  1. I agree. If it's not to late to arrest the brittlness, do it. Brittle is bad. I avoid brittle. The only time brittle is okay is if you're trying to dump a book. Most collectors in the know avoid brittle books.
  2. So are the reader's... I have a bunch of issues of the Funnies, but I only get them for the John Carter stories. I swear I've never read a Phantasmo story - not that there's anything wrong with that. Jeff I've heard that Larry Craig collect The Funnies......it all makes sense now. Didn't Phantasmo engage in some kind of toe tapping ritual?
  3. One can really see just how much a "man of peace" Nordac truly is. Is that a newsprint cover on that book?
  4. Thanks for the scans, Scrooge. I'm a big fan of Jack Cole's work but, unfortunately, I don't think his style is appreciated by most other collectors. Being an MLJ collector and a fan of Jack Cole's "Comet" I certainley appreciate his style. It's refreshing to see some of Quality's stuff here, for they do seem to be under represented on the boards. I think ounce for ounce Quality had by far superior stories and artwork.
  5. If I had to choose one I'd take Bedrocks copy! Such rich colors.
  6. Lamest superhero strip ever. You don't want me to prove you wrong, trust me ... I gotta tell you...I've read some doozies!
  7. It's as if Briefer, way back in '39, knew what the future was going to be like. And didn't Lord Marvel remind you of someone who just might collect comic books as well as invent fiendish devices?
  8. Sorry...just wanted to beat Richard to the punch. MF 101 and half of Flash #30 for me.
  9. Wouldn't that be cheating? I'm sure President Bush would rather play the game fair and square. Wish he'd start soon.
  10. Boy, the colors on that Hercules story really jump out at you.
  11. It's so sad the way corporations cheat the creators and in this case, their families. Did I read it correctly? Does Seigal's widow recieves a pension of only 135,000 dollars a year, if so, that's chump change, especially for the lady Lois Lane was modelled after.
  12. Who did the cover? Sam Cooper did the interior art on the first story( he drew Mr. Justice in Blue Ribbon Comics) but I can't tell who drew the cover.
  13. So now my 7.5 with white pages that WAS the highest graded issue is now the second highest graded. What are the odds of there being three issues from 1941 being graded and two of them having white pages? And how improbable is it that it would be a Fiction House comic? Aside from my instant urge to strangle you for taking away my highest graded status, that's a beautiful book. Well Seank, here's what I would do for you.......... I don't want to see you in prison for strangling me, and I would hate to be strangeld anyway ( sounds violent and icky ). I would sell my highest graded 29 to you for $2,000 ( a very fair price considering it's NM- , has WHITE pages, and is the highest graded copy likely never to be topped ). You could sell your VF- for .....oh, let's say $750. This means for $1250 out of your pocket after your sale, you can go back to owning the highest graded copy with identical unimprovable PQ. The offer is on the table buddy....you can let my book really bother you, or you can make it yours! Steve Something must be wrong with CGC's software....it seems that we're able to read peoples PM's offering comics for sale...oh, it's not a PM? Oops.... my bad. Just kidding, I hope things aren't all that bad Showcase. But I have to tell you...I get creeped out when I read "Here's what I would do for you" and "icky" in the same post. It makes me think of Congress for some strange reason.
  14. That generation of artist and writers...let alone that whole generation will be sorely missed. I feel very strongly about seeing all the golden Age reprinted and saved for posterity.
  15. Hey BZ...what are the earliest Action Comics that you have?
