  1. $41k is about right for the 6.0 sale. I had a 6.0 with no right edge chipping but a little along the top edge (affected eye appeal) and ow/w pages. Had it listed for a long time at $45K, offered time payments and trade possibilities...finally sold it the day before these crazy connect sales but didn't get $45k. BUT folks, this recent sparkle city sale, connect sales, and other data out there tells us that af15s are hot and rising in price, just as some of you push as your message! It's just not doubling in value every year I saw a couple of people post the expectations for a $55-60k sale that auctioned copy and it missed by a landslide. Perhaps you should have bought it - you could have nabbed it for maybe $42-44k?
  2. Relevance of eye appeal is not new, books have always sold with a high amount of volatility to a single price, based on several factors. Eye appeal is definitely one. Presence of chipping (aside from the eye appeal piece of that), format of sale (auction vs. fixed price) and, of course, page quality. Even with books that trade alot more (like AF15) i think we too often look at the GPA last sale as a proxy for market value changes, which really isn't accurate. that's because the sale price is oscillating around the hypothetical market value price, based on these confounders. That said, I hope the buyers of the two Connect AF15s are collectors who just want to enjoy great books, because if they were purchased for upgrade, they'll likely end up large losers.
  3. 5-figure deal with Brian, went Smooth as silk. He provided prompt attention, and was super easy to do business with overall. Brian comes highly recommended to all forumites!
  4. Hey bud. I'm guessing you double box everything? if so, fitting a new slab into a "1092 box" then into a "1095 box" will always be over 2lbs, you're right. But just either one of those boxes, and going around the book 7-8 times with bubble wrap, you'll end up with 1lb 12oz to 1lb 13oz and very safe packaging. Unrelated to your buyer issue, but it adds up having to pay $17 versus $12! Good luck Joey

  7. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #3 CGC 5.0 (R) OW - $995 I didn't spot the resto, but am by no means an expert.... the label says "spine split sealed to cover" This may be doable to get into a blue label, but i don't have experience
  8. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1 CGC 2.5 OW - $3,995 Book is solid, and piece missing is what downgraded it. I think 2.5 is fair for the book, but a 3.0 would have been fair too..... I will find the back cover and add it asap, but nothing notable to report there. conditional is fine pending bc scan if you like......
