  1. I guess it would be one of the first choices they would have if they’ll have to produce a Marvel studios new movie. Either that one or a Dr. Doom based one, since they have always been the most popular themes from classic FFs.
  2. I think we might go along VERY WELL. Aww… give me a break – that was and is the most fascinating aspect of Black Bolt (and Medusa). What makes you think everyone could invent a "thought translator" overnight? The Marvel age of comics has always been highly imaginative but not unlikely. Now it has become unlikely and very little imaginative (with good peace of presumptuous writers). And the "little antenna" as you call it, belongs to Lockjaw as well.
  3. I love Paste Pot Pete, and I love the Inhumans, but of course any hype which generates this kind of way is nonsense… You say you doubt the movies will be "bad": but "bad" has many meanings in this case – I just don’t like what they did with these movies since the beginning so I could not care less outside of how much they affect my collecting. Thankfully I already had a #36 (for over ten years) and a #45 and #52, but yes, my #46 is also in need of upgrading… oh, well, I guess I should just be thankful to have them all. As for #65-66-67: I got fixated on the book as it’s the period I love most, so I started to buy them a minute before they exploded, so I managed to choose between many copies of #67, then sold the others. Sometimes you are forced to do so in this crazy collecting climate…
  4. Campbell cover But they are all Campbell covers! And #33 is not one of the more dynamic ones of this grouping. -slym Maybe it might be that it’s just a bit harder than the others to find in "perfect" shape? It seems there are a number of copies in stated NM grade or so on eBay.
  5. Hi Matteo, honestly I don’t know. They might have reprinted the Albi dell’Audacia issues (the first and this one) but I do not believe they have reprinted in full the Albi Juventus with the other apocryphal stories.
  6. I feel like an old man asking people if nothing is sacred... and being told no, nothing is! But I still think it is fun to watch people have enthusiasm over the character. And if some readers connect to the character, if more female readers are drawn in because of it... maybe it is OK. The mad scramble for cash with this character is weird to me though Honestly, I don’t think here the matter is about respect for the characters: that is long gone and besides this Gwen is a "What If" as most of what they have been doing, even in "continuity"… What I find ridiculous is the speculating, especially around books like that X-Force which are not even worth the paper they were printed on. Now, Marvel you don’t know the next big thing, but here I reveal it for you: Peter Parker has obviusly a cousin, which is a mermaid, from the Uncle Ben / Aunt May prototype issue. What are you waiting for?
  7. I am so modern that you can’t even begin to understand me.
  8. Chip, when a book is nice you should not start your auctions so low, IMO.
  9. No, really, if there were just ten covers more I would have though about it… I am also disappointed by the fact they did not make 40 covers for ASM #700, but that’s another matter.
  10. The problem I have with Spider-Gwen is that there aren’t much variants for the cover of the first issue. Of course, the fact that Gwen Stacy is dead does not help.
  11. Ah, I see – thanks James! So I should expect Qualified for mine? I am sure it has no other restoration.
  12. With the influence of electronic writing, and how I handle the files on my computer, I ended up capitalizing a lot of words, then I felt like I was getting german, so I am trying to capitalize what is more proper. In italian, you do not capitalize adjectives connotating the nationality, like italian, american, etc. and not even the language names – is it "mandatory" in english? In English, we capitalize "proper nouns." Specific locations, businesses, people's names, that kind of thing. You know I was just teasing you, right? Although we do seem to have uncovered an interesting difference in our languages. -slym Yup, I know you were teasing, but that’s interesting as – as much as I like english's choice of capitalizations (and tend to use it) I have found that the italian rules were easier, and I am trying to get back to them. I mean, when I write in italian I just have to remember that I need to capitalize people's names, locations and little more, while in english I am always unsure. I do capitalize "Golden Age", however, as it’s not a generic addressing a "golden age" but refers to the comics' period. In German is also easy because they capitalize each and every noun, but it gets somewhat cluttered and less comfortable to read, as much as these things benefit from habit, of course.
  13. The Purple Man was never "a two bit Marvel villain the Daredevil beat up constantly” – I always found it one of the most accomplished Daredevil villains, even if used very sporadically. They even created the character of his daughter on Alpha Flight, which it was brilliant. Alias, on the other hand, is – I guess – Bendis left free to do mostly a thing on its own, which is both good and bad, seeing how he despised and disregarded most of the Marvel characters for years.
  14. at least it's in the cgc board family! (thumbs u If that’s the copy you were referring to, Billy posted it awhile ago as he slabbed it.
  15. I believe Jim sold his beautiful copy of #13 to Billy (Straw Man).
  16. My mentality is to knock a percentage off – I am not sure how CGC treats the various cases (especially with Golden Age where it is more common), as there are a good number of Hulk #181 with married wraps (because of the value stamp) that have been graded as "Qualified". If they consider it restoration when marrying a cover (which in fact it is) maybe they should all grade as restored. I have sent my own Hulk #181 to grade and I am curious to see how it will be, as I suspect the stamp page is married, so it falls in that case.

  18. This makes my head hurt even if I am italian… I feel like Hulk!
  19. What does it mean «Sony and Marvel coming to a deal»?
  20. I'm trying to sing the song but "Spider-individual with no specific origin, spider-individual with no specific origin" just doesn't have a ring to it. Don’t be so limited. Spider-Man can also be a killer because he feels like so, and then become a hermit, not because of repentance, just because he likes it. How about Spider-I-don’t-care?
  21. Sean is a very gracious person and knowledgeable collector. I did not "buy" directly from him but picked a lot of modern Daredevils and Fantastic Four books from his thread and he was nice enough to offer a $20 credit on the shipping to Italy. I would buy or sell to him with much confidence, as he’s a very honest and generous guy.
  22. Liefeld was confused on many things – and that is why I want to give him and Marvel the benefit of the doubt.
