  1. Deal with an auction house as an independent third party between buyer and seller. They are interested in the commission on the book. Once they receive the item and verify it then you are pretty much good to go.
  2. There was this one time about ten or so years ago that Peter Parker made a deal with Mephisto to wipe away his marriage and half of his life as well as his unknown/yet-to-be-born/unborn child* to save his 154 year old Aunt. That was a little too unrealistic for me. *Whatever happened to MJ's baby btw that Osborn had taken from the hospital in the 616 universe? Oh so they killed the baby. https://www.cbr.com/abandoned-love-whatever-happened-to-peter-and-mary-janes-baby/ So wait, even more bizarre is that Marvel had no problem KILLING the baby, but "it's magic" to get rid of the Spider-marriage was preferable to having Peter and MJ divorce... Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah dead baby is always better than a divorce... Sigh... "Marvel"
  3. I am brutally honest with things like this. PayPal and eBay BOTH want verified addresses. So what is the solution? It's not your problem. So here are your options: You can ship to the address indicated in the purchase order and mail will catch up with them. Cancel the order. eBay has an option that now says "buyer wants me to ship it to an address that I don't ship to" or something like that. I make zero exceptions for this. I don't care what the circumstances are. I don't care how it happened. Either I am shipping to the address that offers seller protection or we are not doing business. I save myself a lot of headaches int the long run.
  4. Disney is killing it with that droid factory thing they have going. The second best thing Hasbro did was sublicense the Build-a-Droid concept back to Disney. The best thing? Well that was Disney's decision to make new sculpts in scale with the Hasbro figures. History of the line: http://4lomkuss.com/h-a-n-hasbro-ad-network/disneys-droid-factory-build-a-droid-guide/
  5. Understanding exactly how this is going to roll out and my responsibilities to eBay as well as other states is seemingly beyond my comprehension. Guess I would just do more consignments and Facebook and Craigslist’s sales I guess. is there a simple cheat sheet to understand what to do? eBay itself doesn’t seem to be too clear on the issue.
  6. Looks like Facebook groups are the wave of the future. This is what they will never get, the more they tax the people, the more the people will find ways to go about their business to avoid the tax. I say this as I know of someone that may or may not be moving furniture into a neighbor's garage so they can redo their living room and put up new drywall without having the village interfere and tax them for it. In my area you cannot put up new drywall or fix the pipes in your own bathroom without alerting the town and paying a permit fee. It used to be that they would require permits and taxation if you were installing an additional bathroom or something like that but some code enforcement agents are taking it to the extreme lately.
  7. So wait, as a seller am I paying sales tax out of my listing because then I will just increase prices.
  8. And then there is the beauty of eBay. Just received $425 + shipping for a copy of ASM 31 in a CGC 6.5 setting an all time GPA high. eBay and PayPal fees more than make up for what I just sold the book for.
  9. After watching all of you fight over it I will concede I was wrong and reverse my opinion. I weighed what was said and I revert my opinion of MJ being the greatest but would definitely put LeBron at the very top.
  10. Golf is actually very fun to attend in person. I went to the Open a couple of times and it was a blast. Turned out to be one big party walking around all day. I went to the US Tennis Open for the first time this year. I also enjoyed that and it was something I would go back to see again as well.
  11. Let's watch the forum tear itself into a war over this next two then... Best Overall MLB Player of All Time: Then You also get to craft the best team of all time to field a game... I will give you 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, C, 2 Pitchers but indicate who you are starting, Reliever, 3 outfielders... and just to cheat I will give you a DH. I'll check on this at lunch.
  12. Chinese vendors (pointing a finger there as it seems that is where most of the counterfeits originate at), have always looked at the second hand market and not just generally released retail items as possible items to duplicate for their own sales. eBay sellers such as tunghori and viperskingdom seem to have a line to the factory where they have access to quality control figures or loose samples. Speculation has abounded as to the actual source of their items. However, as soon as Hasbro started discontinuing the original 6" series and you saw Luke in X-Wing hit $60 Chinese manufacturers saw a chance to make money where Hasbro did not. You should see what's going on with Lego... wooo... whole sets under the Lepin brand with Lepin pop up stores...
  13. I don't know if this is directed toward me but if it is, it is a very fair question / statement. I never pretended to be noble in my inquiry concerning his claim. As I stated before, no matter who created Iron Man, the sun will still rise and I still have to go to work in five hours. My concern is simply one of questioning the claim. If I feel a statement is B.S. why not call someone out on it? If we are giggling at it, then (at least to me) we are giggling at something of his own design. There is a difference between that and say making fun of someone who did something stemming from a disability or condition or something of that sort. It also gives you the right to call me out on my own B.S. You may have a very valid claim. Do I shut up and mind my business? Maybe I should. I'm not claiming any moral high ground here. Of my personal feelings in it, I don't feel I have to and not out of some self righteous crusade. As I stated, I want to know for my own interest. I talk about it here because this is a discussion place for these things. I discuss this in the same way that my friends and I stare at and laugh about the idiocy we see on the Long Island Railroad when we commute in the morning. I get involved in things at my own discretion and face those consequences as they come and perhaps learn from them in some cases or tighten my resolve in others. Right now I am looking at Layton the same way I would anyone on the street, that here is some guy making outrageous claims that make no sense as to them being true. What makes him think this and why does he feel it's okay for him to say? I guess it is in the same way you might be calling me out on what you perceive to be my B.S. I will say one thing for myself though, as I said this is not an internet big set if you know what I mean. I would ask him what basis he makes that claim right to his face, not in a confrontational "let's have a fistfight type of way' but one along the lines of, 'you said this. Why? I am curious as to what you base that claim on." Going to bed now... might go back and buy that book. Damn you.
  14. Someone in the sales forum should be mighty upset right now. After I said in another thread that I don't look in the sales threads anymore I figured I would give it a try. I was just about to quote and when I got the notification that you quoted me. Now I figure I don't need it and will simply head to bed. You saved me a few hundred.
  15. eBay fees don't bother me. Someone made an offer on something yesterday morning. It was $145. They offered $107. Told them this is a take it or leave it offer of $125. I probably should have sold it for $110 but the way I see it is that the extra $15 compensates for the fees. I have bought on FB groups but never sold. One time I tried to sell and the buyer flaked and never sent the money. So... Maybe I will try it again.
  16. I dunno... It is something that I would ask him at a show but I say it with a shrug. I like a good story and wanna hear from him how he created Iron Man. If my neighbor walked around tomorrow and started saying that he created Iron Man putting it on his social media profile, I would ask him the same thing. In either case I have to go to work tomorrow so my life doesn't change but I would still ask. I think in this society we have lost sight on what the difference is between harassment and actual trolling versus calling someone out on their nonsense or in this case their b.s.
  17. As much as I loved Jordan... I have to agree and I don't even watch basketball in the way that I used to anymore.
