  1. I keep telling y'all Filoni "gets it" Although I cannot decide if Jon Favreau is looking at Filoni in awe or in the sense of, "What is this guy smoking?"
  2. Bite thy tongue! I wanna see Old Man Rex
  3. How about, “Not yet.” they will be grading cards but as of now it looks like gaming cards only. It is likely that those machines will eventually be used to encapsulate sports cards.
  4. Doesn’t matter what the seller “wants”. It is against PayPal’s terms of service: to ask a buyer to cover PayPal fees Offer a discount to use another method other than PayPal if offering PayPal as a method of payment to allow friends and family transfers of funds to cover goods and service. The seller covers the PayPal transaction fee. It’s the cost of doing business.
  5. Yes, if the book or video is actually out of print. For LEGO, and certain other things the term ‘retired’ is frequently used.
  6. @Bosco685 Fine... I edited the idea in. And Grande is pretty frickin talented... not a show I would go to but she can hold her own singing... as seen on SNL and when she has been on Late Night shows imitating other singers.
  7. Narrowing your collecting down to 16 things? You are a better man than I am and this is coming from someone who has a smaller collection than what I believe to be average around here.
  8. @PeteFromPetesBasement has some good stories to tell if he would pay attention to the boards more often. I will text him to draw him from hiding.
  9. My mother was angry with me once so she tore up GI Joe 45 and Amazing Spider-man 311. I must have been around 13 at the time. She kind of felt bad so she said she would take me to the comic shop and replace them. Once she saw how much McFarlane Spider-mans were going for in the middle of the McFarlane hype she never tore a comicbook up again. Aside from that though, my mom took an interest in it and watched me talk to dealers and pick up Spider-man books. She would take me to the Rockville Centre Holiday Inn that would host comic book shows from time to time. I remember always asking for the classified section of the newspaper as these shows were always advertised there in Newsday. She was always a good sport about schlepping me here and there to pick up a book. Before she tore up the GI Joe and the ASM books she had even helped me buy my first copy of Daredevil 1 with the understanding that I would pay it off when I was around 10-11. I still have 'toasty' as my backup copy of the book.
  10. I want to just say that the buyer who wrote me saying that he was "PayPal ready" at $280 just asked that if he accepts my counter at $300, would I be willing to wait until Thursday for payment? Just because I want to see his response I wrote, "Sure, but what happened to being PayPal ready?" Edit: I have yet to hear a reply.
  11. I saw that James Gunn did it... but not quite in this way... Is it an intellectual property theft? I believe it to be a gray area since we are not profiting off of this in any way and it is a closed group of 'friends' So while I was scrolling through Netflix after perusing the boards here, I came across the Nic Cage, "Ghostrider" film. I thought to myself, "Self, how amazing would it be to livestream this and have a watch party and make fun critique it like MST:3000 or something with a few of these board members. So... I tested it out. I used two google addresses where I streamed the movie by sharing my netflix screen whole in google meet and went to another room and logged in with another gmail address with my phone. It works. So... good idea... bad idea... how much trouble could come out of this?
  12. So yesterday, I received an offer for something where the potential buyer made an offer at 70% of the ask with the phrase, "I am PayPal ready." I countered but could not help but point out that it was 2020. EVERYONE buying and selling online better be PayPal ready. So then it got me thinking. When was the last time you were told upon selling something, "I can mail a check out tomorrow?" or anything else?
  13. This is kind of a mistake... I am disappointed if this is true. Temuera Morrison should be cast as only one person in Season 2 of ‘The Mandalorian’ and that is as Captain / Commander Rex. Actor Bodie Taylor played some of the Clones at the genetic age of their 20’s and Temuera Morrison played the clones at around the age of 35–40. Let’s go over the Star Wars fact according to the Star Wars database and the wookieepedia. ‘The Mandalorian’ takes place nine years after the Battle of Yavin Boba Fett was an unaltered clone of Jango created around 32 years before the Battle of Yavin so his age would be around 41 years old by the time of the Mandalorian. Captain Rex, like other clones, aged at an accelerated rate so they would be older than 41. Temuera Morrison will 60 by the end of 2020. Bodie Taylor will be 44 by the end of 2020. So… by sheer appearances alone, Temuera Morrison should be now playing an older Captain Rex, especially since ‘The Mandalorian’ is bringing in the character of Ahsoka Tano and we can pick up some of the storyline from Rebels. Bodie Taylor is about the age that Boba Fett should be at this point in the Star Wars timeline.
  14. Hey, sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie, but I'd never know 'cause I wouldn't eat the filthy monster trucker. (I've been itching to use that line for awhile now... so... thank you.)
  15. Too many instances of international buyers gaming the system. GSP offers an extra layer of protection, yes, at the buyer's expense where eBay seems to be more proactive in fighting for the seller since eBay's money is on the line. Reduces my overall costs since I am only paying a percentage on shipping fees from NY to Kentucky instead of paying the percentage on the overall cost of priority international. 1 - Especially with the current state of international mail, I had two international buyer's state that there were problems last month. One buyer from Beijing, China said that they did not receive the item. Tracking showed that it never left Chicago for some reason after GSP shipped it from Kentucky to Chicago. Turns out that China denied receipt of the item. (According to eBay) GSP dealt with it as it was in their hands last. I kept the payment with no penalty. Buyer supposedly made whole as well. 2 - Canadian buyer had their item held up in customs. He grew impatient and filed a claim. I get why. So I did not discuss this in the eBay my eBay thread. eBay denied the claim or did whatever they did. All I know is, I was made whole and the buyer eventually received the books and left me positive feedback. In the old days with situation two, eBay immediately would immediately grant a refund. Do buyers here complain about it? I am sure some do. Some understand though that if they want that item and it is one of a kind then that's the cost of getting it. If they can get it through some other means then so be it. If they want to get that item and no one else has it except for me, then they pay the fees associated with GSP or they don't get it. It is up to them to make that decision because the item will eventually sell to someone regardless. Some believe that it is worth it. Some do not. That's for them to decide though.
  16. There still seems to be some confusion about whether or not managed payments will be in support of the global shipping program. On one part of their site it said, “no” but now some are saying it is. I offered something up here and on Facebook for $90 with no takers. I’m taking my afternoon walk right now to the post office after it sold for $120 and it happens to be using the GSP. I’m liking that program. if it is true though that gsp will not be supported then I am ending international sales again.
  17. Boooooo All Lego projects and hovercraft put on hold for two reasons. 1 - A friend sent me a picture of a guy who did the hovercraft justice and put everyone else's online to shame. Everyone else was using the standard lego hovercraft hull. This guy went all beast mode and built his own using a lot of SNOT (Studs not on top) techniques. I will link you to his flicker folder here. You have to see what he does. 2 - FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY - I was notified by the bath remodel company I contracted to redo my bathroom. They said my village hall finally responded. I was JUST about to have the paperwork completed by village hall when everything shut down. This means that a building inspector will be coming to my house and will need access to the basement for the water lines. So what does that mean? Well... most everything has to be concealed or tucked away since officially in my town a basement is for storage unless you have a direct egress from the main area. Guest bed alcove had to be overturned and I keep my shipping boxes that I use down there also. I would much rather finally get my bathroom done. I've been waiting now over a year to get this together due to false starts, a contractor that disappeared, and multiple quotes.
  18. I am holding out for as long as possible.
  19. Sometimes in grading the "+" does not mean mint plus but it might mean that the card technically qualifies for a 8.5 but is exceptional for the great. It might be like those old CVA that Comiclink tried selling everyone on that assessed whether or not a book was more visually pleasing than another for the assigned technical grade from CGC. I have seen it done with toy grading. https://cgagrading.com/toygrader/ Scroll down if anyone wishes to verify.
  20. I cannot emphasize this enough when it comes to MP transformers... Do your research. https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/new-to-the-mp-line-some-questions-if-these-issues-are-normal.1165791/ https://tfsource.com/blog/2018/01/19/sunstreaker2/ I like the Sunstreaker mold to be honest... I have not bought a new MP in awhile and he tempted me. However, I hope they fixed the mold as a few were reporting cracks and breaks in the windshield and backpack rotation. What's interesting is that sometimes, some of the knock off companies fixed some of the mold issues when they stole the design. I find that pretty fricken amusing. Just watch a ton of reviews on each one before you buy. YouTube is actually pretty good with that.
  21. I really don't get the whole graded video game thing...
  22. Yup - you said it best here. I trust CGC as a comic grader compared to everyone else in the market. I also trust that by extension they will offer the same professionalism toward grading cards. I do not imply or mean any sarcasm with that statement. However, the market was decided long ago by PSA. How many comic collectors and coin collectors also deal with cards? Because in order to attract business and make it worthwhile and profitable for the materials, housing, additional insurance, machinery and graders, you need to attract more than a small niche market of those who are already CGC customers and also have cards they want graded. I don't see that happening. Besides, PSA is the established leader in the industry. Beckett is also trusted but PSA is seen as the leader here. So many others have tried to pry away business and only a few have been successful.
  23. Yes, the World between Worlds and the explanations as to how it all works was just stunning to behold. I could rave about it but there are so many things that I would spoil by bringing them up. When I watched Rebels in its entirety it seemed like Filoni was told by the execs to do something kid friendly in the Star Wars universe and he happily obliged until the executives stopped paying attention and then made Rebels a flash forward of Clone Wars to tie up all of his loose ends... by the time Disney realized what he had done it was too late and he had everyone behind him. I really want to see what happened to the character that went missing and the two that went looking after the last episode. I would love a season 5 and after the Clone Wars revival I am holding onto hope.
  24. Stick with it by watching Rebels. The first season is so-so... by the final episode of season one they offer a glimpse as to what it will be. Season two is an improvement and Season 3 and Season 4 did it better than Clone Wars in my opinion. If you liked the last Ahsoka story arc then you will love Rebels Season 4. You just have to get to know the characters first. In a way, some of the things that Rian Johnson and JJ are criticized for in regards to how they used force powers get their roots in Clone Wars and Rebels which as we know was heralded by Filoni. Filoni should be in charge of the whole shabang if you ask me.
