  1. Not so subtle "I'm the high bidder, everybody else stay away" post Dan.
  2. That blue label getting a 6.0 is absurd. I've got 5.0s that look better.
  3. I was mostly teasing you about your name, but color touch doesn't bother me that much either. Carry on!
  4. I suspect the consignor is regretting their choice of auction house right about now.
  5. With the absurd stigma purple labels have, my suspicion is it will get regraded pretty soon, even though it would look pretty great in a mylar after taking the "new" staple out.
  6. If I had won it, I'd just take the bottom staple out and resubmit it. Voila, blue label. The lack of a staple wouldn't affect the grade at all.
  7. 144 copies of that book 9.6 or better. I'd bet a years worth of paychecks there's no discernible difference between the 9.9 and the rest.
  8. I won't be attending this year, as it's too close to Baltimore for me to comfortably rebuild my war chest. I'll tell @MrBedrock not to sell anything cool until after Baltimore.
  9. Man, any chance you still have that Detective Eye 2 @MrBedrock?
  10. That Cap Marvel Jr 1 is just killer. I don't even care about that title for the most part, but that book...just wow.
  11. Some weird underwater books that never seem to surface (lol) Blue Bolt 4 maybe? Prize Comics 18? @telerites
  12. An upgrade to my GAG6 and a new addition to the underwater collection. It's underwater enough for me anyway.
  13. A smart man told me that for the really cool stuff, there isn't quite enough supply to create the appropriate demand, and that stuff usually goes for less than it should because people don't understand how cool AND rare it is. I'm usually okay with those results.
  14. I think this is the 3rd big run of GA Flash I've seen that didn't have a copy of 96 in the mix.
  15. I follow his Instagram page, dude is a wizard.
  16. You have to keep things in perspective. A whole bunch of these big books haven't changed hands for decades sometimes. Also, a lot of the guys I consider to have the mega collections have been building their hoard for 35 years or more, before prices really went berserk. I've only been pursuing GA for 3 or 4 years, and there's zero chance I would be able to afford my collection at today's prices.
  17. I've told my better half not to even entertain the possibility if things with us went south. I'd sooner burn them in the front yard. (Or at least pretend to.)
  18. A lot of pedigree books have distinguishing factors, whether cover markings, interior markings, or even specific smells.
