  1. I would be very curious what explains away lying to someone repeatedly. Can't think of any myself. He assures me it is all true. I told him that putting a check in a box without telling someone is a block-headed move, but that even I make block-headed mistakes. But saying you're going to do something and not, repeatedly is where I draw the line. We'll see what happens Monday. PM sent because I'm curious who this guy is and he's someone to avoid completely. Sure, mistakes happen. But the guy could have fixed the "mistake" in minutes with PayPal. Of course, the guy's behavior makes me think it wasn't a mistake but just pure sleazebaggery.
  2. Sergio is a buyer with superhuman grace. Or perhaps it's a mutant ability, I'm not really sure. Either way, he's great.
  3. Dylan just bought a big stack of books from me and it was a perfect transaction. Quick payment, fast, friendly communication, all good stuff here. Thanks, Dylan!
  4. Andrew is a first class buyer. Quick payment, great communication, solid all around. Thanks, Andrew!
  5. Just finished a nice, easy sale to Rob. Quick payment, great communication, you can't ask for a better buyer. Thanks, Rob!

Just finished up a sale of 26 slabs to Scott and you couldn't ask for a better buyer. Great communication, quick payment, great experience all around. Thanks, Scott!
  7. Just finished a respectable-sized sale to Nik and it was nice and easy from start to finish. Fast, friendly communication, quick payment, nothing but good vibes. Thanks, Nik!
  8. Just finished a nice, easy sale to Ali (Marvel Feature #1) and you couldn't ask for a better buyer. Quick payment, great communication, and excellent taste in books! Thanks, Ali!
  9. Just finished another nice, easy sale to Paul. It's Déjà vu!
  10. Just completed another nice, easy transaction with Paul. Thanks again!
  11. And I took a shot on an eBay lot of some Millie the Models. The 194 has some issues of the back cover, unfortunately.
  12. Thanks to joeypost, I finally have a decent reason to bump this thread:
  13. Paul recently bought a 3 slabs from me and it was a flawless transaction. He may be new around here, but he buys like an old pro. Thanks, Paul!
  14. - it is almost as if you didn't read the thread at all! Not saying I agree or disagree with you, but I think a few people will disagree for sure... 3...2...1...pounce! Oh I read the whole thread alright and it has been very interesting , we can only give speculative guesses, and I know my post was slightly off topic but its still about the AF15 population. I don't think your post was off topic at all. And it's cool to hear the perspective of somebody knowledgeable about another hobby with grading services.
  15. If I were placing a bet and we could somehow ask Uatu the Watcher to verify the numbers, I'd be more comfortable with your guesstimates than mine.
  16. It's fun to see this poll and hear all the various opinions. I'd be curious to see guesstimates of how many raw high grade copies are still out there in the wild. And just for the sake of this discussion, let's say high grade is 8.0 or better, unrestored. I couldn't begin guess the total existing copies of AF #15 in any grade. But if it's narrowed down to unrestored high grade copies, I feel like my guess might be a bit more educated. As a frame of reference for those that might want to opine, looking at the CGC Census, I see that there are currently 40 Blue label copies graded 8.0 or higher. Ghost Town - How many additional raw copies do you think that there are out there that would grade out at a Blue label 8.0 or higher - or are you waiting until others have opined to share your thoughts? My guess would be fewer than 150 unrestored copies still out there in 8.0 or better. And if the minimum grade jumps to 9.0, I'd say less than 50 and think I'm probably being generous.

  18. Just received a sweet slab from Mike. It was well packed and shipped quickly. That's two big thumbs up from me.
  19. Looks like you had a very successful show, David. That's a lot of killer books. I've always been a big fan of the Captain Marvel #53 cover. I think it's one of Kane's better later day efforts.
  20. Don't have it. MOTP#20 is one tough book. Only seven copies have cracked the 9.0 level. I would like to own a high-grade copy someday, like the Rosa (9.6) that's been on eBay for months. But that seller's price point is way too rich for me. So for the time being, I acquired and settled on the next best thing. Crikey! Gadzooks! Holy mackerel!
  21. Yes, but I only go up to certain numbers. Like ASM #700, Avengers #402, and X-Men #544. Then I ran out of shelf space.
