  1. Anyone looking for a cgc 6.0 ow/w no chipping? if so, shoot me a PM. Thanks, Joey
  2. It is! Would be even nicer to know more about it, as others have said
  3. Boy these guys sound like consummate pros....no communications, ruin people's book, take 5x the expected tat (or more). The OP was being pretty level headed about the whole situation in my view. He waited an awful long time being treated poorly before even posting and then a number of others have shared similar experience. Competition fetters out these non consumer friendly behaviors pretty quickly. Let's hope, anyways!
  4. Brantley is awesome to deal with. Fast communication, lighting fast shipping and great packaging! highly recommend to all forumites! Joey
  5. He bought it off the newsstand, he says, and also "God Bless," meaning he has religious convictions! He and his wife too, probably! He used to collect them and put them in bags and boards (even in the 1960s, before bags and boards were prevalent), but then he forgot them because avid collectors always forget they have collections! So you can trust him! Why am I using exclamation points! I don't know! I just can't stop!!! these scumbags grind my gears!!
  6. have come across dozens if not maybe a hundred deadbeat ebayers, but there has mostly been some doubt (which is why I haven't reported more people over the years) For example - guy buys book, then says it was an accident; his wife was looking for a tickets to a comic show and accidentally bought my AF15 cgc 7.0. Anyways, I like to try and believe in the best of people -- but this one belong here! eBay username - kiley24227 (only 20 feedback) - buys $250 book from me - sends a note a few minutes later (literally) saying he's just come into some hardships financially and needs to cancel the purchase - sends payment for the book 4 hours later - I pick up my emails after all of this happens, and assume he's figured out his finances and decides to buy it. - just to be safe, i send him a note saying "I see you've paid for the book, I'm assuming you decided you wanted the book?. Please let me know if you want the refund, comics shouldn't get in the way of other important expenses getting paid" - wait over 24 hours and nothing from him, so I ship the book - 48 hours later I get the "buyer wants to return" just a hassle that I don't want as a seller and am sure others wouldn't as well. Figured I'd order the heads up to my friends on the boards. Joey
  7. It was all part of breaking Rick...driving the rebellious streak from him. Negan wanted to demonstrate that even without his army around him, he was a formidable opponent...like when he instructed Rick to grab the hatchet and attack him. He further demonstrated this when he casually dispatched a few Walkers upon opening the door and again when he cleared the group that Rick was about to fall into. It was a demonstration to Rick that instill that everything Rick had now belongs to Negan. It was a spirit-breaking demonstration of power. But Negan's power in that instance was that he had a gun and Rick didn't. Rick has guns too, just not at that moment because Negan's men disarmed him. What long-term effect would that really have? To illustrate to Rick that in the hatchet vs. gun battle, gun wins? He already knew that. Seemed mostly pointless to me as well. Killing Abraham and Glenn clearly would have a lasting effect, and the vivid threat to force Rick to cut his son's arm off would have an even longer-lasting effect. But I don't really get the hatchet sequence's effect. Negan said pretty plainly what the purpose of the trip was. Rick threatened Negan once Negan finished with victim #1. This showed Negan that there was still fight left in Rick...some defiance. This was further reinforced when they returned and Michonne said something like "we get it", to which Negan responded "I know you do. He doesn't" while motioning to Rick. It was Negan's intent to make Rick understand who holds all the cards now. Making Rick attack him while his back is turned only to be held at gunpoint moments later? Rick likely knew he wouldn't get the chance to kill Negan in that moment, but Negan forced him to do it anyway. Negan took ownership of Rick's trusty hatchet, always referring to it as "my axe" (psychological) and then forced Rick to go retrieve it unarmed against a group of walkers. All the while, Negan is telling Rick "Think about what just happened. Think about what could still happen". Psychological warfare. The trip was specifically for the purpose of psychologically breaking Rick. It seemed to have worked too...at least partially. He was much less defiant after the trip than before. When Negan finally introduced Carl into the mix, Rick finally became completely submissive in that moment. It was 100% a psychological attack...a means to an end for Negan. Did you not see it that way? Very well said, agreed
  8. The only way for the buyer to be sure about protection is to have used paypal or his credit card to purchase in a single transaction. Only Sellers with the right history and reputation can even be allowed to do a transaction that big in one shot. My limit per sale sat at $10K for years, before i could get it raised to $100K. And it was only because of demonstration of many four and five figure transactions. BTW, i think we'll see a paypal rules amendment soon covering multiple payments for a single purchase, provided certain prereqs are there.....but nothing has surfaced to date. i hope this buyer gets every nickel back, and the seller does at least a nickel at the nearest federal penitentiary! Joey
  9. Ah yes, I see now that I read your post incorrectly Possible that $380-$420 would have done it when it last surfaced, but my guess now is it would take $750k Joey
  10. your speculation is incorrect sir........I know more than 300k was offered and turned down for that book as a fact. I sit in the Showcase 4 >> Hulk 1 camp as well. But it's not cut and dried, that's for sure. We haven't had any uber high grade SC4s to market - and privately there haven't been any high grade sales in some time. hulk 1s we've had a few - but the uber high grade copies (9.0,9.2) sell very strong. SC4 is so rare in high grade that it simply doesn't come up. But if one came to auction, a 9.2 or 9.4, I think we'd have a pretty sick result.
  11. Awesome, thanks Boys! I saw that, but just wasn't sure. A little less than only 8 more months to go!!
  12. It's only not allowed when one of a small number of folks with heavy chips firmly implanted on their shoulders bash anything they can re the DCEU. No movie will ever be good enough, and these folks will continue to pull irrelevant and silly facts out of bizarre orfaces in desperation to justify why this movie didn't do well, or wouldn't do well, or can't do well. After all folks, WATCH OUT -- because if you watch this movie, you're eyes will burn, your esophagus will swell, and your Athlete'a foot will flare!! What I can't, for the life of me figure out though, is why someone would spend SO much time coming back to do this over and over again?! Bosco has learned to have an amazing level of patience for this behavior and my hat's off to him for it.....but my tolerance level is lower than his!! Hey Gatsby - If we say "you're 100% right" with whatever you post next, will you go away forever? Will your short positions in Warner Brothers stock been protected well enough?
  13. Haven't been this excited for a movie In a while! Between WW and JLA -- yesssssss..!!!!! What's the official release date in US theatres for WW? Anyone know? Thanks Joey
  14. Pretty great show, I'm 5 episodes in now. True to the character and style but without too much "forced fit". The boardie reviews seemed to be mixed, maybe even more so than normal. I liked Jessica Jones too. Less than daredevil (which is the general theme here - that DD1 season trumps all else Netflix so far), I certainly feel that way. Joey
  15. I'm struck by the passion of a few to just continue badmouthing this movie. I've watched both cuts several times now and really like it. Wish it was split into two movies to capture more...but that's coming anyways!
  16. I've tried over and over again and called Ebay. Sent a message to the guy too, to which I basically got the big middle finger.
