  1. American... I put a WTB ad up... but I have been mostly having luck at the auction houses.
  2. In all sincerity to those that celebrate, 新年快乐 Xīnnián kuàilè And may all of the envelopes you opened today be red and in denominations of 8's.
  3. 記住,孩子們,德國人據說是無法進入的。但是那裡還有許多其他語言。
  4. Jeg vil købe en kopi af Journey Into Mystery 103. Kan nogen hjælpe mig?
  5. I readily admit that I may be wrong, but as of now, I have my doubts. I hope I am wrong, as you seem like a decent fellow. However, I have my doubts.
  6. I was sincerely hoping to see a Jeff Kuhlman - Bethel v Frasier type speech here to induct Cal into the CGC Boards HOF. This was disappointing. Can I nominate Ian Levine for starting what is now one of the most epic threads and often referred to threads in board history, "The Wheels are in Motion" ?
  7. Somehow, there is a part of me that believes you already know the answer to this question.
  8. I just should buy the Bandit Rookie Card from the Smokey and the Bandit card set.
  9. I checked that out this morning and just shook my head. Apparently Boba Fett has a "Rookie Card". I have news for the geeks. Derek Jeter has a rookie card. Tom Brady has a rookie card. Boba Fett and Deadpool have a "Rookie Card"
  10. They don't have the personnel that have the appropriate training. We already know that CGC has specific graders on specific eras of books. I remember reading that once around these parts that there were graders that were some that were more familiar or specialized in golden age and others in copper or moderns. Think about it... rush something out or get the proper training, because if you think that people screw around with comics wait until you see what funny business goes on with cards. For example, Topps was using a different cutting mechanism than Upper Deck so the slices into the cardboard leave a distinctive mark on a Topps card that can be seen with a loupe that cannot be seen with Upper Deck. You have to know what to look for. Regardless, while this is a cool adventure that CGC is taking and one that is long overdue and one that can also create serious competition, the pinnacle of card grading (to me) is still PSA. So, if CGC wants to become a viable competitor to PSA they have to do it the right way and really learn the process and what they are looking for. Because if there are any serious missteps, the card collecting community will look at CGC as the PGX of card grading.
  11. Bought a book and it arrived yesterday. I sent it out yesterday to Sarasota for a signature and a remarque. Now here is the thing...CGC is closed on 2/15. I called so they said that the deadline should be extended to 2/16. Only thing now is that my parcel has a slight delay and is pushed to reaching Florida by 9PM on 2/16. Let's see what happens. EDIT: When I was buying the postage online yesterday, both priority and express mail were giving me the same arrival date. so... I went with regular priority. Didn't see the need to spend an additonal $35 to express mail it, only for it to arrive at the same time that the $12 package would get there... We... shall... see...
  12. What's laughable is how people clamor on about how they have rights and then act surprised when their boss fires them.
  13. Yup. But it was across all levels and to all people. I have had some interesting bosses over the years across various jobs. Some were interesting characters and some were horrible people. Interesting characters I can talk about when the last of the interesting characters are dead. (I was a teenager and we were well taken care of with meals ) Horrible bosses was a guy that did lines of coke off his desk, hired his dealer as an assistant and was eventually DEMOTED for covering up a weapons charge and sexual assault.
  14. And yet, here we are again. BTW... after you made certain claims in a locked thread, two people reached out to point out a couple of comments over the past year where you like to reference me. I did not know or pay attention because I had you on ignore. So... since it does not seem to ever work, this ignore button. I will take you off ignore. However, I still consider you a troll. You are what you are in your flawed manner of thinking and attitude. I look forward to the continued exchanges when they present themselves and even if it is of interest. I am sure you will report it... and I am sure I will get a point... but... hey... I know you saw it then and know what the deal is.
  15. Then I will pay more attention then to MCS auctions moving forward. I would still like to see if such a poll could be made in ranking the auction houses awarding points levels for top picks. Who is your go to auction house for comic listings in your order of preference? 1st pick gets 4pts, 2nd gets 3pts and so on... Who is your go to auction house for actual auctions in your order of preference? (blah blah) I am playing with it but don't see the ability to do that on a google form...
  16. I remembered that you had 'liked' my response from a similar situation. I stand by this one...
  17. But does it have the exposure at auction that the others do? And that is a real question. We should rate the major houses by auctions and listings. MCS has an incredible depth of back issues of all ages but I rate that higher than I do the level of things they carry at auction. This leads me to kind of forget not so much disregard them. Comiclink auctions are a must see event for me each month. To be fair though, I do not search through their 'exchange' as frequently. I used to view ComicConnect as a must go every month but in the last year, what they bring to the monthly auction block is sort of pale in comparison to what they used to do. However, their Metropolis listings are top of the line as is their exchange. Heritage seems to have faded a bit at their "big event' auctions when it comes to comic books in terms of depth but the reality seems to be that they seem slightly diluted due to expansion with Sunday auctions going to two days, an increase in art offerings and the introduction of graded video games. I usually do not check their 'exchange' anymore. (Make an offer to the buyer) It would be an interesting poll to see... You figure you would include Heritage, MCS, Comiclink, ComicConnect in such a poll... Pedigree maybe? Are there any other auction house / exchanges?
  18. That was the point. She posted what she did and was probably told to watch herself like Gina Carano was. She realized that Disney money is a good money in her wallet. Carano decided, like some others, and so laughably, that she has 'her rights'. When I was in college, when I worked for Disney at a retail level dealing with collectables, animation and higher end items, we were specifically told, that if we had any type of behavior that was contrary to the Disney image, that we would be let go. You had to have your hair a certain way and so on. If you had visible tattoos, you were non-hirable as that was not due to birth but your choice. If women had multiple piercings they were allowed only a set of studs or small hoops. If you made comments on TV that were racist, discriminatory or leading to general harm and it was revealed that you worked at Disney, you were let go.
