  1. What cleaning constitutes conservation rather than restoration?

My understanding is that acts of conservation are done to halt the process of degradation of the book.
Example: Putting a tear seal on a tear halts that tear from growing as it has created a weak point in the paper that could be easily further ripped.

    What cleaning halts degradation?
The only thing I can think is if there's mold and the cleaning was to remove the mold...

    How about “buyer beware”.

Make your own judgements, read the fine print and understand what you’re getting into.

Only problem is that sellers aren't required to disclose that they don't have the books in hand.

So maybe a "meet in the middle" version of the rule is that sellers must disclose any books that aren't "in hand" with estimated receipt dates?

  3. Looks like the old tried and true "Put a 1092 box inside a 1095 box" method doesn't work any more?

I used the last of my stack of 1095s recently and got some new ones in and they're now different dimension!

    The old ones were 15.375 x 12.5 x 3.125

    The new ones are 15 x 12 x 3.125

Going from 12.5" wide to 12" wide means a 1092 doesnt fit anymore!

Not sure how long ago this changed, but figured it was worth sharing a heads up.

Morning Glories TPB Vol 1-8 - All are first printings except Vol. 1, which is second printing. All are in great shape with some very minor shelf wear. Most are unread with the first couple volumes maybe read once or twice. - $35 (I can ship this via Media Mail if that's all you buy.)

Is there a date stamp or a hand written date on the back? (Would love a pic!)

This book was not on Alan's list of Okajimas, and is the only issue of the title known in her collection. Very cool. This would DEFINITELY be a top 5 key for the pedigree.

The "T" distribution code in the "S" in spirit is consistant with the markings from that Era of the pedigree (late '46 to late '53)

  6. some sellers try too hard to be salesmen... and it doesnt land.

I'll look past it if the price is right.

I'll also express dissatisfaction to the potential seller if I drove 4 hours to see "thousands of Siver Age comics that havent been touched in 50 years" and show up to 2 long boxes of picked thru bronze age trash that smell like smoke and mildew.

That why picture evidence before making a long drive is key.
