  1. Finally found a nice looking copy. I suspect the high hammer in the recent CC auction drove this one to market, for which I'm thankful. Almost bone white pages, if you can believe it.
  2. It's why I love buying books from you. Such an intoxicating aroma when you read through it the first time.
  3. I know I wouldn't resub my Toledo unless I knew dang well it was getting returned in a pedigree slab.
  4. There are Toledo books slabbed with the new cases running around now. I have one, but it's old label, and I was always hesitant to resubmit it because it wasn't listed on their website anymore.
  5. I have dozens of pedigree books, and just can't imagine paying shipping for reholdering that many books. I'll keep my blue labels and be perfectly happy.
  6. When I was a kid, my group of friends played either Warhammer or Axis & Allies every weekend, religiously. One of my commanders would always get the moniker General I Have Failed You. As you can guess, he wasn't part of many successful military engagements.
  7. Saw it in IMAX a couple of hours ago. I really enjoyed this one. Maybe my favorite Spidey so far. Mysterio was great, and I really enjoyed all the turns they took to tell the story.
  8. I think the All-American 21 is probably my favorite GA Green Lantern cover.
  9. Since it's been almost 3 weeks since I sent my check in the mail, and I've received no communication, I'm going to send them a reminder that they should kindly ship my books. If they've already shipped, please let me know when they shipped, so I can know when to expect them.
  10. Similar content to @GreatCaesarsGhost, but much less personal. I posted this once before in the "what else do you collect" thread. I'm a very small time gun collector, and am particularly fascinated by WWII infantry weapons. I have several interesting pieces, but this is my favorite. I got a call from a friend of mine that someone he knew was selling a bunch of stuff, and he possibly had a k98 Mauser, which I was hunting. I arrive to find a few dozen handguns spread out on a hardwood floor, and it was definitely a mixed bag. My eyes were instantly drawn to this piece, as I had a feeling I knew what it was. After some research, I confirmed it was an FN Hi-Power, made in Nazi occupied Belgium in 1943. This is a numbers matching gun, likely brought home by a GI after the war. The frame, barrel, and slide are all stamped with the Waffenamt acceptance logo, the manufacturing code, and the serial number. The wooden grips are in great shape and original, and the magazine is period correct, but no real way of telling if it's the original mag or not. These guns were typically only carried by the Waffen-SS, or members of the Fallschirmjäger, which were paratroopers from the Luftwaffe. Pretty chilling piece of history, and it's definitely my favorite non-comic collectible.
  11. I mean sure, if you're into that whole high grade thing.
  12. I'm still curious about these alleged "other incidents of similar behavior." Barring proof of that, I'm fine with either outcome of this member's probationary status, as I really don't think that list has much bearing on the day to day transactions on this forum. I suspect if the right book is offered at the right price, people would buy it from almost anybody, despite their inclusion in the PL/HoS. Personal history and word of mouth is a much more effective deterrent for me. That said, I like the proposed rule change. It adds a touch of impartiality to the process. I'd vote for it if there was a poll.
  13. Yep. Not zero, but I don't do it much. Tennessee has 9.75% sales tax.
  14. That's what credit cards are for man. What kind of American are you?
  15. It's an incredible accomplishment man. Some of the early books aren't as easy to find as people think, especially in high grade.
  16. Love these reports sir! Great work! The only thing that was missing was @jimjum12
  17. There have been some interesting trade proposals so far, and some solid offers, but I'm not there yet. One bump, then this goes back on my wall.
  18. @DavidTheDavid and @path4play Definitely would be pressable up to 10. No guarantees on grade once it leaves my zip code.
  19. Thanks for the kind words and memes, gents! Back cover scan, as requested by one of my favorite boardies!
  20. Payment by Paypal or check (references a must if I don't know you). Payment expected promptly unless time payments are arranged beforehand. Shipping is included for US folks, and I'll chip in $15 for Canucks. Each package will be shipped in a box, with tracking. Insurance can be added at your request, but you foot the bill. I'll reluctantly take a return within 5 days of receipt, but all these will be slabs, so look carefully when you're shopping. Return shipping is on you unless I'm at fault. Been a minute since I've sold, so I may have missed something. Either call me out in the thread or through PM, I don't care. On to the goods! This pedigree has been getting a ton of attention recently, and has some pretty significant sales. If you follow this pedigree, you know it's pretty "key" barren. This one definitely fits my criteria for key. I don't much care if this sells, but if you think you have an offer for me, I'll consider it. Interesting trades possible, so feel free to reach out. Thun'Da 1, Okajima copy (only comic to be completely done by Frank Frazetta) $8,000 is the asking price! If somebody wants a back cover scan, I'm happy to provide it.
  21. They have the coolest catalogs in the business in my mind. I only collect comics, but I love all the political memorabilia, the toys, the WWII propaganda...just a whole lot of neat in that book.
