  1. Bleeding Cool's take on the news:

    http://www.bleedingcool.com/2014/01/23/if-the-y-the-last-man-film-doesnt-shoot-soon-brian-k-vaughan-and-pia-guerra-will-get-the-rights-back/

The attached director, Dan Trachtenberg, is a legit comics fan (he loves THE MANHATTAN PROJECTS) and as much as I'd like him to have a shot, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if the rights reverted back to BKV and Pia. YTLM would be best as a TV series and that's where I hope it lands.

    :applause:

I would HOPE it would be on HBO. The possibilities..... Wow.

I think it would fit well with AMC, too.

If they give it a reasonable budget and dont mess with the writers/producers.

  2. So, someone asked earlier about scale, so I thought I'd make a chart that I can reference in the future.

I also decided to use the pic to illustrate the reason why I argue that 1/4th scale is the best value overall, and why I can no longer bring myself to buy Bowens, irrespective of how good the piece might be. I selected pieces available on Sideshow's site right now, and they're all typical for the scale as far as size and price go:

I stopped buying bowens because of this reason. Typically I'll go comiquettes or bigger, unless it's a rare dio at a good price.

This is probably one of my favorite all time statues. I don't currently own it, but it's a Bowen and I think worthy of any collection.

This picture doesn't do it justice. In person it's just phenomonal.

  3. Sweet, thanks man! The Pax cabinets are exactly what I'm looking for. I'm curious, are there glass doors on the besta cabinets pictured? The main reason I passed on the besta, the only glass doors they sold had a thick wood border that I felt obscured too much of the display case. I'd prefer to have a display case with glass doors, it makes a big difference come dusting day.

I love my little statue collection, except on dusting day. Then I curse the day I ever bought them, and contemplate sticking them back in their boxes.

    :tonofbricks:

The doors you're talking about are the ones they designed for the besta, but you can get other doors to put on (like the ones pictured). That thread discusses all that stuff.

Also, here's a video that one of the guys in the Sideshow collecting community made, actually walking you through Ikea and showing exactly what he buys for his besta/glass door setup.

The end of this video shows his CGC collection.

Not bad statue guy not bad.

His statue collection is worth a lot more than his comic collection.

Hearing him talk about a "nice " on a statue is a little disturbing, lol.

  4. If I could own any page from any series, it would be this one.

My favorite series of all time, my favorite character of the series, and my favorite page from the series.

    Still miss you Amp

if you dont get choked up during that part, you have no soul

    +1 (thumbs u

  5. I miss the following old school arcade games: Gauntlet, Q*bert, Ms Pac-Man. With all these brand new systems, these games are impossible to find.

I know there are some Internet versions but without the joystick or controller, they don't feel the same.

You would think with the online games available, they would just keep them on there for a small amount of money. They aren't graphic intensive and I cant imagine them costing much money - so why not just leave them on there?

  6. The spoiler tags are annoying. Anyone opening this thread should be aware that people are talking about the show and that obviously includes the most recent airing. Some people are waiting for the bluray. Where to draw the line?

    /rant

I have to agree with this. Practically every forum on the Internet, when dealing with spoilers, has a "fair game" policy after the first airing of the television show.

Why not just wait to see an episode before reading this thread?

Having to click these spoiler "reveals" in the majority of the thread is getting annoying.

So "clicking" things on the internet is annoying? How has your head NOT exploded by now? lol

How about scrolling? Does that leave a burning sensation?

    Refreshing must unbearable. lol

Most of these comments were made less than 36 hours after the first showing of the new episode. I don't think that's extreme, strange, or otherwise unreasonable.

yeah yeah yeah, I get it - I'm in the minority
