  1. I just checked and somehow the book was transferred out of my ownership DESPITE me rejecting the claim. So... I added it to my slot and will be writing a message to CBK76.
  2. It honestly is an easy way to keep track of my slabbed books. With the entry of a bar code number I can have access to grade and PQ and a photo if I upload it. All of this is in my phone so long as I can connect to the internet. There have been shows I've been at where I literally deferred to the registry when trying to determine which of two ASM books I should upgrade.
  3. He has nothing I want. The real reason though is that if he did it with me, he is probably using someone else's books in other slots. Not cool once it gets sorted out... if it gets sorted out. If I am wrong here then I will definitely make a public apology to the guy and I admit I will look stupid. However, there is enough dishonesty in our hobby and I grow intolerant of seeing even a slight bit more.
  4. Just wondering. This book has been available online to purchase. I just got home from seeing Lewis Black (Great show) to find this email from CGC. This is no mistake as anyone who enters their books in the registry knows, the bar code number has to not only be correct but entered into the correct spot in the set. You cannot enter the code anywhere and hope it works. So... this begs the question. Who is TheComicBookKid76, and why would a 41 year old (I presume) individual feel compelled to steal numbers to pad points? Discuss. BTW... I just went through the books I have available for sale and this book is still in my possession.
  5. I blocked him. However, I was debating writing him back until I read Darkstar's comment and realized that anything I said would not give the guy pause to think and wouldn't matter anyway.
  6. You can all make up your own mind on this. I know what I am doing. Maybe it is my NY skepticism but I am always uncomfortable with inquiries like this. This was for a book that I do not have a "best offer" option made available.
  7. Some of the early Disney cels were cut to the image or a smaller size and given out as souvineers or sold in the parks as novelty pieces.
  8. I believe there was a genuine interest in improving the message board experience and it was believed that a new board design would bring about a more positive experience for the users. There are a number of features that I like VERY much on these boards. I like the notification when I am tagged or quoted. The search feature through PMs is another big plus. I believe that the layout will be tweaked over time so that borders are widened and there is less 'white' (which I am turned off by). It seems sluggish in comparison to the old boards but that may be a result of the system still settling in. I am taking a wait and see approach. Arch has already added in a number of features due to our suggestions and they are willing to listen. For those that are making positive contributions and critiques on what is wrong with it, CGC appears to be listening. To those that can just offer, "this sucks". I don't know what to tell you other than what I tell those that are on my team. If you think something is wrong or sucks, then it is fine to let me know. However don't tell me something is flawed unless you have an idea on how to improve it or can help think up a solution.
  9. From Rebelscum.com Philip Wise of Rebelscum recently had his sample of the infamous Rocket Firing Boba Fett Kenner Prototype stolen. Item was last seen in the Texas area. Needless to say, this is a VERY high profile action figure and a grail amongst Star Wars collectors. Some of us travel in all sorts of collecting circles so you never know. Personally, unless there is any evidence or leads on who took it or how item left the premises, I do not see this showing up again for awhile. If a collector took it, this could be like the Nick Cage Action 1 which disappeared for (what was it?) ten years. If it was stolen to be sold, then it would show up eventually... What a shame. Sucks as a collector and there is an obvious sense of dread when you think something like that could happen to you.
  10. So no Clerks III or Mallrats II ? Since all you really need for Clerks is Dante and Randall there should only be two leads that determine whether or not the movie goes forward. Bet you it was Randall who turned down Clerks III. He was feuding with Smith for a couple of years if I remember correctly. If it is, kill him off and let Dante learn to cope with the loss of his friend.
  11. My 2001 Mustang still goes Zoom Zoom
  12. I've won cases like this before. "Delivered" is sufficient if you printed the label directly from eBay or PayPal itself. Get a different person on the phone or argue yourself up to the next level.
  13. When I try to check it out I am met with a message from eBay that the listing no longer exists or has been deleted.
  14. It has gotten to the point that I basically pick up one title each month. That title is ASM and I read it when there is absolutely nothing else to do. I have the Marvel Unlimited account but have lost interest in following their recent story lines. I actually like Slott's work on Spider-man, but I do not like the creative direction that the company has taken the Marvel Universe. Reading Slott's Spider-man has been like watching Picasso paint a cathedral ceiling with one armed tied behind his back and confined to using a Crayola 8 - Pack because the cathedral owners don't have a clue as to what he could really do if given free reign. Also... it's been ten years. Bring back the Spider-Marriage and bury Gwen again and keep Uncle Ben dead.
  15. I do not mind the cold. I do not mind the snow. I DO mind shoveling the snow in the cold.
  16. Yes, but I believe it was more from my decision to test the book. The book in question was worth a couple of hundred dollars. I had purchased it as a 4.5 Light Tan to Off White. I then decided to test the book with the company across the street. The book went from a 4.5 to a 4.0. Then I decided to have it reholdered in a CGC slab and it went to a 3.5. There the book stays as a 3.5. The book in question? Side note... in order to meet the size requirements of uploaded images I had to scan the book then shrink it and take a screen cap of it. Photobucket is looking better... and better
  17. Not really... most quality pics are around 1mb these days if not a little more
  18. Way too much work - I will continue with Photobucket
  19. Damn... I live in NY... we don't like walls anyway... except for an Ex GF and almost all of Staten Island and some of the crazy Italians in Brooklyn all of whom are the reason why my FB is currently deactivated. Got sick of turning on FB to see nothing but arguing.
  20. That is why I raise the prices and enter into the whole thing with the mindset that, "Eventually someone will agree to the price." I know that there are some if not many that depend on it as a second source of income. I am lucky enough that I do not so I can presently afford to let things sell at the price I want for each item.
  21. Buyers within the US: Fees are raising from 3.7% to 4.2% My question is - is the buyer charged a fee for dealing with currency exchange or am I facing the increase due to a buyer purchasing something from outside the US. Because I am starting to lean more and more with setting up eBay Global Shipping program or tacking on an "additional fee" for non-US buyers when it comes to selling things on eBay.
  22. I just tried uploading one that was 677kb and it was not allowed.
  23. I would like to but almost all of my images are larger than .44mb
  24. I had to learn the old boards from scratch... I am sure I will learn these ones just the same...
