The work Frazetta did on those covers was amazing. I never collected those but I always loved them.

I haven't read the grader notes but that Supes 9 looks like it could be a 9.4.....if it were a Promise.

I used to hang out at his house and leaf through his comics. Tons of GA. It's great that you kept that card.

Is that the guy who lost his collection (of many San Francisco books) to a fire in the Oakland hills?
No, I think that was Teddy Dang. Barry got rid of all his books and died in an accident.

Any West Coasters remember Barry Bauman from Oakland and his Bat Cave in the 60's?

Collector and lover of comics. I collected when I was a kid in the 50's-early sixties and started up again in 1997. Completed some MLJ runs and then sold out for some dumb reason and only kept a small amount of books that had meaning to me. There's no way I could reclaim the books I had but I had a hell of good time acquiring those books and met some great people through comics. Now I'm more of a voyeur, watching others doing their thing and that's all right. I had my collection, enjoyed it and moved on.

Is the "S" stamp included in that auction lot?
Oh...I thought that was an 8 which are the number of letters in Rockford.

I remember vividly buying AF15 off the rack and being ticked off when I realized the format had been changed and it was no longer Amazing Adult Fantasy.
