad episode probably being the only exception.
