We feel it is important to provide transparency on how CGC arrived at our method of certifying Clayton Crain’s Ultimate Fallout comics with the attached acetate covers. For us, this was an unprecedented item to grade. After Mr. Crain spoke with us prior to C2E2, the rules we applied to his books:

    • The additional cover had to be created by an established artist in the industry.
    • The comic to which the cover was attached had to contain a cover by that same artist.
    • A copy of the comic with the attached cover had to be submitted to us for inspection prior to certifying any copies.

Given the recent circumstances, we have made adjustments to the labeling originally used for the Ultimate Fallout exhibiting the acetate cover. Going forward, any copies submitted to CGC will display in the label text: "In God We Intrust" Acetate Artist Cover attached with 2 staples after manufacturing. The books will still be allowed to receive a Universal label.

This will also apply to Mr. Crain’s forthcoming copies of Ghost Rider #1 and Deadpool Nerdy 30 #1 that contain an acetate cover.

I assume the already graded copies of the other two books won't have these additional notes yet. Will Black Flag need to send those back to fix before they sell them?

My last one at C2E2 was in 2019 just before the shutdown due to COVID-19 pandemic.  I haven't attended it ever since but I heard there were fewest comic book dealers this year.  Comic4less gave up on the shows three years ago.  So far, Reece's, Dale Roberts Comics, (maybe) Graham Crackers Comics and Superworld Comics. Who else exhibited there?

Harley, HighGrade, Dave & Adam's, Metropolis, Victory, Tomorrow's Treasures that I remember. I can think of two dealers with good sized booths that had some nice GA but I don't know the names. I don't recall them being there before. There were quite a few more dealers with a variety of books.

    Here is the owner's video

Thanks for this. That's the video I watched.  Does he say at some point that the book is to benefit veterans? I don't think I can sit through it again to find out

Really? Can you share anything that says that? The way the guy from Black Flag was talking in the now removed Facebook video, it seemed he just wanted to sell out so he didn't lose money. I don't remember him saying anything about veterans. If he really was doing this to benefit veterans I think he would have led with that. I admit I didn't watch the entire video but I think I watched the whole thing before he started to talk about Boston.

  5. For anyone attending Friday, Elton John is playing at nearby Soldier Field so there will be street parking restrictions in the area. I think it starts one or two hours before an event (not sure what time the concert starts) and continues one or two hours after the event as well. If you get there early and are lucky enough to find a spot on the street be sure to check the signs. If you stay late your car could end up being towed. Traffic will probably be extra terrible on the way out Friday as well.

These cases were done on purpose by cgc, do you not know this? there was a big hubbub when they were issued....

These were "gimmicks" or the like, promoted by the "bad idea" company earlier this year or late last, and CGC went with it, clarity the "bad idea" is an actual company name and not a opinion

I thought that when I first saw this but I don't think these are the Bad Idea invisible comics. These are cracked out cases

  7. Since this has been going on for a while now, has anyone had to make a claim with collectinsure? I know for a package to be insured for shipping they require that the package be shipped with signature confirmation. But I wonder what they'll do if it was shipped that way but not signed for by the recipient and just left by the carrier. For me UPS is the only one that even rings the doorbell but they don't wait.
