I'm surprised the 3-cover sets of Gold are still available. I thought they "sold out" last weekend?
Also surprised the 3-cover Blue sets are available... after almost 2 and 1/2 hours available....

This was my thought exactly.
Besides, it makes me feel good when people "like" my posts.

That could be a fun game NamesJay. I applaud your perseverance. Give us an example of the type of game you have in mind, if only to see how long it takes someone to the answer? Maybe it will inspire a more enthusiastic response.
Sure thing... I'll post something tomorrow afternoon and a link here with the "first installment"

So, based on responses and feedback here, I won't be the one to revive the PIF thread.
Alternatively, I'm going to begin a new thread with a "comic based game" with the winner of the game receiving a prize.
Rules:
1) If you "win" you have to create your own game and offer a prize. The game could be as simple as a trivia question, but in the spirit of the contest, the harder the game, the better the prize should be.
2) Must specify whether International members are allowed to participate. Or if there is an expectation of helping with shipping charges...
3) There should be a level of effort in producing the game. Nothing like "Who created Amazing Spider-Man?" Don't create a question that can be 'solved' by a Google search in under a minute.
4) It doesn't matter what VALUE your prize is. There is no need to offer a prize of equal value to the previous game runner. This will hopefully alleviate the issues with the PIF thread.
Before I begin the thread, "what say you?"

maybe a loose action figure trading thread :-)

Need Help With Calculating Shipping With USPS 1095 Box
I've seen several posts about how the recommended way to ship CGC comics are inside a 1092, and inside a 1095 box.
When I go to USPS site to calculate costs, I am getting $13.60 when I select "medium priority box" and $18.85 when I select "large priority box."
I thought that local delivery would be cheaper (around $8 range).
Am I doing something wrong?

This is a comment about your tier structure, not necessarily a criticism, but you posted the following as an example:
2) Tier structure:
Bronze - $1 - $50 book
Silver - $50 - $100 book
Gold - $100 - $200 book
Platinum - $200 - $500 book
Assuming this is restricted to CGC slabs, I'm not sure what these values represent. Any given SA slab of any interest is likely going to exceed that $50 to $100 range on everything but the lowest drek. I would think the same for Gold, for the most part, but would a desirable CGC menu not need to assume higher values?
The Tier names aren't meant to indicate a period of publications. The tier's could have just as easily been labeled Red, Green, Blue and Yellow.
And the more I think about it making it CGC only really would filter out a large part of the audience.
Let's have the brainstorming begin on the best way to implement a new PIF thread :-)
-
Well right now more people think the idea should be kaboshed, but that doesn't necessarily mean the PIF shouldn't be revived at all...
I'd like people to chime in on the Tier structure I mentioned on top of the thread -- or suggestions on a new implementation of the PIF thread.
Would it even be worth it to restrict it to CGC graded comic books? Will there be a large enough market to entertain that possibility?
Got a comic room??? Showcase it here!

I use ULINE storage racks. Fit small boxes, magazine boxes and CGC graded comic boxes purfectly.
