Alex Schomburg is probably the most prominent cover artist during WWII.
As for titles, Captain America, Marvel Mystery, Action Comics, Superman, All Select are a handful by Timely and DC.
Pep Comics, Uncle Sam, the black terror, the short lived "Daredevil battles Hitler" is pretty wild... The list goes on and on.
The most dramatic in my opinion is Hangman #3. Lots and lots of great ones though.
Also, Pep 20 and Zip 22. Great war time covers.

Just noticed Graders notes indicate top staple rust stain on pages so that will surely keep the price down even with the coveted white pages.
That's a shame. I hate rusted staples, especially when the rust stain migrates to the paper and weakens it.

A 6.5 with white pages! Nice book.

That's right. The Comet dies. Forgot about that.

Montana Pep covers are the best.

Most of The Hangman stories in Pep and Hangman and Black Hood comics were great. Lucey, Novick and Fuji did some great work.
The Firefly was a great series in Top Notch Comics. From 8-27 with the last story in 27 ending with to be continued. It never was as the comic became Top Notch Laugh. The horribly tragic Bob Wood did some fine work.

The Firefly was one of my favorite MLJ characters. The stories and art seemed a cut above.

If I was stranded on a desert island with the choice of the complete works of any one comic creator, it would be Carl Barks. Every panel was a work of art.

I don’t know if I’ve told this one before, or not. It was mid sixties and my friend Jim and I visited a guy named Barry Bauman at his home in Oakland or possibly San Francisco. He had a solid wall of shelving with ten inch high stacks of high grade golden age comics. I was awestruck with his runs of Quality comics. Military, Doll Man, and especially Police Comics. Hit and Spirit; just name it and he had them. Of course, I was buying twelve cent Marvel silver age off the news stands and spending 2 and three dollars for my EC passion, so 3 dollars each for a high grade run of Police was out of the question. Don’t remember buying a single thing that day. Sob…
I knew Barry. Used to hang out at his mom's home in Oakland. I believe it was High Street. We called it The Bat Cave. He had some books!

On the phone with an antique type shop who had Archie 1-10. Low to mid grade according to him. Late 90's early 2000. Wanted a grand. I was such a tightwad that I told him I'll sleep on it and call him the next day. I waited two days and they were gone. Still kicking myself.
A few years later a Pep 22 vg+ for $2500.00. Same thing happened. I began sensing a pattern.
