I booked at 6k loss last night on a 13k cost, so yeah. I never considered myself one of those pandemic buyers but thinking back I may been a bit bored as well. Licking my wounds with two more weeks of weeklies to get through. I wonder if ebay would have been better for some of this stuff.

Strips are a fun way to get an art fix without the massive hit to the war chest, a lot of talented artists to choose from.

There were a lot of weak results last night in strip art at both HA and CLink. Like that 1936 Blondie Sunday that went for only $780 at HA and the 1973 1st-year Hagar Sunday ($1.9K) at CLink. And it looks like you can't give away Secret Agent Corrigan strips at the moment (granted, a lot have come to market recently).
That 1944 Mandrake the Magician Sunday sold for $1.4K at CLink; down from $2K last year at Heritage.
Not that a ton of people care these days, but, yeah, it's pretty surprising to see for me. But, as I've been a big buyer of lower-end strips the past 2-3 years, I don't mind, personally - just means my budget goes farther, which is not something you can say with mainstream superhero art these days.

Not sure why you haven't been able to find one, Mandarake usually has at least one a year on the website and they come up for auction on YJ at about the same rate, but you do have to be pretty actively looking I guess.
Honestly, most of the demand from Japanese collectors is for the first HC Godzilla manga (published by Reimeisha also in November 1954). With the DJ it usually sells for 8-10x what the Science Adventure Picture Story insert (used to) sell for and is several times more rare.
The next most in demand after that would be the two HC volumes from 1958 (w/DJ) that were written by Godzilla novelist Shigeru Kayama and published by Akashiya Shobo and they also bring a price very close to the Reimeisha Godzilla

tth2 got a reaction from Topnotchman in to those of you reading/collection when X-men 94 hit the newsstands...
I vividly remember buying X-Men 94 off the newsstand at the airport in San Diego while my family was on vacation.  I was surprised to see X-Men because it had been on hiatus for a while, after having been a reprint book for several years.  As I hadn't bought (or even heard of) GSX 1, I was confused by what was going on as well, but still found it to be interesting and continued to buy the new series.
Plus, there were a few elements that pulled me in.  I knew Dave Cockrum from the Legion of Superheroes and liked how he was revamping the X-Men's costumes to look more like the Legion's costumes.  I remembered several of the new characters--Banshee because his original appearance had been relatively recently reprinted in the X-Men, Wolverine because I remembered his appearance in Hulk (although I didn't think he was a big deal) and Sunfire from a recent appearance in Sub-Mariner (although he didn't stay, of course).

I just got my graded pulps back from CGC.  I will say that they are pretty strict with grading.  That said, I found their pulps grading to be consistent with their comic grading.  Most of my 1930s pulps got between a 6.0-7.0, but I was pleased with this one from 1940:

This is definitely an interesting auction. I guess this is kind of like the Hulk 181 of Godzilla manga appearances. This separate manga was included as a bonus into the November issue of "Omishiro Book", it was the continuation of a 16 page insert from the October issue which would be Godzilla's first manga appearance. I've helped six or seven people get a copy the past several years and it's never been at cost approaching the current Heritage price (but it could very well have been quite undervalued for some time now). It is definitely difficult to find in Fine or better, and probably around an 8.0 is the best condition I've seen in person.
As an interesting side note, the original art for the splash page to the first appearance (pictured below, part of the 16-page insert) does still exist.
Photos attached are the cover of the October Omishiro Book, and then the book opened showing the splash page of the 16-page insert with the first appearance, and then my copy of the stand-alone "Science Adventure Picture Story" and the November Omoshiro Book it was inserted into.

I always joke that this DNAgents page in my collection is a "double page splash" because of the kids diving into a pool.

I've sold off the vast majority of my comic collection exactly so that my family won't be put in that position if I were to die unexpectedly.  No book would allow them to replicate the decades of experience I've built up in this hobby.
As for my OA collection, the terms of my will says that they are to be sold off through Heritage.  Just pack everything up and ship them to Dallas to be handled by professionals in an auction forum.  No way I would put them through the ordeal of selling them off piecemeal or at risk of being exploited by unscrupulous dealers and collectors.

Even assuming non-color breaking creases, those books still look sharper than 8.0s and 8.5s.  I would expect to see much more visible wear on books in those grades.

in terms of title art - especially against a black background - the Blazing West 4 is very cool, but the Blazing West 7 is off the chart
