The flea markets back east were over flowing with Popular Mechanics as a kid. Mechanix Illustrated too I suppose. I never bought them but was always intrigued by the cover illustrations of some of the older issues which promised a future that sure didn't exist. Mainly I used to think why does everyone have Popular Mechanics and no one has comics!!
Too many Moms threw them out.

Wow, I'm shocked that code hasn't been cracked. Seems like that would make a great thread; "Crackin' the Crippen Code!" Wonder if there are enough examples out there to figure it out. Too bad CGC doesn't photo doc the inside code for reference (I assume they don't.)
Great Plastic Man books by the way; real beauties from an under appreciated hero and title.
My Dad's favorites were Plastic Man, Captain Marvel and Superman. In that order. Captain Marvel was pretty popular in those days.

Oh, I got it too. That kind of dough would probably buy some nice stilettos…

I’m not sure I recall all the details, but I think it was almost as good as ‘Guy Inherits 100 Billion, Acquires Captain America #1 CGC 9.8’.
I think he also wanted to buy Twitter but missed out.

I don't get butthurt anymore. I'm too numb for that.
There's a hemorrhoid ointment joke in there somewhere.

Top Notch was one of favorites. I loved The Firefly. It was a bummer reading #27 to find that The Firefly story was to be continued in the next issue, which of course never happened as it turned into Top Notch Laugh.

#10 -- my newest favorite MLJ cover. I'd never seen this one until it popped up on ebay. Love the scale of the figures, and the colors are super vibrant.
My favorite Top Notch cover.

Anyone have a guess on what the Church Pep 22 and Archie 1 would fetch in todays market?

Where's the color touch on the cover?
Wasn't that for the Church Action 1?

Perhaps a direct query to CGC would be the best way to go?
Do you know how to get in touch with them?
