    Good speechless or bad?

At this point I believe you need professional help. Desperately.

I don't want to hurt your feelings. I want you to succeed. Please know that.

But you're not going to be able to do this on your own. Please find a way to talk to a secular, professional mental health professional with the requisite degrees, experience, and track record.

I'm no professional, and I've never met you in person, but you have severe delusions, and I'm worried that is a sign of bad things. I'm sorry I don't know enough about the Canadian system to advise you any further.

Mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of. Refusing to treat it, however, is irresponsible at best and dangerous at worst.

  2. I had nothing more to say, but his vicious attitude towards his parents really gets to me, especially considering that he would be homeless, at best, without their generosity.

I'm holding back because I do think that Gabe has something going on upstairs, and I no longer take pleasure in dealing out the sort of vocal bashing he deserves.

I sincerely hope that Gabe gets the help he needs, and I hope he manages to find the way to responsibility, good ethics, and self-sustainability. I'm sad to see his backward steps.

Okay, so here is essentially what you are telling everyone, primarily all the Canadian taxpayers who are currently paying your way for you:

"I don't care enough or want to work hard enough to get and keep a real job so that I can, you know, actually support myself.  I would much rather have YOU, the taxpayers of Canada, through the income tax that YOU pay on money that YOU worked for and earned (and I still don't get why you people actually do that, but I'm working on it) pay my living expenses for me, you know, the not fun stuff like rent, food, etc.  That way I can use whatever money that I can scrape together through my various "enterprises" to buy the fun stuff, like comics, games and investing in cryptocurrency, because, you know, IT'S MY MONEY and I can do what I want with it. That's why I don't "invest" any money I can't afford to lose, because it's really YOUR money.  To sum up, I'm perfectly okay with YOU going without things you may want, but can't afford or do without  because you actually pay taxes so that I can use YOUR money to pay my living expenses so that I can use MY money to buy what I want."

Next, I'm sorry that your games and toys were destroyed.  I wouldn't wish that on anyone, and I doubt anyone else in this community would either.  But if you had a safe place to store your comics, away from the construction, why didn't you put all of your stuff there?  I know you said you covered them up, but that stuff shouldn't have even been on the same floor where the construction was taking place.

I'm also sorry your dad said what he did to you, but, take a step back, clear your head and look at it from his perspective:  He has a son (you) who is 26 years old, hasn't had a real job for several years, and his only ambition in life seems to be being a wheeler-dealer in comic books, games and toys.  Add to that the fact that in four years, he has not only made overall no profit, but has lost way more money than he has made.  Can you see how your dad might not be very enthusiastic or sympathetic about your comics, games, toys, etc.?

Did I understand correctly that you are you actually getting ANOTHER credit card? Are you truly insane, or do you just believe that that no matter what asinine things you do and situations you put yourself in, that someone will always bail you out?  You already said that you maxed out your original card, and now, for one reason or another (none of them even close to legitimate), you either can't or won't make the payments.  How is that situation right now?  Are you making the payments, even if only the minimum, and exactly how much do you owe on that card, as in what is the current balance?

I can't understand why anyone would extend you credit if you're refusing to pay what you already owe, but I hope that you don't actually believe that you were offered that card because you have a good credit rating.  First of all, 591 is not a good credit score.  Second, credit card companies strive to extend credit to those people who should absolutely not be using it (like you). The reason is simple; those are the ones who can't afford any or all of the extras (non necessities) that they want, so they use credit to buy the things they want but can't actually afford.  Before long, the card is maxed out (sound familiar?) and they are then stuck with a debt that they only make the minimum monthly payments on.  By the time the debt is paid off, if it ever is, they will have paid way more in just interest than what they charged on the card in the first place.  That's how credit card companies stay in business.  What is the interest rate on your new card?  I'll bet the number has a 2 in front of it, and if it doesn't it's real close.  Please explain why you think getting a second credit card is a good idea when you can't or won't make payments on your original one?

Finally, is the social assistance/welfare system in Canada, aside from those individuals who really need it (not you), essentially a get out of jail free card for anyone that is too lazy to get a job (like you), or have you just figured out how to work the system?  Here in the US, if you are receiving welfare payments, you not only have to actually look for a job, but you have to document and prove every potential employer you talk to or interview with.  In Nebraska where I live, you have to make at least 5 job search contacts every week and report these to the state.  If you don't document your contacts each and every week, or you lie and say you made contacts that you really didnt and they find out, you immediately lose your benefits.  In addition, if you refuse an offer of employment for a job that you are qualified to perform, you lose your benefits.  It's sad to say this, but it seems like in Canada it comes down to a matter of pride, and it's pretty evident by now that you just don't have any.

Great post, but everyone has been preaching this same sermon for YEARS.

This is getting even more painful. I can't believe it.

No. They did YOU a favor by lending you the money.

What will I do when I want a loan? That's simple. A bank would be the last place I would go and there are plenty of other alternative options.

Of course. You can go to a loan shark. I think you'll find they deal with debtors quite differently than a bank would. Who is going to lend you money when you're already head over heels into debt? Perhaps you're talking about your parents?

When you sign papers agreeing to the terms of a loan, you follow the terms. You do NOT get to decide when you pay back a loan. I can't tell my bank that I'll pay my mortgage one day, whenever I'm ready. It doesn't work that way.

Wrong. Don't make assumptions. I'm thankful that they lent me the money. However, they did me a disfavor of not helping me out when I asked for it and tried to work things out with them.

I'm wrong by saying you aren't presently paying back the money? What is there left to assume when you say, very clearly, that you told them to f-off?

    Plus, you sound completely entitled.

    * * *

I have no comment about your "girlfriend" or video-game wife or whatever...

in fact, I really do hope that things work out for you. But keep this in mind, and I'm done here...

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results.

You accuse us of asking the same questions, over and over again. Fair enough. My final question is, "When are YOU going to stop making the same mistakes, over and over again?"

I hope that you get the help you need. Best of luck.

You are putting words into my mouth, you and other boardies. I explained myself many times yet you keep asking the same questions over and over.

No one is putting words in your mouth.

You said you aren't paying the bank until YOU get ready to do so.

    No?

    You told them to f-off.

    No?

It doesn't work that way, no matter how you try to spin it.

Being a good person, responsible? hard working? Explain to me what all that means to you and I'll answer back.

Good person? Follow your word and your business contracts.

Responsible? Pay your debts, move out of your mom's basement, pay your own rent and your own monthly bills. Stop blaming your failures on other people, or your medical conditions. I know plenty of people who face much greater struggles than you do, and they get up out of bed every morning and go to a job they hate so they can pay their own way. It's called LIFE. A responsible person wouldn't blame their debt on the bank. A responsible person would take the blame for overspending and their subsequent inability to pay it off.

Hard working? That one's easy. Get a real job...and keep it.

We've been telling you this for years and you never listen. If anything, you've grown worse by an order of magnitude.

You don't understand that the "road to success" is built on HARD WORK. Seems like you want to take shortcuts, like dabbling here and there in cryptocurrency and comic book deals.

I don't respect anyone who can't live up to a financial obligation. And you want to start a business? SMH

What's going to happen when you go in for a business loan and they pull your score? Or they do a little bit of research and find out that you basically told a bank to :censored: off?

You're destroying your life and you refuse to listen to anyone.

as for the boards...let the schadenfreude continue...

The banks as far as I'm concerned can :censored: off.

Nothing more or less was said so don't put words in my mouth.

No one is putting words in your mouth. With declarative statements like the ones above, it's unnecessary.

Go ahead. Show them how tough you are. In the meantime, compounding interest is building up with each day you wait.

If you can't pay it off now, how will you do so in the future?

Looks like your road is leading to bankruptcy instead of success.

You have taken someone's money without paying them back. That's called theft where I'm from. Good luck starting and running a business with your present attitude.

I blame the bank that issued you that credit card... unless you lied or exaggerated on your cc application.

Really? I blame the guy who entered into a financial contract by signing papers which stated that he was responsible for paying money back with interest. I blame the guy who has no understanding of compounding interest or personal responsibility or simple pride. I blame the guy who feels he's entitled to make demands of his creditors, instead of understanding that it's his own fault that he cannot pay back his loans. I blame the guy who is choosing not to follow through.

The money on his credit card WAS NOT HIS money. It was the banks. He is outright refusing to pay off his debt because he's unhappy they refused some sort of settlement.

Of all the things in his journal, this action is perhaps his most offensive, in my eyes.

The business world runs on credit and the responsible repayment of loans. He is willingly destroying his own credit rating, seemingly oblivious that he is concurrently ruining his own ability to obtain one of his goals - his own business.

    Thanks newshane!

    I appreciate it!

Tell me what you think when you compare my copy with Incredible Hulk #181 CGC 9.9 MINT that sold on Comic Link for $150,000 way back in February of 2011. Thoughts? hm

    -Professor Pecora

Well, it's impossible to judge at these high grade levels based on scans alone...so I'll throw that out as a disclaimer. To really tell, you'd have to have both books cracked out of the slabs and ready for close examination with magnification, different types of lighting, various angles, etc.

That said, it looks like your book has a lower, left corner that is superior to the 9.9.

Registry and alignment is almost too close to call. That said, I'd give the ever-so-slight edge in that category to the 9.9.

I'm sure they had everyone at CGC scouring that 9.9 before giving it the grade...but still...if it were cracked out and resubmitted, would it grade a 9.9 again? Who knows? Too expensive of a proposition to ever find out.

But like I said earlier, this is an amazing looking book! It would be very, very difficult and very, very expensive to find a buy a better copy in my opinion. Another fine piece of the collection Prof...just wish I had better means.
